Jake Gyllenhaal out for dinner with Naomi 14 June 2007
Having had lunch with his mother Naomi Foner on 14 June, it made perfect sense for Jake Gyllenhaal to go one better and take her out for dinner that night in New York's West Village. Although Jake is all smiles in some of the photographs, as he has been in so many recently, in others there seems a hint of protection given and comfort sought.

I dearly love seeing Jake and Maggie out and about with their family. Are there pics out there of other actors/celebrities with their parents? I've never seen any, but then I don't "follow" any others.
Hi Beckela - I don't know how usual this is at all. But I suppose, we do tend to think of the Gyllenhaals as a family unit, each meber supporting the other. I suppose that's because they're all in the public eye to a greater or lesser extent but they do seem to enjoy spending time together and seem to not mind any amount of travelling to come together.

Nothing better than a close knit family to help each other through difficult times and to celebrate the wonderful ones. We should all be so blessed! It says so much for Jake's character that he is not embarrassed to be seen with his mother. They recently had a poll somewhere about which celebrity was the best when it came to spending time with their parents. Jake wasn't even considered. Like Beckela said, I hardly ever see anyone else with their parents as much as Jake is. The only other ones that come to mind are Tom Cruise and Leo Di Caprio. But never as often as Jake!
