Prince Jake
As said yesterday, Jake Gyllenhaal's name has now been attached to the IDMb page of the Prince of Persia as the 'rumoured' prince. One poster there, with no sources, has said 'The prince is Jake and the princess is Gemma. Disney will be announcing it by the end of the month.' Hmmm. Thanks to Monica for this teaser poster for the movie from Brazil. Gemma who, I wonder.
Getting Jake's attention
We've joked here about ways in which to attract Jake's attention should an unexpected encounter occur. Here's one method but it does require a large dog: 'I was hiking in the part in West Hollywood with my friend’s yellow lab “Charlie.” He is pretty strong and he got off the leash. I chased him up the hill into a secluded section of the park. I could see a couple in the distance lying on blankets in the grass. “Charlie” jumped on top of the guy and started licking him. When I got closer, I saw that the couple was Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst. I didn’t say anything, as I’m sure they wanted their privacy. I apologized profusely.' Clearly, Charlie is a dog with impeccable taste.

A fairly plausible explanation claims one of Nailed's financing sources collapsed.
The information Nikki Finke has provided in the past has been pretty accurate. So if this is true they will have to find new money to go on.
Hi anon - I love that picture of Jake and Atticus too, it make me want to rush up to both of them and offer them a chair and lemonade in the shade.
I saw that about the financial source breaking down; let's hope that wheels can get moving again on Monday. I can't imagine anyone involved in the production wants to delay it any longer than necessary, or indeed indefinitely. We'll see soon enough. Thanks for commenting :)

Hi Monica :D I hope everything works out well too. Oh yes, it's mother's day in some parts of the world, I'd forgotten about that - our's in the UK is in March. So maybe Jake is cooking dinner for Naomi today :)
This money source has apparently gone but it'll be difficult for a lot of potential backers to find funds at the moment as the climate is risk-averse, especially in the States. This is bad news for anything indie as folks will be looking for guaranteed box office returns, or as near as.

Gemma Arterton? Never heard of her. I see from proimdb that she is due to play Tess in Tess of the D'Urbervilles on TV soon. Interesting how PoP here gets another British connection - should it all be true etc etc etc.

I've done a little research on Gemma Arterton - she has recently filmed the new Bond movie "Quantum of Solace" (to me,a clumsy title)she is a legendary "Bond Girl" to Daniel Craig's Bond. She was also in the recent remake of "St.Trinians". She's 22, dark hair and eyes although she seems to have been dyed deep auburn for the Bond film. If Jake is confirmed as PoP (sorry,please excuse me a wee shudder)then she's also a very,very lucky girl indeed.

Hey Nouskie xxx I used to be a rabid Man Utd fan back in the seventies,the Tommy Docherty era with Steve Coppell,Martin Buchan,the Greenhoff brothers,Stuart Pearson etc etc. Cried buckets one year when we lost the F.A. Cup to Arsenal,I'm ashamed to say (or should I say we were robbed in injury time,eh TL?).
However,over the years football has become a business,ruined by ludicrous amounts of money and the real turning point for me was the Gulf War (The "Jarhead" war to keep things vaguely on topic!!). I was watching a match on the telly and the commentator referred to an incident on the pitch as being a "tragedy" for the players...and I just thought,"This is pathetic. There are younger men - boys really - getting blown to Kingdom come in Kuwait and Iraq. Now THAT's a tragedy!" and my interest waned really quickly from there on in. Football just didn't seem important any more.
So although I still have an abiding affection for Man U.,and I'm pleased for their every success,I've not been an active supporter for years and "The Beautiful Game" just isn't that beautiful to me any more. :-(
And you're right about waiting to see what happens about "Nailed" and "PoP"! Rumours have all too often proved to be so much hog-wash,especially in the media cesspool of Hollyweird! Deary me,I do sound a world-weary soul today,don't I? ;-)Ah well,life's a bitch and then you die ;-D

i think there's a conspiracy of flooding south east England with silver flip-flops, cos I couldn't find any other colour in all the WH Smith I went to. And I couldn't find S/M size either... I got a silver pair which i will probably never wear.
I hope Nailed will resume filming soon. I think it's not uncommon for indie films to get into financial trouble, at least this film has so many well-established stars attached to it, i think there's better chances.
Dogs know it when they sense/see a dog-lover. Plus, if Jake is around Atticus all the time, he would carry the "dog scent" :P so I am not surprised that random dogs on the street would go and lick Jake all over if they can get away with it (I know I would! :P)
Haha... you guys obviously don't read the Metro or any of the free newspaper, Gemma Arterton made some headlines when she had some steamy sex scenes in the movie "Three and Out"... well, not a surprise not many people watch the film, I saw the the name Kerry Katona on it, I'd stay away too!

The very idea of seeing anything with Kerry Katona in it - ugh. I'll be interested in her Tess. My car is a recycling bin of Metros but missed that one :D
I have never seen Kerry Katona in anything, but I note that IMDB.com says that she was in "The most annoying people of 2006," presumably on UK television, which I would not have had access to.
Some people find Cameron Diaz lacking, but I enjoyed her in "In her Shoes," and "What happens in Vegas" and "Holiday" and the Shrek movies.
I can't help wondering if the audiences will realize that "Nailed" was filmed in South Carolina rather than Washington, D.C.

Hi Paul - Kerry Katona is a zzz list 'celebrity' on UK TV and she is quite safely the most annoying person of any year, not just 2006, but especially of 2008 :( I enjoyed In Her Shoes, I wasn't expecting to (as it has Toni Collette in it) but I did. Toni Collette is one of the people that I keep seeing unintentionally, whenever I've seen or tried to see Jake :)
I think with all this publicity about Nailed, most audiences are going to feel like they're in South Carolina! I know I will.
