End of Watch is hotting up - either that or Jake Gyllenhaal is in training to be a security guard. On Thursday (30 June) Jake visited Andrews International Training Center in Burbank which specialises in firearms training. Just the kind of thing a police officer in a David Ayers' gritty LAPD drama is going to need an awful lot of. Jake took his own lethal weapon with him - himself encased in a white t-shirt.
I would normally thank readers for their links. However, thanks to Christina's link to a Man Vs Wild jigsaw puzzle game, I have lost a fair amount of time today putting Jake and Bear back together again, Be warned, this link leads to somewhere addictive. So thanks Christine, sort of... ;)
Pictures from IHJ. I think it's time for another puzzle...
My review of Transformers: Dark of the Moon is up at MovieBrit

Hahaha! It's very addictive! I did 3 puzzles already and I plan to do one more now! And because of that I had to change a bit my cleaning schedule for today. I mean, puzzles instead of cleaning :) Much nicer.
I like when Jake smiles to photographers. I think, when he works he's much more patient with them.
I think he may be also excited because of shooting training. I guess, most of guys would be.
And I am excited too, waiting for EoW to start to turn so soon and seeing Jake in good shape and good mood, looking so fantastic.
It's far too addictive, Mermon! I've done 3 too and I think I'll do one more before bed :) Thanks Christina! I like that too about the smiling - I know paps are hugely irritating but they want a reaction, smiling appears to be the best defence.Jake is in great shape (although the same can't be said for his hair...).
My review of Transformers 3 is now up at MovieBrit I'm not too complimentary!
Jake looks cool and calm here (with a very nice white shirt), I love it.
I am glad that it seems EoW is going to start filming soon (here's hoping) since Jake has been training. I am looking forward to this film.
Thanks for the MB review, WDW, I always enjoy reading your opinion on films. Have you ever seen a film called 'The Fall'? It was released in 2008: http://www.thefallthemovie.com/
He looks good, doesn't he, Margot?! And thanks! I've not seen the Fall. It looks a little dark for me - did you like it?
In that case I'll stay far away from that website. Happy puzzling ladies! *big grin*
Holey moley, all Jake needs a a white t-shirt, indeed. Yes sir. *thud* I have my thoughts on that big leather bag though... We've seen him with it quite a few times now, and I don't know... not really gritty cop-style, don't you think? ;-)
I can't wait to learn more about Jake's character Dan Taylor (right, isn't that his name). The plot sounds great and I am looking forward to a cop-partner drama. Jake always plays interesting characters and the next one is never the same as his last one- his characters are always so different and unique- I love that about him.
Odd question: Does anyone know where there is an archive of Jake's full interviews? I know I am weird wanting to read Jake interviews and I have no good reason for it except that I am curious. I have gone to IHJ and looked under Magazine Scans, but sometimes the pictures are too small for me to read the words. I know WDW has a fantastic array of Jake info, but it's a lot of posts to go through to look for interviews (literally years worths of posts)
:)
WDW, I forgot to reply about The Fall.
Yes, it is a sad film, but cute and quite funny at times. I just watched it so it is fresh on my mind; and it is a stunning film directing-wise and acting-wise (in my opinion). I'm not sure why I brought it up since it is so off-topic.
Morning everyone! Up late due to those blasted puzzles... :D
Very wise, Lady Ekster! And that is a very big bag. I think it contains his cop stuff!
Morning Margot! It's definitely Taylor, I can't remember the first name right now. As far as the interviews ago, that's a good point as I've been putting up interviews for years. And I don't think I've missed many. There's a search widgit towards the bottom of the right hand column of the front page and you could search for 'interview' or 'scan', but what I need to do is spend some time retagging a lot of these posts. I've learned a lot about blogging over the years and so there are some things I should have done which I didn't. But you've given me the push I need so I'll try to spend some time on that. And then I can get the tags to appear on the side and you can click them for posts. Or they'll appear at the head of the block, along with Jake's film characters.
Thanks for telling me about The Fall. I always like to hear which films people like the most :)
Have a good day everyone! It's Carnival time in Oxford today. It would be on men's tennis finals day...
Morning everyone,
Sorry I gave you the link for the puzzles... *I'll never do it again :-)*
They're really addictive. I should have known it before...
Have a nice day everyone.
Christina
Hi there Christina! It is a lot of fun so I'll forgive you ;) Hope you had a good weekend.
Hope everyone had a good Sunday! And the week begins... deep breaths...
I've done all the Jake's puzzles and I started to do some Bryll's. It much more of them :)
Thank you Christina one more time.
Yeah! Another week is starting again.
It's Monday morining and it's raining - yuck! But it's good to see Jake in this crisp white shirt.
Does anybody know if Jake owns his own firearms, because that bag looks like it may contain a riffle case.
I mean he definately shot before (BBM, SC), so he might like it. Target shooting can be very relaxing, almost like meditating. I know that from doing archery.
Have a nice week everyone!
Oh - and BTW: Happy Independance Day to Jake and all our American friends!
Morning everyone! Happy 4 July to American readers. Enjoy the fireworks.
Hi Mermon! I did a few of those too - completely addictive...
Hi Mrs JG! I can't help but hope Jake doesn't have his own firearms... That's the bag Jake took with him for the Kung Fu so maybe it just contains all his kit.
Have a good day everyone!
Happy 4th to everyone. I went to a community BBQ at the pool and tonight my friend is shooting off some fireworks in front of our house
I hope Jake will enjoy his 4th too, wherever he is

Hi Sweetpea - have a good evening! Just a normal day here unfortunately...
Firearms training is one of the vital courses that a security personnel must undergo in order to protect themselves from lawless elements.
