Alison on Jake Gyllenhaal - 'You're actually quite fit in real life, aren't you?'

You have to admire some interviewers - a little bit of cheek and what do you get? A kiss on the lips (or the cheek?) from Jake Gyllenhaal, well worth the embarrassment of having him notice that you keep your pens in your bra. I hope you all enjoy the video (in the post below and linked to here) brought to you by the valiant and much appreciated efforts of Twisted Logic and WDWTL Productions.

New pictures have emerged of Jake at the Comedy Central studio for the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I just saw the show itself - thanks to IHJ! - and I just hope Meryl Hot Bitch Streep has a sense of humour! And now the countdown to Ellen and Jake in a Pinny.

Pictures from IHJ.

Weee, thank you Twistedlogic and WDW for the video of Jake on This Morning! How adorable and charming and Allision is hilarious and cheecky. LOVES it!!

And the Daily Show was FANTASTIC as I expected. Jake and Jon is the BEST combination. Love those boys and calling Meryl a hot bitch, LOLOL.

Ah, this Jake Week has been amazing!

Hey Get Real - I couldn't believe it when Jake called Meryl a Bitch! It's like calling the Queen something I couldn't possibly say :D Some snazzy handshakes on that one.

An embarrassment of riches

And I've Rendition in 4 hours It's quite possible I may keel over - Jake prop me up!

Thank you to TL and WDW for the This Morning link..I don't think I have laughed so much during a Jake interview before...and that's saying something. He is so gloriously flirty, charming, cheeky and gorgeous in this! I think I swooned from start to finish. Loved the Daily Show too. Can't wait for Ellen now..Yep, this Jake week is amazing, and it's not over yet!

Hi Rosie - I feel a bit overwhelmed by it at the moment - I have another cold so that might explain some extra heightened emotion! Then again, maybe not - all due to Jake. Every show exceeds my expectations and they're very high ;) Jake rises above and beyond. But so funny!

WDWTL Productions, wow -

I just loved this interview with Allison Hammond - she's wonderful and lively. Comparing her interviews to morally ambiguous interrogations? Very funny . . . and getting a kiss from Jake, gotta hand it to her for managing that! Very fun interview, I like cheeky. ;)

Loved him on Jon Stewart too; more Red Sox, what's not to love? The "Meryl" comment(s) . . . I wish he'd stop tormenting us with all of these comments about liking older women. ;)

And, just saw him on Ellen - my favorite so far, he's so handsome and charming, and I love when he calls her "baby" and "babe"! Love these pics and the steel blue tie. ;) Thanks, guys, Jake week has been incredible, and Rendition this weekend!

I've just got back from the supermarket, where a bloke actually asked me what the joke was cos I was walking around grinning to myself! I told him he wouldn't get it ;D
That interview was so funny! Next time Jake's in London I'm going to stuff a load of pens down my top and carry a notebook with drawings of his film titles! Add that to the fact I'm older than him, and I can't fail!!

Thanks for the pics, WDW! Is it me or has his beard grown a couple of inches since Tuesday (or whenever it was that it looked trimmed, I've lost track of what was on and when!)?

Hey Marina - WDWTL productions was TL's phrase and I'm nicking it ;)

Alsion was nothing like the Big Brother contestant I remember, full of life and not at all in awe of this 'fit' guy in front of her. What a place to keep your pens. As my mum would say 'What if she trips?'

Jake's obviously now a huge Red Sox fan. I liked his story about walking round NYC in the cap, just waiting to be taken on.

And you've seen Ellen! OMG... Takes big swig of holiday beer... Can't wait for that :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Twisted Logic - I can just imagine you walking around grinning. I've got a temperature and I can't work out how much of it is my cold or Jake!

Those pictures were taken yesterday. Noone's beard grows as fast as Jake's - he needs to get the clippers out already :D

Thank you so much for that Allison Hammond interview, surely made my day. He was awesome on the Daily Show, let's hope Meryl has a sense of humor WDW!!

We are all on gyllenoverload and lovin' it.

I feel for you, WDW! I've got a banging headache right now and it's all because of Jake overload;D Have to go and pick up TL Jr now, I'm sure she's going to get one of those t-shirts printed with an arrow saying "I'm NOT with Stupid" :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Glad you liked it Chillinwitgyllen -she definitely gave Jake a run for his money :D Gyllenoverload - should be a listed medical condition. Seeing Rendition is just going to be too much!

Hope your head feels better Twisted Logic - I think we're all going to have to lie down in a darkened room for a month...

Off to see Rendition!! See you all later :D

Jake laughing, Jake cooking, Jake doing impressions...unless he dresses up as Mr Darcy, this couldn't be a more perfect week!

"A little bit of cheek, and what do you get?"

Keep that in mind, 'when in Rome', WDW!

Jake overload - I dunno - feels like rolling in clover, but then Im just doing the rolling, some of you guys are doing the down and dirty techno work.

Allison show was great! - and I love Jake with Jon.

Can't wait for Ellen!

Oh, I forgot to mention how much I appreciated Allison's "bring plenty of tissues and don't wear mascara" warning, especially having it delivered via Jake! ;) I cry at everything and usually come to a film armed with plenty of tissue. I'm already tearing up a little when I see the trailer with the distraught Isabella trying to find out something, anything about what's happened to husband! Allison is very refreshing and real, and those are only some of the qualities I admire about Jake too! ;)

"You're actually quite fit in real life, aren't you?"

And Jonathan being blown away by Jake's stomach.

This is all so globally hilarious and delicious I can hardly stand it!

How are y'all remaining standing?

Hey Pia! Don't get me wrong, I'm loving every minute of Jake Week and I don't mind the techno work one bit cos I know how much I appreciate the great techno work by everyone else, but it can be "intense";D Wouldn't have it any other way though!

Enjoy Ren-dish-on, WDW! I have to go out in a minute too (not to see Jake sadly, I have to wait another 18 hours or so for that) but can't wait to watch Jon Stewart and Ellen when I get back!!

Funniest thing happened. I saw Rendition at a regular screening at TIFF. Of course I was "caught up" in Jake. Then I went to the Gala at TIFF with WDW and some other JakeFriends and again, very exciting night, etc. Enjoyed the film both times...especially Jake.
A couple of days ago, I attended a free screening of Rendition and saw it for the third time. And I cried. There were three times where I cried. This time, I watched it in a quieter way, absorbing the entire story and everyone else's performances, and it made me cry. Now if even half the people who see it react like that,...IMHO, this is a very powerful, flawless film. Gavin Hood did an incredible job and there wasn't a false note in it anywhere. The performances were perfect. The script was perfect, the storyline was structured perfectly.

Interesting sidebar: When Meryl Streep was on TDS, she said she and Gavin played around with her scene with Peter, and he let her write some things and say some of her own words. That's the kind of collaboration that works well. When a director and his actors can do that. But I found it just so amazing that seeing it that third time made me cry. I think it might affect others of us that way as well. I think when you first see it you will be, perhaps "caught up" in seeing when Jake is on,bcz it jumps back and forth btwn story lines, but if you see it a second time for the full appreciation of the film, it might affect you.

bobbyanna, Im glad Rendition has proved out after several viewing to be a fine film in your view.

there is so much to absorb when watchng a film, while, at the same time, we are being protective of our own feelings - especially the deeper feelings! - and so I am not surprised that it took a few viewings to uncover these feelings.

I have found this true of a number of films, and am beginning to assume, just as in reading a fine story, that we can miss alot, first time around.

Have fun WDW...make sure your give us your critique (even though you already saw it). Getting ready for Ellen myself. BTW, I taped everything on VCR and going to burn all the interviews onto disc if anyone is interested.

Hi my friends! I've just got back from Rendition - I'm feeling extremely emotional and I'm reaching out for a Gyllenhug from you all - believe me, tomorrow, when so many of us have seen it, we could be a mess here!

Thanks so much for your comments - I'm just going to get a glass of Zinfandel and I'll be back...

...that's better - Cheers :D

Hey Bmg - this is one of those perfect Jake weeks. I think quite possibly the best ever Jake week :D

Positively Pia - thank you so much for the present in the post today *) A big hug to you. I love how Jake and these shows are pulling us all together - isn't it great! Sometimes, I don't know how I'm standing either.

Marina - see my new post - you'll need the tissues but they'll be worth it. I'm seeing Rendition tomorrow and I'm countingthe moments. I've considered myself a Zodiacer through and through but I knew we were in for something special with Rendition and now this may be my new favourite.

Twisted Logic - hope you'e having a good time :) I agree it's an emotionally draining week but in every way it's good. I'm just glad I took some time off work, otherwise it would be too much. But you're doing all the techie stuff - we're going to have to hold an award ceremony for you... :)

Bobyanna - your comment is amazing and what is also incredible is that I feel just the same. I was in tears for a considerable part of Rendition tonight. I knew the twists and turns that were coming but there was so much new for me once I wasn't so consumed with Jake! I still found his beauty an extreme distraction! but I got caught by the great skill of Jake's colleagues. I truly believe this is a great film about a difficult, but important subject, and it doesn't shirk. It's brave and the fact that Jake's character doesn't give into cliches makes Jake's acting mature beyond his years. He's just 26! Incredible!

Hi Chillinwitgyllen - are you ok?! That was quite an exclamation there! I wouldn't say no to a disc (flutters eyelashes demurely and pleadingly...) :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Chilliwitgyllen - I just saw Ellen - now I understand! *)

(((((((((((((WDW)))))))))))))))) There's a belated hug for you as you were needing one earlier.
The mundanities of RL have kept me away from here until really late tonight,so I haven't had the chance to see Ellen yet,I'll have to try and squeeze it in between work and "Rendition" tomorrow!

Thus far,as you may have gathered from my previous posts, Alison Hammond's glorious interview is by far my favourite of the current crop, although Jake was typically funny, fit and feisty with Jon Stewart too,but more in a "It's a man thing" kind of way.

SO much Jake,so little time, this is such a mind-blowing week. Thanks to the WDWTL production team for making sure we get to wallow luxuriously in every glorious photo and video clip, just great to share the experience with everybody here :-)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Thanks for the hug Nadine!

It's interestingthinking which have been our favourite shows - for me my faves are probably Ellen (as I knew it would be), Letterman (Gooberballs), This Morning (You're quite fit in real life - give us a kiss) and Conan (it's not in your glove man). But then I also adore the Heart interview. For me, my least favorite has been Jon Stewart surprisingly as just too much like man talk I suppose.

And now it's down to our experiences of Rendition and Rome :D

Can i just say. After seeing all this beautiful Jake!TV the past few days, one of the things that really impresses me is how naturally poised Jake is. If I go thru the catalogue of his guest appearances, every single one was unique. There was nothing canned about him. He really is conscious of his host and of his audience. And he is a pure delight. Seeing him with Alison, with Jon Stewart, with Ellen, I got a sense that I was seeing a bit of the real Jake. But I also felt that way watching him with Conan, Jonathan, Regis and Kelly, and David Letterman. He might have been a bit more reserved, but he was always Jake and he seems like just the sweetest, most emotionally accessible, beautiful person! Very natural and quick on his feet!(sigh!) I just adore him. (I think I am totally on Jake overload. And I don't even care!!!)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Bobyanna - Never enough Jake! Not even this week :D I love how you describe Jake as 'emotionally accessible'. He gives away a great deal in these interviews.
