Jake Gyllenhaal en vacances and Source Code goes Nebula

Jake Gyllenhaal's Jury Duty may be done but his European Vacances continues with a visit to Paris, barely a hop, skip and a splash from these shores. Jake has been spotted in the company of tasty pastries and Midnight in Paris actress Léa Seydoux. The photo below was taken yesterday by a lucky tweeter at Nanashi, a healthy Japanese eatery. Today, Jake was spotted with Léa in an area of Paris called le Xème. If you're a foodie like Jake, then Paris is a dream (albeit a bit of a pricey one...).

Source Code

Source Code may be one of the most overlooked films of the year - by critics that is, audiences loved it - but The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America recognise a good film when they see it. Source Code has been nominated in the SFWA Nebula Awards, specifically for the Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Presentation. Man Made Movies has all the details!

My review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is up on MovieBrit.

Hi, Le Xèmes it is not a restaurant but the 10th arrondissment/districts of Paris, very happy for Source Code:)

Hi 19:27, thanks so much for that! I've corrected the post. And it's great for Source Code, I'm really please that the sci fi community of writers recognises what a good film it is :) Thanks again!

My pleasure - thank you!

Any idea where Lea lives in Paris? I don't mean exact address, but which area? I'm sure he's staying with her.

That's nice - Jake stayed in Europe, too bad he moved West instead of East from Berlin:)
There is one more pic from Paris
Jake reading WDW blog :)
I haven't see any movie with Lea Seydoux, but heard only good things about her. Nice, Jake found a reason to drop in to Paris. Maybe Lea is not the only one. The Shoes posted 7 h ago news "EDITING TIME TO DANCE VIDEO". Maybe Jake will take a look, though I think The Shoes are in Reims, not so close to Paris:)
I'm glad SC was appreciated - finally.

I hope Jake is having a great time in Paris. He needs to get rested and refreshed so he can get back to work and give us some more movies!

The news about Source Code's nomination is awesome. Fingers crossed for a well-deserved win for Duncan Jones.

Kate, I admire your taste in movies and I applaud your positive review of Ghost Rider:Spirit of Vengeance. Alas, that still isn't enough to entice me to see it. I love Nic Cage but he's just got to do better than Season of the Witch or Ghost Rider. I'll rewatch Knowing or National Treasure or even The Sorcerer's Apprentice while I wait for another good Nic Cage movie.

Thanks for the link, Mermon! Love the caption!! That's interesting about The Shoes video.

Hi Susan! We must have posted at the same time :) Love your Nic Cage comment! I know I'm biased but how I love his crazy bonkers films :D but I do know they're not for everyone - though glad to say Conojito and Ruby enjoyed it too. Love Crazy Cage :) And what good news about Source Code!

It's great news that SC has been nominated for this award!
and I'm happy to hear the news about Jake in Paris. I hope Jake is having a good time at there too!
When i watched the movie "Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol" I first saw Lea Seydoux. She is very cute and cool. Good Luck Jake!! hahaha :D
oh! I can't wait the music video. I hope it will be amazing! :)

I enjoyed Lea so much in Robin Hood. I only saw bits of Mission Impossible and Inglorious Bastards, but that will give me a reason to finally watch both of them.

I just feel glad, that Jake is still in my time zone.
And it's always nice to connect work and fun.

As for Nick Cage - Season of the Witch was one of the few movies I ever walked out of in a theater. I just couldn't finish it.

Oh, and I'm obviously not a robot anymore! Thanks, Kate.

Jake may be back in New York now there are a few tweets of him in NY from yesterday if those sightingd are true we should know soon

Yes, by all means Jake should rest up so he has the strength to make some more movies. :-)

That's good news about the "Source Code" nomination. I had a Source-Code-scene epiphany last week when I saw "The Vow." There weren't any Jake links in terms of actors, but there was a background that seemed awfully familiar: an oddly shaped mirror that makes everything look strangely warped. I was saying, "Where have I seen that before? Then I realized that it was in "Source Code," and that it seemed to be some kind of Chicago landmark. So "The Vow" must have been set in Chicago, too.

Anyway, the city itself was the Jake link! :-)

Finally something new about End of Watch:
According to Variety - "Open Road Films is in final talks to acquire David Ayer's police film 'End of Watch,' starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena" - so maybe promotion will start soon?

Thanks mermon (for the EoW news) :)

Thanks MK!

Hi there Paul! Just don't fancy The Vow myself but I've found myself spotting the Chicago Bean in a couple of films lately.

Thanks Mermon!

I've been getting a few spam comments on old posts today. I'll leave it a couple of days but unfortunately the anti-robot evice may have to come back...

A pic from some party Holiday party 2011
Never heard about it before. Jake looks nice. 11th pic. Many celebs there.

What great news, Kate!
I had lost hope of seeing SC appointed to any prize, now we have left is hope :)

Daniela said...

Hope to see him win

LOL! That "holiday party" is photo shopped. Not real.

mermon said...

Really @Anon? Could be. Too many famous peeps in one place. Obama, Cruise, Jake? Unlikely.

Leslie said...

As speaking from the perspective of having taken numerous Photoshop and web classes . . those pictures of the Holiday Party are definitely fake. Yet another example of how NOT to believe everything you read and see on the Internet.

On another note, here's an article that talks about BM's Oscar miss. Interesting that they mention Jack Nicholson's reaction.

Leslie said...

Mermon: The point you state as being the fact for the pictures to not be fake is exactly why they are. The logistics of getting all of those immensely talented people together for a house party with a group of unknowns is what's not likely.

Leslie said...

The picture of RP and Ryan Reynolds is not done very well - obviously fake. The focus and lighting are two things you can look at in an image to see if it's real. There's other indications, but I'm not going to try and go through them all here.

mermon said...

@Leslie.LOL! You misunderstood me or I wrote it in not too clearly way. I agreed with @Anon, that the pics have to be fake, cause it's unlikely to gather all those celebs in one place. I was just too naive when I saw them on a site. And hurried to share with you. :))LOL again.

Hi everyone :) Sorry for being offline tonight, not too well still. Those pics are very funny - what a party! Waves to Mermon and Leslie. I read that about BBM - good to see.

Hi Daniela! I have everything crossed.

Thanks for the End of Watch info. Have bits on that to report tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone!

Leslie said...

Mermon: yeah, I think you may have stated your case backwards. ;) Are we sure Jake is in NYC and . . . . is Lea with him?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Morning everyone! I am so pleased to say that I am starting to feel human again! Have a good day everyone :)

Unknown said...

There are quite a few tweets of Jake being in NYC. Unless there is a very convincing clone in NYC (which I call dips on!), I'd say it's true.
No mention of Lea though.

AND - it's Friday! Have a good weekend everyone!

Lea is preparing for her next films which begins in early March, in France.
