A catch up with Jake Gyllenhaal in Toronto, Anna Kendrick on End of Watch and an WDW Interlude

As England languishes in bliss with the hot sun we've been missing for weeks, time for a catch up with Jake Gyllenhaal. As of yesterday, Jake was still in Toronto continuing to attract attention. He was seen at Kultura  Restaurant last night by a lucky tweeter who also managed to get a photo of him. Looks like he'd popped out to have a ciggie. The tweeter Casie was double lucky as she'd met Jake before. Meanwhile, another tweeter posted a great account of his adventure, meeting with Jake on Wednesday. There are new photos from the filming of An Enemy on Tuesday and, thanks to IHJ, some of those are included here.

Anna Kendrick, Jake's co-star in End of Watch, is currently in Cannes with her new movie What to Expect when You're Expecting. In an interview for that she mentioned how filming End of Watch took her right out of what she is used to: I’ve done End Of Watch, which is violent and full of suspense and I’ve never done that before. I play Jake Gyllenhaal’s wife. It’s a cop drama. It was crazy to sit in a cinema and watch the scenes. I really experienced myself being sick with worry about Jake’s character. I’m not method – it’s a testament to how good the film is.

WDW Interlude

This hot weather took us out to a river pub where there was a spot of drama, and I don't just mean the peacock nicking people's chips. Abandoned ducklings which had been hiding on the roof of the pub for over a day and a night, finally emerged, peeking over the edge. They were rescued and collected by the RSPCA. Meanwhile the peacock ate more chips.

My review of the Madonna movie about Edward and Mrs Simpson - W.E. - is now up on MovieBrit.

Kate - thanks for a cute interlude story.
Jake really seems relaxed, in good mood, taking pics with fans, talking with them.
Gyllengod story is delightful. We were watching his efforts to find the movie set, his excitement of spotting Jake and absolute happiness from close encounter with him. I was exciting myself following his tweets.
Good to read what Anna Kendrick has to say about End of Watch. If watching film she was worry about her husband-Jake's character, we will be for sure, I bet. The whole interview is interesting to me. Here is another one, quite long. One before last answer is about End of Watch as well.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend for those in the states! I'm thinking they may not be filming this weekend because of that and I'm guessing Jake will hop back and forth to NYC when he has time off.

I have to say Anna has confirmed my fear 100% with this quote: "It was crazy to sit in a cinema and watch the scenes. I really experienced myself being sick with worry about Jake’s character." This is how I suspected I would feel when I watched this movie and now she is pretty much confirming it for me - yikes! (Of course I'll get through it, though, and figure by viewings 3, 4 & 5 I'll be use to it - ha ha)!!

Thanks for the update WDW - the sightings of Jake have been wonderful - lots of excitement. Glad to hear (and see in your interlude) that your part of England is warm...my part of England (New) is warm too and we've headed north for the holiday weekend.

Have a good weekend all (even while away for the long weekend I still want to see some pictures)!!

:-)

Glad the sun is out on the other side of the Channel too! We have been enjoying the loveliest weather this week, what a change after all that rain and dark clouds.

My Twitter timeline is going crazy with all these Jake sightings. Exciting! These are the good times with pictures and snippets of news in abundance. Makes the wait for End of Watch so much more bearable. Thanks everyone.

Have a good Sunday!

Hello BBMIswear :-) Sounds like this good be one of those films to watch through fingers... Have a good holiday Monday!

Hi there Monica! Good to see you :D

Hi Christina and thank you!

Good to know you're getting some sun too, Lady Ekster :) Absolutely beautiful here judging from how pink I am...

We have to wait for our Bank Holiday *sigh* But at least when we get it it'll be double.

Had a great time camping although it had its dramas 0 Mr WDW became very ill with food poisoning for an evening and night and I have had a bad allergic reactions to bites on my ankle. It's now double the size. But, nevertheless!, we had a good weekend in the hot sun :)
