Jake Gyllenhaal at the Lucille Lortel Awards and out and about in NYC. Plus a WDW Spring Interlude

Last night (5 May), the Lucille Lortel Awards took place at New York University's Skirball Center. Jake Gyllenhaal had a nomination for his role in If There Is.... but although he didn't win, the next best thing happened. Jake presented an award to his young co-star in the play, Annie Funke, who was hailed as best featured access for her role. Details here. One suspects Jake was very proud indeed.

Meanwhile, Jake has been seen out and about across NYC over the last few days. He was spotted out for a walk on 2 May with End of Watch co-star America Ferrera, who was also at the Lucille Lortel Awards, before later catching up with Marcus Mumford (photos here).America also attended the Lucille Lortel Awards. Later that evening, Jake attended The Great Gatsby after party with its leading lady Carey Mulligan (and wife of Marcus). Good to hear that also sitting at the same table was another co-star of Jake's, Tobey Maguire. This was the place to be. What a shame I live in Oxford and couldn't make it...

On 3 May, Jake was seen out for a walk with his mum Naomi.

Not all potential new movie news is good news. It turns out that we (and I would argue Jake) had a lucky escape. We hear this week that Jake was considered for a role in The Hangover, as was Lindsay Lohan. Takes a deep breath and exhales in relief. It was not meant to be.

Thanks very much to IHJ for the pics! There are plenty more there.

WDW Interlude

Finally, after the most horrible summer and winter on record, Spring has arrived in the UK! We've had two weeks of warm sunshine now and while more snow should not be ruled out it has meant that I've been escaping the four walls of work and home for the glorious, hay fevery countryside. Time for an interlude...

The Roman villa hidden in the woods of Gloucestershire

Spring at the Cotswold Wildlife Park

May Day in Oxford

Spring in Avebury

Now you see me...

And now you don't.

UPDATE: Nightcrawler! Jake Gyllenhaal seeing double: First image from An Enemy, plus poetry, basketball and a Drama League Award Nomination

Update! NIGHTCRAWLER!

According to Variety, Jake will be co-producing and starring in (probably) Nightcrawler alongside Rene Russo.

'Jake Gyllenhaal is continuing to focus on edgy, adult thrillers as he is set to star along with Rene Russo in the indie “Nightcrawler” that Tony Gilroy will produce. Dan Gilroy is helming from a script he penned. Story follows the story of a driven young man who discovers the nocturnal world of L.A. freelance crime journalism. Gilroy will produce along with Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Fox along with Michel Litvak and David Lancaster who are producing and financing via their Bold Films banner. Sierra/Affinity will kick off international sales in Cannes. CAA packaged the film and co-represents the film’s North American distribution rights with WME. The film marks the directorial debut for Dan Gilroy, who co-wrote “The Bourne Legacy” with his brother Tony Gilroy.'

So, another 'driven young man' role.... What do you think?

On with the post...

It's been another busy week for Jake Gyllenhaal. It's been so hectic, surely one could be forgiven for seeing double.

Yes, this week we've had the first image of Jake and Jake from An Enemy or Enemy Within. Whatever the title, it's certain that you'll get twice the Jake for the price of a cinema ticket. With the film due this autumn, it can't be too long before we have a trailer. Thanks to IHJ for this! And hot on the heels of the Nailed images too... (see last post - there are more Nailed images featuring Jessica Biel at Jessica.biel.com).

Jake has also been spotted over the last few days in the company of some very familiar faces. On 17 April, Jake attended the Poetry and the Creative Mind event hosted by the Academy of American Poets at the Lincoln Center, NYC. The resulting official pic is a bit of a who's who. Seeing Jake sitting next to one of my favourites, Kathleen Turner, is a cause for celebration.

Jake read Wild Geese by Mary Oliver and Ave Maria by Frank O'Hara. There are more details and images here. This is one of those events I would have loved to have attended.

On 23 April, Jake and Marcus Mumford joined Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor and Spike Lee to watch the Boston Celtics play the New York Knicks at Madison Square Gardens. I must admit that one's eyes are rather distracted in the photo below...

Marcus Mumford, Jake Gyllenhaal, Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller and Spike Lee gave a standing ovation as the Boston Celtics played the New York Knicks during a playoff game at NYC's Madison Square Garden April 23. One has to wonder at Jake's allegiance that night - maybe he cheered for both teams. Whether he liked it or not, Boston Celtics were defeated 87-71. I once umpired a game of basketball in 1985 despite having no knowledge of the rules - so I feel qualified to comment. Thanks to IHJ for the pics!

Also on 23 April, Jake was nominated for a Drama League Award - a Distinguished Performance Award no less - for his performance in If There Is! The awards will be held on 17 May - so much luck to you Jake!

Film rumours, stage award nominations, Berlin memories and a WDW interlude

Twitter gives and it takes away... Thanks to Twitter - which, as well all know, is not the most reliable of sources despite being the most lavish - we learn that Jake Gyllenhaal will not take the place of Jude Law in Jane Got a Gun opposite Natalie Portman. The cowboy hat will instead be worn by the head of Bradley Cooper.

But hot on the heels of the disappointing news is the hint of a rumour of some more possible good news. Someone tweeted that Jake has signed on to appear with Colin Farrell and Amy Smart in The Land of No Return to be released in 2014. This could be a remake of the 1978 film. If so, Jake may need to pull on all of his Man Vs Wild training. Of course, all of this is floating about up in the clouds of rumour and we may never hear more about it again. If it comes to pass, the worry may be that it will mean a return of Sasquatch Jake...

There is some great news this week. Jake has been nominated for a Lucille Lortel award as Outstanding Featured Actor in If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet. In further good news for the play, Annie Funke has also been nominated for Outstanding Featured Actress and Beowulf Boritt for Outstanding Scenic Design. Personally, I would have thought that being called Beowul Boritt is reward enough. This bodes well for the Tony Award nominations which will be announced at the end of the month. Jake has good form for his stage career, having won an Evening Standard award for his debut in This Is Our Youth back in 2002.

Berlin memories - Two years ago today

Two years ago today I saw Jake in Berlin at the premiere there of Source Code. A fabulous day, not least because I also met Sasha and other friends and got to explore this incredible city (and drink beer in the zoo). For a trip down a very happy memory lane, here is the first report and here the second.

WDW Interlude - Broughton

Last week, we dodged the remaining snow drifts on the motorbike to visit Broughton Castle, a moated manor house in north Oxfordshire. This beautiful house, built in the 1300s, was the home of William Fiennes in the first half of the 17th century who led forces against Charles I at the Battle of Edgehill in 1642. Rather appropriately, we then headed to Edgehill for fish pie, overlooking the site of the battle in a castle folly that is now a wonderful pub.

Next to the Castle is the manor's church which contains the most impressive tombs, including one that was restored in the Victorian period to its medieval gaudiness. Wall paintings also survive.

To provide a link to the movies, Ralph Fiennes is related to the family that still owns the Castle (and serves the most delicious Victoria sponge cake and tea - although not by them personally...). There are film props in the tearoom.

UPDATE! WDW Exclusive Part 2! Carey Mulligan speaks about Jake Gyllenhaal and the UK prepares...

UPDATE! Tomorrow morning at 10am Brit Time, Jake will be answering fans' questions on MSN. So, in the meantime tweet your questions to @msnents using #msnjake or follow this link to the webpage where you can also leave a question.

Jake appears on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show tomorrow and on th Graham Norton Show on the BBC at 10.30pm. Thanks to Gyllencrazy for the info that this will be broadcast on BBC America on 8 December.

So, if you're in London as of now, keep your eyes open!

On with the post!

A couple of weeks ago, I was able to share a fabulous report by Lisa and Ted from their NYC trip to see Jake Gyllenhaal at the Armed Forces event. If you see Jake at one event in a weekend then you can consider yourself truly fortunate, but two?! Earlier the same day - 11 November - Lisa and Ted attended a performance of If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet which was followed by a Q and A in which the full cast, including Jake, participated. Lisa even asked the first question. So, with no further ado, here is Lisa's full and brilliant report:

'On Sunday, November 11th I attended If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet for the sixth time and enjoyed it just as much as I did all the other times!  The performances are tighter than ever and Enid Graham is a great addition to the cast playing Anna’s mother, Fiona.  This performance was extra special because Ted, who has been on a couple of other adventures with me :-), was able to join me in the states and we had tickets in the orchestra front row center.  It was amazing to be sitting that close and looking straight on like that and, yes, we did get splashed a few times!!

This performance included a Q&A and this time the full cast participated. Jake looked great in the mustard colored pants he had on in the recent ‘walking about NYC pictures’ with a brown button down shirt and no hat (boy, that head of hair is getting full – lookin’ good)!

When the cast first got seated Jake looked around the audience a lot - he seemed to scan each and every person.  He looked quite relaxed throughout, slumped down a bit with legs stretched out in front of him when other cast members spoke, sometimes with a distant look as if really concentrating on what they were saying.  He would nod in agreement from time to time as they spoke and would sit right up when he was asked a question as he readied to answer.

I felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to ask the first question which I directed to Jake (of course)!  I noted that he played a lot of different characters over his career and that Terry is quite a unique one and I asked if he could tell us what he liked and disliked about playing this character.  He said that he first wanted to say that it was the writing that attracted him to the play and he went on to say similar things that we’ve heard him say before about the story (i.e. the messy family situation, etc.) but I’ll be honest that when he was answering this question he was looking directly at me (he was doing that a lot – looking at the person who asked the question while giving his answer instead of looking at the audience as a whole) so there are definitely bits that went in one ear and out the other!

He said that when he read the script that parts were written like poetry and he liked that Terry’s sentences were often unfinished and he had to finish them himself mentally.  He said it was funny how when you looked at the lines all of Terry’s were just on the left hand side of the page because they just stopped (he chuckled as he explained that).

He continued that he felt Terry is just trying to be understood and has such a hard time expressing himself but he is dedicated to the truth of it.  He thinks that that’s where a lot of Terry’s anger comes from – not being able to verbalize it and that’s what he loved about it. He added that if you’re going to do something eight times a week you want it be something you really want to be a part of and he felt that this was an opportunity he might not get to play again.

Needless to say I just nodded and smiled throughout his answer because, wow, it’s really hard to concentrate when those eyes are looking straight at you!  So hard, in fact, that I didn’t notice until much later that he didn’t mention what he disliked about playing the character of Terry – maybe there isn’t anything he dislikes about it?

Jake seemed happy to answer any questions that came his way as well as jump in and add to some of the things being asked of the other cast members.  When Annie was asked about the relationship between Anna and Terry and if she even realized it was leaning toward a sexual nature she said that she and Jake talked a lot about that and both felt that this girl needed some type of positive attention – any type of attention – as she was so overlooked and being a 15 year old girl it’s not a surprise that she confused her feelings at times.  Jake took the microphone from her when she was done and wanted to add that it seems that people often confuse intimacy and sexuality and that you can have one without the other and that the way Anna and Terry are toward each other is just how these two people express themselves.

There was a question that’s been brought up before regarding this play about the two brothers speaking so differently and Jake grabbed the microphone right away and laughed as he said “well George is A LOT older” which got a laugh out of everyone (especially Brian who plays George)!  He went on to say that George had a lot of schooling, did a lot of studying and seemed to identify with that while Terry was closer to home and stayed closer to his mom.  He said he also thought that Terry wants to hold on to somewhat of a street-smart kid attitude so kind of talks in a certain way to portray that.

Link for the above video interview

There was a question for Annie and Enid about the mother and daughter relationship which they both spoke a little about and then a couple of comments that made people shake their heads a bit (but that always seems to happen at a Q&A)!  One was from an older woman who wanted to tell anyone who would listen that the British accents didn’t sound right and caused her to not understand one thing that was said and she thought someone should make note of that – this caused a combination of discomfort and a few chuckles from the audience and cast members alike!  Another older woman mentioned a photo of Jake that she saw in the NY Times as part of a review and that he had a red beard and she wondered what happened to it which caused Jake to grab the microphone and say “I think you got a bad copy of the NY times” which got quite a roar of laughter from everyone!

All and all it was a very interesting and entertaining Q&A and it was wonderful to hear Jake talk about this project which is obviously very dear to him.

I do have to thank a group of friends who joined Ted and I after the play and helped me write a thorough recap of the Q&A as it was a lot to remember but we wanted to get it all written down so we could share!'

Thank you, Lisa!

Carey Mulligan on Jake Gyllenhaal in End of Watch

This - a presentation for SAG - is very special. Carey's words on the performance of her friend Jake in End of Watch:

'I remember so vividly Jake's demeanor when he was preparing for "End of Watch." I have known him and regarded him as a dear friend for several years, and during that time I was very struck by some fundamental change in him. He was energized, he was completely present and he told me with such excitement about the work that he was doing to get ready for his next movie. A large part of the work involved was observing protocol on the midnight shift with the LAPD. Both he and Michael Pena witnessed pretty tragic, unpleasant scenes that affected them both. His descriptions of the ride-alongs were charged not with voyeurism but with a profound respect for the policemen and women whom they were observing. His reinvigorated sense of perspective and humility was palpable. I sensed just how deep he had already gone, and that the experience was filling him in some new way. Not that Jake had ever taken work lightly -- quite the opposite -- but what was so distinct on this occasion was that this work was releasing him. He seemed more free, more alive and more comfortable in his skin than I had ever known him.'

'Watching Jake in "End of Watch," I saw all of that joyous freedom on the screen. His complete ease in scenes with the brilliant Michael Pena makes those moments wrap around you in all their infectious warmth, and pulls you into the car with them. Their comraderie is the most beautiful portrayal of friendship in the truest sense: absolute trust, love and unflinching loyalty. It is a love story that broke my heart and Jake's work is fearless. He is not daunted by the intimacy of their relationship, the lightening fast emotional changes, the dichotomy of bravado and honesty or even a meticulously choreographed first dance at his wedding. When he stood to speak at the closing of the movie, with such quiet grace, I realized I hadn't thought once of the Jake I know as my friend but only as the character he embodies in this wonderfully special movie.'

Speaking of awards, Michael Pena has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Spirit Award although Jake and David Ayer were not nominated - mixed news there.

End of Watch and the UK

Jake is set to arrive in the UK imminently for his flying promotional trip. Tomorrow night Jake's appearance on the Graham Norton Show is recorded (before airing late on Friday night), during which he will be surrounded by Jeremy Clarkson and James May of Top Gear as well as Joan Rivers. Getting a word in will prove quite a feat but I'm sure Jake will manage it. Also, unlike other chat shows, if Jake is first on the show he'll be there on the sofa throughout. If he's last on, he'll be fighting for airtime with Clarkson - could be interesting. Could be controversial. Could be petrolheady. Not having Top Gear's Richard The Hamster Hammond and Jake on the show is a missed opportunity that Norton may rue til the end of his days - or at least til the end of the series.

Also on Friday, Jake is taking part in a BAFTA screening and Q and A in London.

On Friday morning, Jake is due to appear on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show - not something I'd wish on many people but hopefully it will go well and Jake won't be overshadowed by the announcement of flood warnings.

No doubt, there will be more! Especially as End of Watch has been causing such a great buzz over the UK since its release last Friday.

Thanks to IHJ for the lovely new pictures!

Jake Gyllenhaal video update - plus Viola Davis joins Prisoners

Tonight is Bonfire Night - I therefore want to apologise in advance for any typoes caused by me leaping out of my skin when the neighbours let off yet another rocket. Time for a quick message from our sponsor...

Prisoners is growing by the week. This week it was revealed that Viola Davis - fresh from appearing in Won't Back Down with Maggie Gyllenhaal - is joining Jake, Hugh Jackman, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano. Good to also hear that plans are afoot to sell the movie to international distributors this week.

Meanwhile If There Is... continues to grab attention. The play is in full swing again after Hurricane Sandy with Jake back to handing out hugs. Yesterday Jake and co-star Brian O'Byrne spoke with NY1 about the play. Thanks to IHJ for the link.

Jake's latest movie End of Watch has yet to reach many of us and so the buzz is still buzzing. In this article, Jake and Michael Pena chat about director David Ayer's manner of praise and Michael marvels at Jake's intense appreciation for yoghurt.

'"His response to liking something is, 'That didn't suck,'" Jake laughed. Michael added: "'That sucked less.' Or, 'Do some other sh*t.' In rehearsals too, he was really rough."' The two actors added they nicknamed the script talks with David 'Poison Meetings' as he was always so open with them. He was never afraid to pull them up on things which weren't quite right, with both men admitting the movie is better for it. '"They really worked. They got you motivated," Michael said. "They'd usually come after sparring, after we'd gone home and showered quickly or whatever."'

[Jake introducing End of Watch to UK audiences]

'Michael worked hard to stay in shape for the movie. Jake didn't have to work out quite so much and wasn't always thoughtful when it came to his co-star's diet. "Remember dude, with your [frozen yoghurt] when you were like, 'Mmmm! Oh my God, it's so good! Mike, you want some?’" Michael laughed. Jake giggled: "Then I said, 'You wanna go for a run later?'"'

And finally...

A reminder of sunnier, warmer, less beardy days...

Prisoners gets a poster and an If There Is update, including a letter from Jake Gyllenhaal

Apologies for the lack of updates over the last week. This is because I am still ill in bed with a very nasty and stubborn bout of the flu. As a result, I do recommend you don't get too close to the blog this evening for this brief update.

It's been quite a week of the NE United States, including New York City. You won't be surprised to learn that the New Eyes for the Needy event to honour Jake Gyllenhaal was postponed from Monday evening. Devastating hurricanes will do that. If There Is... was also cancelled briefly but resumed a couple of days later. Talking of If There Is, big thanks to BBMISwear for sending me scans of these two pieces of Roundabout Theatre post she received, including a letter from Jake. That's what I call post...

Jake's forthcoming movie Prisoners might not be made yet - not even a little bit - but it already has a poster to go with its release date of 20 September 2013. Source. Thanks to Mermon for the link.

Special good wishes to all those of you who were caught up in the horrendous storm on Monday night.

*Updated to add video* Jake Gyllenhaal cooks and is cooked for (you can be there too!)

Jake Gyllenhaal's culinary skills are legendary. One can barely think of such foodstuffs as pickled onions, starbursts, strawberries, cilantro, risotto, iPads and meatballs without thinking of Jake. In fact, he is one of the few people in the public eye who would be able to construct a plate of food and a piece of garden furniture from the same ingredients. This week, Jake appeared on The Chew, cooking alongside old friend and TV cooking partner Mario Batali. If you live in the US you can watch the clip here. Wouldn't it be great if internet files could be freed from borders?

Update! As you can see, there is now a version for us all. Thanks so much to Stephanie!

Thank heavens for IHJ. Looks like Jake's beard is coming on a treat. Anyone with a beard like that who eats spaghetti is a brave man (or woman, I don't want to be sexist).

Jake appeared on the Leonard Lopate radio show this week with fellow If There Is... cast member Brian F O'Byrne. I'm delighted to say that the interview is now available to listen to.

And finally...

Jake's charity work for New Eyes for the Needy (as well as his love of food) is being recognised on 29 October by a celebratory dining event that you can go to as well if you live near NYC and have $500. Not only does the money go to a good cause, but you can also see Jake, as well as Peter, Maggie and Top Brit Scout Bear Grylls, and, one hopes, get some good nosh too. Details are all here.

If any of you go, please remember to bag me some pudding.

There is also another one of those famous Jake auctions.

Thanks very much, IHJ!

End of Watch publicity moves on to Australia, interviews with Jake Gyllenhaal and a video catch up

As End of Watch moves on to its next port of call - Australia on 1 November - the publicity machine shifts a continent, leapfrogging one or two on the way.

Jake Gyllenhaal is interviewed in Australia's The West today and in it he chats a little about growing up in Los Angeles, not too far away from those Mean Streets. And getting tasered. Apparently, it's better than having pepper thrown in your face. Not something I'd want to test. "Umm, the absurdity of my life. I love that I'm talking about being in the ganglands of south-east LA and now I'm getting served tea" - quite right too. Hopefully with sandwiches with the crusts cut off.

'"When I was a kid we lived on a street called Westmoreland. My dad had got this run-down house and he's a pretty great carpenter and he fixed out the whole house. Today that area has become more gentrified but when we were there it wasn't... It wasn't until years later when I started 'rolling around' for this film that I realised I had lived within a 20-block radius of what Rampart was," says the actor referring to where the infamous Los Angeles riots took place in 1992, the Rampart name becoming synonymous with crime and violence.'

There is much more here so do to a look.

Jake has also been interviewed for Hispanic Business. There is a little in there about filming the opening scene, which is spoilery so not included here, but there is also this about how Jake's view of urban life changed after making the film: 'It's hard not to, after having shared [the police officers'] world. There's this weird dichotomy of seeing the world with a little more paranoia, the possibility of something around that corner, and at the same time feeling stronger for it and more confident because of it. Feeling like there is a reality that I now know.'

As I write this Jake and Brian T Byrne from If There Is... are being interviewed on the Leonard Lopate radio show (details here) and hopefully a podcast will be available later. Thanks to BBMISwear for the heads up!

Meanwhile, a crew call for Jake's next (?) project Prisoners has revealed that the film will be shot in Georgia.

Jake Gyllenhaal talks about An Enemy, Prisoners and working on stage in If There Is

As sure as night follows day, as irrefutable as Jake Gyllenhaal not endorsing Romney, the media interest in Jake continues to soar. Hardly surprising, considering the rave reviews he has received for End of Watch and If There Is... and the speculation about new exciting roles to come.

The new UK quad poster for End of Watch (pictured above) was revealed today by HeyUGuys.

Jake has been talking to Wall Street Journal about An Enemy and Prisoners, in addition to lots about End of Watch:

An Enemy: We finished production on it at the end of July, and then I went right to rehearsals for the play. Denis Villeneuve, who directed it, is cutting it now. I play two roles in “An Enemy.” It’s actually the story about a man who is married and his wife is pregnant with their child. He, at the same time, in another personality is having an affair, and there are two personalities and he needs to reconcile the two in order to make a commitment to his marriage. It’s his journey reconciling both sides of himself. At the same time, it’s a thriller on this whole other level, where there could be actually two people. What happens is a question of identity, when you meet yourself. So, there are two things going on but if we succeed at pulling that off – it was a fascinating process, and a very technical process, which I really enjoyed.'

Whether Jake will appear in Prisoners: 'I don’t know exactly. We’re talking about it, yeah. I hope so and I loved working with him [Villeneuve] and if I get to work with him again, it’ll be really exciting. It would be an evolution because my character [in “End of Watch”] does say, “I want to be a detective.."'

Earlier, Jake spoke to the Wall Street Journal again about acting on stage night after night in If There Is and how hard it is to cope with the physicality of acting: '[Laughs] I don't really think about that. Just given the experience I've had, even preparing for "End of Watch" and the police officers—the hours that they spend, the work that they do. My job just seems absurd, and the work and the time I put into it always seems a pittance in comparison. I try to feel great every night and I honestly feel blessed. Four hundred and fifty people actually fill up that auditorium every night to come see our show. All of us have been sick at one point or another, and we actually end up turning out better performances when we're more tired or our bodies are physically pressed.'

There is much, much more in these interviews so do check them out.

Paul Dano, recently announced for Prisoners, has been talking a little about the possibility of working with Jake. It would seem that people involved with Prisoners are a lot more certain about Jake's involvement in the film than he wants to admit to! 'I don’t think I can say much about Prisoners, since it’s in pre-production. I hung out with Jake once, and he was a really great guy, and we meant to hang out again. I’ve never met Hugh. I hear he’s a good man'

Thanks to BBMISwear for the link to the first video and to IHJ for all they do.

If There Is gets an extension and Prisoners gets a date - 20 September 2013!

Busy days ahead for Jake Gyllenhaal! It appears that the play If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet has been so successful, with so many people clamouring for tickets, that its run has been extended by two weeks. It will have a well-deserved rest from 25 November and then resume on 8 December and carry on until 23 December. It sounds as if Jake wanted to earn some extra Christmas money now that he has another niece to buy for. Full details at Playbill.

The  other big piece of news is that Prisoners has a release date before it's even begun. Deadline has announced that the film will  be released on 20 September 2013. Less than a year away, this puts its release firmly in festival season. It is quite possible that next year we will see the release of both Prisoners and An Enemy - surely a film made for TIFF thanks to its Toronto background - within days of one another.

The non-news is that End of Watch premiered in the UK yesterday at the London Film Festival and there's not a jot of publicity for it. One can only hope that its PR team realise that a film does not cease to exist once it leaves US shores, especially if it wants bums on seats.

I'm seeing End of Watch at LFF tomorrow and so a review will follow this weekend.

Harris Savides, the great cinematographer who worked on Zodiac with David Fincher, died this week. A great loss. Take a trip back to April 2007 with this post on Harris, Jake and David.

Thanks very much to IHJ for the new photos of Jake at the TIFF press conference.
