Jake and Jessica on the Nailed set - and there are hair issues

Today, thanks to IHJ, we have new pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of Nailed, and our first sight of Jake with his co-star Jessica Biel. These pictures, taken yesterday (30 April), show Howard and Alice attending a funeral, and demonstrate that - yet again! - another of Jake's films may be presenting us with some serious hair issues. Good to see you Jake!

Last year, Jake was the winner of the AfterElton Hot 100 poll - the vote has now opened for 2008 - you know your duty! The results will be published on 2 June.

Pictures thanks to IHJ.

Hi WDW! Jakey stuff hot off the presses once more - Yay!!!

The After Elton site politely asks women and straight men not to vote as they are trying to gauge the popularity of their hot 100 in terms of what's attractive to gay and bisexual men. I think we might just have to gatecrash the party, what say you?

Love the new pictures from the "Nailed" set, great to see Jake involved in filming again and even if the hairstyle is not exactly what we had in mind for our boy, must say he still looks bloody gorgeous! Grrrrrrrr! (please excuse girly swooning ;-) !)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Nadine! I saw that but only after I voted :D Asking me to not vote for Jake.... well, it's just not right. And we do know that Jake appeals to everyone so we're just reflecting that ;D

Jake does look bloody gorgeous! I feel the need to get the scissors out on that fringe though - I hate to think what Ruby will say :D Girly swooning is perfectly admissable.

Oxford is full of very drunken people who saw in the May Day dawn this morning with the choir and then headed to the pubs at 6am. Can't go anywhere without bumping into Morris Dancers... Ooh, going off topic... Jake is hot :D

twistedlogic said...

LOL! That is such a politician's haircut :D And such a politician's smirk too. The hair also makes Jake look really young, possibly too young to be a politician, but he's looking hot so I guess I can overlook that. I'm getting more intrigued by this film every day.

The AfterElton poll is a bit of a dilemma, me being a law abiding citizen and all that;) But I remember reading a quote from Madonna once, where she described herself as being like a gay man inside a woman's body, which I can kind of relate to, given my predilection for all things slashy, so maybe I could qualify to vote on that basis?

Speaking of voting, I hope all my fellow Londoners today will do their bit to ensure that Tory pillock Boris Johnson doesn't become our Mayor!!

Anonymous said...

I keep insisting Im NOT a gay man in a st woman's body, Im just a st woman who has some stuff in common with gay men such as Jake haha, and Im gonna gate crash, also. Honestly!

Glad to see Jake, but when I get him to myself, the hair is gonna be the way I like it. And Im gonna make him Do Stuff.

Haha guess I need to start my own production company.

Hey fresh asparagus is ready in fields! Happy May Day - lets all run into the sea nekkid! (brrrr)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey there TL - I know, Jake looks so much younger than he did in Rendition - I wonder when this film's coming out - I want to see Congreesman Jake :D

I'm crossing everything I have that Boris does not become mayor - how many times can you vote in that poll? ;D

Morning Pia! Bit parky for jumping in the sea. Thing about Jake's hair here is that I want to ruffle it up a bit.

I'm having an electrical crisis this afternoon.... :(

Anonymous said...

He does look decidely devilish in these pics, doesn't he? ;) Looking forward to seeing Nailed.

Gay man in a woman's body, I've thought of that too - maybe in a past life, or the next life. But I'll refrain from voting. ;)

Happy May Day, all! :)

Monica said...

He is laughing at a funeral?

This hair is funny!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Happy May Day Bertie :D Devilish... yes, he does. I've been missing Jake - it's so good to see him.

Hi Monica - I know, that's a very odd expression for a funeral! Odd expression, odd hair but looking adorable :D

sass said...

Morning WDW and everyone:)Happy May day dawn to everyone:)

Jake's gorgeous even with the comb over hair..EEK!

Is this site asking us not to vote for our Jakey and... Wha/Why???

Jake has a girlfriend which is not a happy making event in many parts of his fandom...so perhaps he isn't a popular guy with gay men anymore and they don't want us to skew the vote count.. Silly season is still on about Jake and Reese.

I miss Heath a lot, and since Jake is the only one of our dear BBM boys left, and since women helped make that movie a huge success, I don't understand the request from AF EL???

I have a poll on favorite young black actors...no white voters please...Y'all get my drift...silly season at AF EL:)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sass - Jake and 'combed over' hair are words that don't belong in the same sentence :D

Anonymous said...

what? I can't vote on the afterelton poll?? but I appreciate hot men better than gay men! lol... and i have 3 different IP addresses, so yeah, i'd vote for Jake 3 times :)

i have to say the side-parting hairdo looks kind of strange now. but hey, Jake is still about 1000 times hotter than everyone there (or anywhere else)... and he looks like kind slim there.. or maybe it's the black.

but he does look kind of young for a congressman (even an immoral/clueless one), no?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey TL - I just noticed - have you changed your avvie? Looking good!

Hi Winterbird, you go girl with your multi-IP addresses :DD
Jake does look slimmer again, doesn't he? I do like it when he's looking older and more cuddly, but I'm not complaining! Just looking so good and the hair is just very combed - I'm sure the immoral congressman gets his hair messed up on a few occasions in the film :D

Nicole said...

great pics! I also thought when I saw Jake in person that he looked really young..there are a lot of girl scouts in this movie.. I also noticed a lot of girls wearing that same outfit the day I went to the set. I have seen that man before who is in the priest outfit..don't know his name though. I wonder whose funeral they are going to because Jake is smiling..

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Nicole :D So many girl scouts... I wonder if the funeral is for the Speaker of the House - the cookie choker.

twistedlogic said...

In fairness to AfterElton, the object of their poll is to determine which men are most attractive to gay or bisexual men, so I can see their point, it wouldn't be an accurate reflection of that if women or straight men voted. If it was a vote about say, teenagers' views on a particular issue, you wouldn't ask a bunch of 30 year olds. I doubt the organisers of this poll have any vested interest in who wins it (and like all online polls it's only a bit of trivial fun anyway) so I really don't think there's any kind of sinister anti-Jake conspiracy going on ;) I'm actually a big fan of conspiracy theories, but I just don't think there's one here:)

WDW - yes I actually changed my avatar pic a week ago, to coincide with the site's first anniversary, as it was the first pic of Jake in your first post;)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Awww ((((TL))) - wish that was a real hug for that! I love that picture and it's so cool you changed it for the site's birthday. I am slow on the uptake... :P

I agree, not much of a conspiracy here. You remember that other poll last year where we had to pretend to be American teenagers!! I think we pulled it off....

twistedlogic said...

I suppose I should change my pic now, in case it's like birthday cards and it's bad luck to leave them up for more than a week. But I do love that pic, the lip biting is so cute and sexy :D
And yeah, I think I remember that poll, didn't we need a US postcode for it? I don't think I voted in the end cos I wasn't sure how to make one up...

Wet Dark and Wild said...

The electrician came round - I think he was quite taken by my display of Jake Gyllenhaal calendars, autographs and framed pic of Jack Twist with a sheep. I'm very grateful to the electrician for solving the worrying problem of having smoke bellowing out of my wall sockets :O ('bellowing' may be a slight exaggeration)

TL - don't change the pic, I love that one and it gives me a happy feeling :D

I think for that poll I took the zip code of the cinema in LA where I first saw Zodiac :)

BirdGirl said...

Afternoon and Evening all,

Happy May Day! And it's a good one at that with new Jake pix.

His hair is so strange. I just want run my hands through it and mess it up. Wouldn't that be fun?

I am glad to hear your electric is under control now. We wouldn't want WDW central to catch fire. Oh the horror! I am sure the electrician has seen many strange things in peoples homes so I would worry about your Jake paraphernalia.

I am a bad gay man trapped in a womans body. I voted. Hey I watch rerun episodes of Queer as Folk doesn't that count for something?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi there Bird Girl :D Oh, the things an electrician must see.... Ahem.

When it comes to running your hands through Congressman Jake's combed over hair, you have to get in line, and it's a slow moving one! :D

Ruby said...

I hate to think what Ruby will say :D

Ruby is not happy :(

Honestly when I first saw the pics I thought they were deleted scenes from Donnie Darko or something. Jake looks so young and so nerdy - like Donnie has had his hair combed neat and parted by his mom for the event! :D

I am going to leave After Elton to their voting, since I am not part of their desired demographic for this poll. I'd be interested to see the result, though. :) (I don't think there's a conspiracy to manipulate the result either).

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Ruby - I knew you wouldn't be happy :( Definitely got that combed by mum look.

But he is at a funeral in this scene, maybe he'll be less combed in other scenes... Jake really needs to get some hair clauses into his contracts - especially if he does PoP :\ Could be some product on that hair too....

Anonymous said...

I agree with Rubes, the poll is to assess what gay men think so even though I am the obviously very common woman-trapped-in I will not skew the vote. Too law-abiding.

Talking of votes, Brian for mayor! And sorry, but I dislike Ken more than I dislike Boris, even though they are both caricatures :D

Jakey's hair is congressman hair, that's OK, at least there's not a beard.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and I agree with TL :D *

And I meant gay man trapped in, not the other way round :D - this is what half a glass of white does to you.

Anonymous said...

nah... no conspiracy. if anything, gay men found straight men (or perceived straight men) sexier. i think gay-friendly is the key word.

i am sorry to report that i've already pretended to be modern gay man and voted twice for Jake... yeah, sue me.

i'm like Bird Girl, I watch reruns of QaF, I even watched reruns of Queer Eyes... and i read more m/m fictions than my happily married gay friend. so yeah, that amount to something, eh?

now can I queue to mess up Jake's hair?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Anouska - interesting description of yourself there in the first comment! :D I'm sorry, I've skewed it and you and Ruby had better hide your laptops from me.... :D

I like Ken - well some of his decisions - obviously not bendy buses and also the tubes are too hot. Just please no Boris - he used to be my MP.... I'm off the booze tonight, I'm being good :D

I wouldn't mind just a little bit of scruff - an unkempt congressman would be good.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Winterbird - you can be at the back of the Jake hair ruffling line because you have spiked the results of the poll (actually, that reminds me, I should turn on my PC - another IP....). With all of those interests, I'm just glad you find time for some Jaking here! Unfortunately, I no longer have time for anything but WDW and a few pages of Catcher in the Rye on the bus.

Hm, looks like Access Hollywood picked up on the Jake restaurant rumor. Organic Italian seems to be his angle. I'd eat it.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Ashton Kutcher and Jennifer Lopez could have some new competition in the celebrity restaurant market, as Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly in the process of developing his own posh eatery.

The actor is rumored to be planning an organic restaurant with an Italian flair, according to Britain’s Big Hospitality.

The “Rendition” star, who is reportedly a “closet chef,” plans to travel throughout Italy to draw inspiration for his upcoming restaurant.

Jake is reportedly seeking advice from chef Mario Batali for his upcoming culinary endeavor. Jake has appeared on Mario’s cooking show, “Molto Mario,” multiple times and Mario is reportedly a close friend of the Gyllenhaal family.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey there JoeAnn :D That rumour is just everywhere now! Like wildfire the way some of these things spread. But if it were to be true then you can't go wrong (well, maybe I could) with organic Italian. Talking of which, I think I'll rustle something up.

Anonymous said...

if Jake opens a restaurant in LA, then it's the perfect reason to go there.... :)

glad to hear that your electricity problem is solved, WDW... I just found out today that my meter has gone, need to ask the porter where they've moved it to!.. who knows, maybe we don't have to pay!

on top of that, my oven has gone kaputt, we are waiting for a new delivery, so have been making lots of italian pasta dishes. I wonder what pasta dishes Jake fancies... red sauce, white sauce or j Iust olive oil, garlic and herbs?

sorry for the mundane domestic whingings

Ruby said...

According to Britain’s Big Hospitality.

I was curious so I checked out this website. it's a site for the UK hospitality industry. I notice that this stpry has considerably more views than any other (like Hester Blumenthal winning an award and a new taco restaurant in London) to about the power of 10. Seems if you want your site to get more hits, the Gyllenfactor will do it. :D

I just remembered, I have to go out and vote this evening too - Local Government elections.

Can I be at the front of Jake's hair queue please? I'm sharpening my scissors. :D

paulh said...

I'm enjoying those pictures of Jake and Jessica on the set of "Nailed." Jake's expression looks to be one of amusement. Probably going to be a fun movie....

The thing is, if Jake has a busy film schedule ahead of him this summer, when will he find time to travel in Italy? Wouldn't it make more sense to delegate Chris for that?

A simple plate of mozzarella cheese and tomato slices can be a meal when you're in Italy. Or, if you're in Florence, a sandwich of spinach and mozzarella. Last night, I celebrated my birthday will salmon and spinach and pasta. Nothing complicated.

sheba said...

Ruby, I thought it finishes at 7pm - thought I'd missed my chance to vote. Do I still have time?

Can I cue jump just to the middle of the 'Jake hair ruffle' cue? My excuse..... er... um... I have a very weak bladder and will only have time for a quickie ruffle then I can leave the rest of you to it :D

The hair suits the part perfectly, slick, sleazy congressman!

Iron Man tonight *does the happy dance* I'm so happy for RDJ. Sorry.. back to topic

I believe that Congressman Ryder is smiling in that ;knowing way' probably because Alice may have had another 'nailed' attack and dragged him behind a crypt for some 'pain relief'. Just a thought...;D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Ruby, I had a look at that site too - very intriguing. I really think Jake should open a restaurant here, myself. Should go down a treat. He can put it next to the one Jamie Oliver's opening :D

I suppose as keeper of the scissors you can get a good spot in the queue, but behind me, comprendez?

I voted earlier, in a caravan in the middle of a field, miles from here :(

Many congratulations for your birthday yesterday, Paul :D I love salmon. And the simpler Italian dishes are definitely the best - so long as they're stuffed full of garlic :)

I love that expression on Jake's face too.

sheba said...

Happy Birthday Paul, a sophisticated meal indeed. I'd love to go to Florence to experience their food. In Rome, the pasta dishes were to die for. Another Italian visit is definitely due soon.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sheba :D

I think you can vote til 10pm.

Well if you promise to be quick you can get a good spot in the queue too :D We're generous like that. Interesting theory about the 'pain relief'! So many Iron Man ads on TV - can't wait to see it at the weekend :)

Ruby said...

I suppose as keeper of the scissors you can get a good spot in the queue, but behind me, comprendez?

Fine, I can cut off whatever mess you make! :D

Polling stations are open until 10pm Sheba.

This food talk is making me hungry. Hope the hunter-gatherer gets home soon.

sheba said...

Oh thanks, will do it later when I go out.

Hope that kid knows how lucky she is to be so 'up close and personal' ahhh to be 9 years old again.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

All this food talk made me open a tub of icecream and I just ate half of it...

I'm settling down for some Jake this evening - Zodiac with the commentary by the giggly JBG and our mate RDJ. Then some Brokeback. I just want to say that the opening scenes of Zodiac are incredible - music, cinematography, direction, acting, period details - amazing.

Hey Sheba, that girl's making memories :D

twistedlogic said...

I think I should be first in the queue for Jake's hair, cos I kinda like it long and you lot all want to cut it! But I will let Sheba go before me, on condition that you go out and vote for ABB - Anyone But Boris! I honestly can't bear the thought of that ignorant pompous clown being our representative to the world, we'll be an international laughing stock. Now I know how people in the US must have felt when they realised George Bush was their new President. Besides, I quite like having cheap clean buses to travel on and I'd like to keep things that way:)

Sorry about the political rant...back to Jake's hair...hands off until I've had my turn!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

It sounds like you're too busy dragging people off to the polls, TL, to have any time to spend in the hair queue :D

twistedlogic said...

Well, there's only about ten minutes left, plenty of time for Jake to get his shirt off and then I'm all his. Besides I'm sure Jake would love to hear all my reasons why Boris shouldn't win while I'm playing with his hair;D

twistedlogic said...

^Just read that back, I mean of course, while I'm playing with Jake's hair, not Boris's!! Yuck. Actually, that's another reason why I don't like Boris - his hair is awful. Jake could certainly teach him a thing or two in that department:D

Xenia said...

That meal with mozzarella and tomato slices is called 'caprese' here in Italy and it's a delicious meal!:)

Hey WDW and everyone, it's good to have Jake back with us, looking gorgeous but, I have to say it, those hair are terrible!

Ergo, I claim my place in that hair queue...;)

sheba said...

this is a political thread after all - Jake's hair especially. Thanks TL for letting me push in. Just come back from voting but unfortunately I'm not from your neck of the woods so couldn't have voted for the floppy haired former-Tory twit even if I wanted to. LOL about Bush though waking up to that news :D Ive got this calendar thing that counts down the number of days he has left in office and has some real Bushism gems for each day. 264 days left and today's gem:

"The important question is, How many hands have I shaked?"..Answering a question about why he hasn't spent more time in New Hampshire; NTTimes 23/10/1999.

I think that man has done that throughout his whole presidency.. Oh Lord.

twistedlogic said...

Hi Sheba! Sorry about that, for some reason I thought you lved in London. My mum has a calendar like that Bush one too -it's hilarious :D Actually it's quite scary when you think about it, so hopefully sanity will prevail and we won't be lumbered with our very own version here. Back to Jake...Jake doesn't like Bush either, remember those pics of him and his dogs playing with the Bush dog toy :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Just been looking at those cycling pics on the post again, from Interview and I have to say that there we see Jake's hair as it was always intended :D And muscles...

Sorry, where were we? Oh yes, the polls are shut and hopefully, TL, you won't have to play anymore with Boris' hair :DD I'd forgotten those pics with the toy - oh I've got to find those :D

Hey Xenia - your place is reserved :D You could bring us some Italian snacks while we wait and while Ruby sharpens her scissors.

Hey, Sheba, I'd not heard of that calendar - what a way to count down the year :D

sheba said...

^ and his commentary on Bubble Boy (his feelings were obvious even though he didn't say the words outright). Now now people I was invited .... hey, you stop pushing at the back - you'll get your turn.

I think Londoners are quite saavy (those that bother to vote anyway)and should make the right choice. I wish I did live in London sometimes - I'd be nearer to family.

sheba said...

Hey WDW, I need to have a gyllengiggle in the mornings so I look at the inane stupid moronic quotes of the 43rd president of the United States for my inspiration. Its a small desktop calendar called 'George W. Bushisms - Accidental Wit and Wisdom '

Anonymous said...

Hey all!

Yes, we have hair issues in the new pics, but he still looks fantastic. As Sheba said it is a perfect haircut for a his sleazy Congressman. Many have that type of look...I kid you not. Anyway, Jake looks great for the part! And can I just say I LOVE the smirk even if it is at a funeral. :p He seems really in character. These pics are really making me excited for Nailed!

I want to cheat and vote in the AE poll. Nadine, I want to gatecrash with you, lol.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Sheba, I love Jake's commentaries - the Bubble Boy is hysterical. It will be good to see Jake outting some of that humour to use in a movie again.

And you're looking good too, Sheba! Love the pic :D

Anonymous said...

ETA: I am no fan of Republican Congressman but the bland hair (which I would never want Jake to have otherwise) does work here. ;)

Sorry you were/are having electrical problems WDW. Hope they get sorted out asap.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Get Real, we were posting at the same time :D Go on, cheat with the poll - you know you want to!

Maybe Jake starts off all sleazy looking, with the smirk, and then gets all ruffled and unsleazy when he crosses over to the good side. I love the smirk too! I don't think it matters it's at a funeral, it is a comedy movie funeral after all (oh blimey, that just put some memories in my head from an episode of Absolutely Fabulous).

Jake really does look in character - in a suit but looking nothing like Douglas Freeman - Jake's so good at that.

sass said...

I am sneaking over to vote too.:lol:lol

I can't resist a Jake vote. I still don't get it TL but I don't think it's a conspiracy, if that's how I sounded...I'm just questioning the motives, I think..
I watched some of the May Day dawn celebrations on CNN and it looks like way too much fun. I am totally jealous:)

My son is off to see Iron Man with friends at 9PM tonight. This movie should be a commercial success. It has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with Robert receiving rave reviews from nearly all the critics.
GO Robert Downey Jr!!
sass

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Thanks Get Real - I have some lovely new sockets in my walls now :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sass - love all this voting going on - it's like a real 'Rock the Vote' thing :D Just can't wait to see Iron Man at the weekend - it's wonderful to have a movie like this that will introduce Robert to a new audience. Hopefully GP will be ok :/

That's great you saw some of the Oxford May Day celebrations :D - fortunately it didn't rain this morning so it didn't matter to much when everyone passed out drunk in the streets.

If we're having an impromptu poll about favourite Jake hair-styles,think I'd have to vote for his Bafta Hair 2006. Mind you,he looked so damned beautiful from top to toe that night.

A DVD of his acceptance speech should be available on prescription - can't think of a better anti-depressant :-)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Nadine - that was a great night and great hair to go with it. Hmmm, not my favourite. I think mine would have to be Cannes hair - I'll have to dig out some of my faves and do a Hair Post 2 :D I was totally gobsmacked by how beautiful Jake was at the baftas 2007 even though it was longer than normal. Just something about him that night...

Time to find some more icecream :D

sheba said...

Yes, BAFTA 2007 hair was ethereal. Thanks WDW, glad you like the pic - it's my 'Cool Hand Jake' look (inspired by just watching the beautiful Paul Newman recently.

Is Howard Ryder a Republican? Or will it be non-denominational?

Wow about Robert receiving rave reviews. Even if it didn't have critical acclaim I would have seen it. Babysitting issues have prevented me from the preview tonight (I could barely go and vote Grrrr!), however there's always tomorrow.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

It's a gorgeous pic, Sheba. As for Paul Newman :D

I hope everyone in Britain's going to be watching mine and Ruby's Jonathan Ross tomorrow night!

Anonymous said...

Hi, LOL at "and there are hair issues"

Yes, there sure are! It looks even worse than in the first on set pics some days ago! That parting is definitely in the wrong place - too far "outboard"!
Poor Jake - why couldn't they give him a decent haircut??

Re: Yesterdays post about that disaster movie... LOL at everyone being like "OMG! Please don't, Jake!"
That would be also not be a movie I would like Jake to do (with TDAT being my least favourite movie of Jake and all...).
I mean I am also not so excited about the idea of the Prince of Persia movie(s). But there we would at least have the prospect of Jake running around half naked! Um, do I sound shallow?

But what can I say? I am blinded by love, so I will go to the cinema no matter what movie Jake is going to make! LOL!

About the After Elton poll... I think I get their point... Haven't yet decided if I will vote as the gay men I would have probably been if I were born male or not vote as the woman that I am! But damn, it still feels all kinds of wrong not being "allowed" to vote for Jake!

Smoke bellowing out of our wall sockets, WDW? I am glad that the electrician wasn't too distracted by Jake being on display in your home and that he could still save you!!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Uli! Jake seems to be forever doomer to work with directors who want to mess with perfection. In Brothers I reckon the hair will be nigh on perfect but too much facial fuzz - admittedly with the bonus of the sexy neck tattoos :D

I'm trying to block out all thought of 2012 - yes, I'd see Jake in any movie - even (shudder) a gangster movie (another shudder) - and I probably would go and see a summer's big blockbuster disaster movie - but please, no!! PoP has its advantages ;D

Good point about the poll - if I were a gay man my vote would be no different so there!

And thanks - I'm relieved I was spared watching a reenactment of the Towering Inferno (although as I live in a groundfloor flat it wouldn't have been very towering). Fortunately the Jake distractions were not too distracting.

Have a good night everyone :D

Quick...someone give Jake a hat or a scarf or something to cover up that hideous hair...What are they thinking? They can leave the gorgeous face exposed..but that hair has got to go..combover indeed. It appears, to my eye, that Jake has some sort of bad weave or something..That simply cannot be his real hair..yeah? It seems like we saw some pics of him not too long ago and his hair was not nearly that length..or I could be delusional..I have had some reisling this evening.. :-)
Okay..enough rant about the hair..I still enjoyed seeing pics from the set of Nailed..it really whets my appetite for the finished product. Thanks so much WDW for posting...and Pia...I like the way you think!!

I liked Jake's haircut in "The Good Girl" and "Zodiac." He may have had good hair in "Brokeback Mountain," but it was covered up by a hat most of the time.

In any event, he has great hair in his public appearances, so we can always look at those.

So true Paul.

Hi Michelle, I reckon if Jake has to walk around shots with hair like that, the Red Sox cap could be getting a fair bit of use ;D

Thanks Pia :)

Morning Paul and Bird Girl - very true, and I do love to see Jake in that cowboy hat.

Have a good day everyone :D

morning everyone!

so is it really Boris for London? omg :( hubby built a wesbite for gay-rights movement in london for an organisation funded by Ken's office, so i always have a soft spot for him, even though he's a bit crazy sometimes (like how he loves to take black cab to go everywhere)

the more I look at it... the more i think jake's hair there just needs some serious blow-dry, it looks kind of flat. a little gel and a blow-dryer and "our fingers" and he'll be fine :)

KeepCalm+CarryOn said...

HI WDW,good afternoon everypeeps :-)

First of all, apologies to Get Real,I think I may have led you astray! ;-( I'm having a real crisis of conscience here over something as "fluffy" as an internet poll!

While I might have suggested cheekily that we should all schlep over to After Elton and ensure that Jake is No.1 in their survey, having read their plea not to skew their poll which is meant to test the opinion of gay and bisexual men, I've been too shame-faced to actually vote myself! But for Jake to be a candidate and not to vote for him?! Isn't that unthinkable?!

Global warming, third world debt, what to have for lunch - I should be concerning myself with dilemmas like that but instead I'm shilly-shallying about subverting a Jake poll! What a numpty,as my friends in Scotland would say! :-)

Anonymous said...

An ethical dilemna! And I have discovered an even more urgent issue than that of the After Elton site poll - lots of people (like me) were taught to spell dilemna with an "n" whereeas no such thing in dictionaries! I really hate to write dilemma, it sounds like phlegmma, unpleasant.

Well the After Elton site has asked "politely", that's good, and yet one of my primary purposes in life is to (hopefully politely)subvert a heteronormative cultural bias. How can this purpose best be served regardng the AE poll? Hmmm.

In my own life, both gay and straight males continue to want to get into Jake's trousers. They are not at all put off by his public announcements that he is not "persuadable".

Hmmm! My conclusion is that it is okay to vote since because of Jake's gorgeousness all gender designtations (GLBT, undecided, in the closet, straight and so forth) have become meaningless.

Vote Jake in 08! !

(just sayin')

Hey there Winterbird - it does look ike it's Boris, I can hardly believe it. I can imagine that soon there'll be a calendar of his 'witticisms' :( Be enough to fill the London phone book...

Afternoon Nadine! I kind of saved myself the ethical dilemma because I only read the smallprint after I voted :D I don't regret doing it though.

Hi Pia :D Dilemma with an n - not heard that one before. It just makes me feel good to vote for Jake, and when it comes to Jake I can honestly say that I have never been ruled by my head :)

Right on Pia!

Happy weekend everyone.

I see the voting dilemma is still on. I don't regret voting at all. I never ever regret any vote for Jake.
