A night in Paris - Bastille Day fireworks for Jake, Reese and Ava
What a way to finish off Bastille Day and a holiday weekend in Paris - with the world famous fireworks at the Eiffel Tower! According to the source, 'On their last night in Paris, Jake Gyllenhaal, squeeze Reese Witherspoon, and her daughter Ava Elizabeth grabbed dinner at Andre Allard. After the meal, they headed out into the masses to watch the fireworks near the Eiffel Tower.' That is one very handy pair of shoulders.... So, if this the last night, where to next, Jake?

I have a giant TDK billboard up on the road I live, it's of picture of the Joker. I was staring at it yesterday for a full minute before i cross the road... it's going to be weird and emotional... I still don't know how I will feel.
i have to say, Jake's Paris outfits remind me of Heath...
I, too, think that I fell in love with Jake all over again after the Paris adventure. His clothes, his smile, him being so "awwww" with the kids, him being so in love with her. I don't care what other people will say again about them. I see a happy man in these pictures, he's loved, he's needed, he's found the place where he belongs. He does have a family and a wonderful career in front of him. I just want this to last forever. I don't want him to lose any of these.

I love the Bastille Day fireworks pictures, esp. the entranced smiles - love knowing he's gonna read The Once and Future King! - body snatchers haven't muddled with his brain and reading habits, either!
And the lastest picture of Himself - my goodness! He IS fit!

Crikey,WDW,I can't believe how much I've cried this morning...well afternoon too,I've just spent hours on Live Journal,wallowing in,commenting on and laughing/weeping over Ted and Lisa's wonderful account of their South Carolina trip and their incredible experiences with Jake!
It's another Tuesday, 25 weeks on :-( , our beautiful Heath is all over the news channels as the Joker and in archive footage of previous premieres...no wonder I was feeling really emotional anyway today.I'm sure I'm far from alone in that. :-/
Then I got glued to Ted and Lisa's words and they brought the Jake I've so long felt I've known, and continue to love, so sweetly,sharply back into focus and I just want to hug him till it hurts. It is beyond poignancy that he holds on to Heath in the present tense,just heartbreakingly beautiful.
It's a good job that terrific Ted and lovely Lisa punctuated their account with so many genuinely funny moments and Jake-talk to temper the emotion. Theirs is the definitive deposition of a brief encounter with Jake - and this is the definitive Jake site!
Certainly are some fireworks going off looking at those Paris pictures - and the last close-up you've added in is just the business!! How can he bear to be that gorgeous?!!
I wonder if Jake is reading TOAFK for PoP? :) Arthurian legend is very influential in a lot of stories, I love it. Maggie's dress was magnificent for the TDK premiere, wasn't it? There's no hope for me, I started crying already, just from reading about the premiere! I'm still going to see it this weekend tho. :)
p.s. in my view, and I'll shut up any minute now, since Rome, and Heath's death, Jake has been demonized, idolized and also trivialized as a human being in some blogs and magazines - it's been very difficult to keep clear of this stuff. . . I am finding that for myself he is back in focus, now, as a man, and as an actor and a real person and it is a great relief to me. I feel more free to enjoy him, his life, and his csreer.
& I do very much credit WDW with steering a clean course. again, just my view.
Once again I have a wonderful smile on my face from all these beautiful pictures!! Jake...what you do to me...he takes my breath away...sigh...

Was an absolutely beautiful night out last night for TDK premiere. Maggie shone beautifully and I know Heath was there in spirit feeling all the respect, love and admiration people have for him.

I think one of the gifts that Ted and Lisa has given us, is, as you say Pia and Nadine, a renewed focus on our Jake and I also now feel freer to enjoy him and to celebrate his work. Hard to explain why but there it is. And I love the joy that is bursting out of much of the fandom's seams at the moment :D

I really like that US Weekly snap-shot! The wind-swept long hair, along with his dark brows and deep set eyes really give him a hint of savage. I hope it's the look the make-up folks use for his character. In that shot particularly there's a suggestion of something not quite tamed. . . Most definitely a departure for our sweet, civilized Jake. lol
The prospect seeing how Jake handles the sheer physicality of his role in PoP excites me most. I'm not a player, but I understand PoP is one of the few video games with an emotional hero and compelling, dramatic back drop. We already know he excels at drama. What's going to be the most fun is to see him flat out running and jumping and fighting and in general indulging his inner caveman; Macho!Jake. Truth be told, I've always liked his portrayal in Jarhead as much as his work in BBM. Pressed, I could never chose a favorite. Dastan just may be the perfect combination of the two.

On the subject of gorgeous Gyllenhaals,Maggie certainly did look stunning at the premiere, hair swept up off that beautiful face and very fitting to wear black, shot through with bright colours.
And I think it was Winterbird who said how much some of Jake's recent outfits have reminded her of Heath. Jake's stripey tops and beanie hats have been so redolent with Heath it makes me ache!
With all these emotions,sad and joyful,it certainly is an amazing day,WDW!
Hey JoeAnn - I love that you highlighted the untamed quality - I see it too and it does feel new. The game PoP is amazingly exciting, not relying on props and weapons so much as the physique of the Prince. I cannot wait to see Jake in this kind of role, even more so now!

I admire INT more each time I watch it, the third time, for me - new BOSE headphones make a difference. Heath's performance is fine, and I do think of Jake each time I see the scene of the fans screaming at Dylan because he's "not the same person anymore. . . "
Its a gorgeous day in western massachusetts. TDK played at midnight performances in this area, just in multiplexes. Id like the inside dope on marketing of this film; on the other hand, maybe I dont want to know. Im cynical enuff.

I saw the article you're both referring to. Read it this morning on the MSNBC site and, true or not, it made me cringe a little for Jake. Not because I believed it, but because this is how rumors get legs. For what it's worth, if you think about it, it actually says more about Reese's reputation (true or not) as a type A controlling personality than it does about Jake.
With Jake's star ascending and his romance with a fellow A Lister we're just going to have to learn to take these kinds of stories in stride. Some of them are going to be lies and some of them are going to be damned lies. I can't speak for any one else, but *my* opinion of Jake takes precedence for *me*. Not public opinion and certainly not a snarky gossip article's opinion that's written solely to garner hits for the site. Peace, kittehs.

I'll be happy when Jake finally cuts his hair after PoP, I know I'm in the minority but i don't like it that long. I think it doesn't suit him. He looked delish before he left for London.
His outfits in Paris remind me of Heath's too. I like the style on both guys.
TDK premier w/o Heath is so wrong. He shouldn't be dead at all. After TDK he would have been definitive A list and he was even respected before TDK. What a waste, really!
Now I'll be honest too, Reese doesn't look very happy lately, OTOH Jake seems much happier than he was. I hope everythings ok, Jake seems to try very hard to please it seems. I think he's very in love with her. I hope she won't hurt him.

Right... "A SOURCE" told us... but the source never has a name. And no one mentions how many $$ the "source" got for the "information". One one site/magazine you read one thing and on a next one the opposite where another "source" was mentioned.
It's sooo easy to spread rumors with the web. There're more paps "hunting" - want to make the big money.
Unfortunately, people like Jake have *limited* private life but everyone should accept it whatever his decisions are as you accept the decisions close friends make.
I've stopped believing such things a long time ago. Whenever I want to know the truth I ask people being close with no jealousy involved.
Sometimes I get the feeling that these *worried people* are only jealous because they aren't the *chosen* ones.
This blogg is about Jake's work - and that's being honored.
There're sooo many real frightening things going on the web - done by *so called fans* or whatever they are. (One of my friends is leading a fanclub.) You have to check things and then think about what you can do - and you realise that you can't do anything since you can't call an attorney to stop the crap which is going on.

I quit lurking at "other forums" because they got so negative and insulting they ran people away. For the same exact reason.
Every time pictures come out with Jake and Reese being a couple, especially where it shows him involved with her kids, the negativity comes out. People quote ugly gossip, people say disgusting things and behave badly. How sad you must all be that act so negatively.
I adore my Jake! I love to see photos of his life as it unfolds. But we are only fans. We. Know. Nothing. About. Them. At All.
People are talking about someone's personality and no one even knows her on this board. No one's even had lunch with her! LOL!
If we love Jake and think he is such a good person, talented and intelligent, for goodness sake! How can we contradict ourselves into disrespecting people he obviously cares about.
We don't have to like who he likes. But we really should have confidence in his judgement and give him respect.
Just like all the people who jumped to conclusions and were so mean to Jake after Heath died. That is a rotten way to be. Some of you need to check yourselves. WDW is a wonderful, lovely person. I thought this would be a different kind of place. But some of the same nasty people come here,too.
20:41, I think people were just confused because of Jake's silence and worried because there were no official reports he went to a memorial. I thank Ted and Lisa for their report very much, now fans know for sure and can move on. I would say people like 20:41 should leave Heath rip, there's no need to bring him up in this context again.

Ok, so I'm still a bit emotional from reading Ted and Lisa's report and not being able to move for TDK hype - trailer on C4 tonight- and now TL Jr tells me she wants to see it! I'm not sure what rating it is, so I've told her we'll have to wait and see, but I'm more worried about her seeing me lose the plot completely in the cinema than what she might see on screen.

This is really sad. After unplesant nappy changes and kid talk all day I came back here happy and hoping that the afterglow of reading Ted and Lisa's adventures would be permeating around all Jake loving sites and we're getting the same ugliness that has happened to some other sites. This just at a time when we least need it. The premier of TDK is looming and all of this is unnecessary. We love Jake in our own way so why all of this. Friends who I've met here and done a lot of Jaking with please don't let the negativity get to you. Bwoy, 'this is why he's hot' - he sure does generate some heat in here. Pia, I didn't know you were so good at fencing - must be all that secret parkour training ;D

I also wanted to say that reading the adventure was a little like watching BBM where you have a delayed reaction something haunting that hits you days after and you can't articulate exactly those feelings:o/, so right now I won't even try :o)

Agree about the German dubbing, T. But I am quite confident, that there will be a cinema showing an original version where I live. Maybe you get lucky, too, I keep my fingers crossed for you. I don't think, that I would have the strength to wait for the DVD, if there would be only dubbed versions showing, though...
Yeah, maybe Hamburg (90 minutes drive) or Berlin... (2 hours drive by ignoring the speed limits :o) ) but thinking of the prices for gas... I think I'll try to be patient - saves a bit money. :o)

LOL Ruby, the full moon sure does play tricks with the mind. speaking of which as I was driving back tonight I came over the hill and the moon rose up to greet me and made me gasp!
