Jake Gyllenhaal - 'an object of romantic passion'

Tonight emerged the extremely unbelieveable but very amusing yarn - amusing because it is so unbelievable - that a woman at Ealing Studios, West London, has been fired on the orders of Jerry Bruckheimer because of her Mills and Boons-esque ode to her love for Jake Gyllenhaal which she posted on the wall. Apparently, Prince of Persia stuff was taking place at the time, and Jake was about, and the lady's protestations of love were fed by a mischief maker under the door of a trailer.

Jerry Bruckheimer has denied that anyone has been sacked for 'praising Gyllenhaal as an object of romantic passion'. Just as well, as that must be a daily hazard around studios where Jake's about. You'd have thought they'd be used to it by now. It is interesting, however, to see the association of Eaing Studios with Prince of Persia.

Talking of Prince of Persia, a short while ago, I posted a link to an interview with filmset sculptor Robert Bean from Leek, Staffordshire - partly because I have family in Leek and this is the first connection I have ever heard between this one-bar town and Hollywood. Clearly, Leek's newspapers are similarly amazed because today there is another feature about their well-connected son.

While there have been some grumblings about the postponement of Prince of Persia, I think many of us are now resigned to the belief that the extra eleven months will mean, hopefully, an unrushed and spectacularly finished visual treat, in faith with the mood and tone of the games that have inspired it. By interesting comparison, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has also just been delayed and, apparently, the fans are in uproar - Harry and Dumbledore are running for the hills.

Finally, when Jackson Browne wrote the song Running on Empty way back when, I expect he had little idea that all these years later it would be used as an anthem in the campaign to get Republican John McCain elected to the White House. But it is and so Browne, a committed activist, is prosecuting, arguing that the use of his song is an anathema. This song was, of course, an inspiration for Naomi Foner's Oscar-nominated screenplay of the same name. Naomi's daughter Maggie is expected to attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver later in August.

And finally finally, Jeffrey Wells has been trying to find out if Brothers will be included in the Toronto lineup: 'Over the last couple of days I've written and called Sheridan (who's in town) to ask if Toronto might happen, and I've heard nothing back. I asked incoming MGM marketing guy Mike Vollman, who said something along the lines of "I haven't heard" or something like that. I also asked MGM corporate guy Jeff Pryor and he, too, claimed ignorance of the particulars, etc. You can interpret these three guys saying nothing as an indication of something or not. Probably not, I'm guessing, but it's only 72 hours to Tuesday morning.'

yam? Brit slang google does not explain.

please stop posting sexy pix of Jake. I may manifest as serious stalker. Bruckheimer be damned!

Hi Pia :D That says Yarn not yam...

Bruckheimer's gonna be after me too! He's going to be fighting us off...

I've updated the post to include some ponderings by HR's Jeffrey Wells about whether Brothers will show in Toronto.

YARN? that is not a Brit expression, that is "pirate talk". oh well. whatever. :) I guess Im walkin' the plank tonite.
anyhoo:

Jake is hot.

Can we get some back story on Bruckheimer and whut's goin' on here? How much "yam" are we gonna haf to put up with during the Pop francise?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Yarn over here means a tall story - which is exactly what I think this is :) Pirates? Like pirates... There could be a lot of 'yam' but I was just having some fun with this piece of nonsense bcause, you'll never believe it, Jake is 'an object of romantic passion' for me too :D

Now wait just dang minute - now while I would never, evah, advocate doing anything that would make someone uncomfortable, or heaven forbid stalking, evah, there's only so much handsome a woman can take, and not be inspired to these kinds of flights of passionate fancy. Have a heart, Jerry, or Jake needs to wear a hoodie all the time! Probably, I'd be sentenced to walk the plank too. This is a very interesting yarn. ;)

I went to the Jeffrey Wells link, but the people there all seemed to be more interested in discussing Sheridan's earlier movie "In America." Naturally, there wouldn't be much they could say about "Brothers" because no one has had a chance to see it yet. :-/

Unrequited love is a predictable result of seeing Jake Gyllenhaal. ;-) But I would tend to believe Jerry Bruckheimer on this one. :-)

Maybe the poor girl composed an obscene limerick and so it wasn't that she expressed unbridled passion, it was how the unbridled passion was expressed.

"There was a young lady from Ealing, etc."

^^LOL :)

ok
there was a young lady from ealing
whose libido went right thru the ceiling
when she saw Jake's hot bod
and beep beep beep beep beep
she was quite overcome with warm feeling -

and this is just a first try. . .and its bedtime. . .

Is Peter Scandinavian? Maybe this is why he wanted a penguin. ;)

There once was a young lady from Ealing

When she saw Jake's hot bod
The first thing she clawed
Was an elderly tourist from Darjeeling

I could do a real nasty one but don't think WDW would want it on her blog!

Morning everyone! I'm worn out from watching all the rowing and cycling this morning...

OMG those limericks! Hysterical! Thanks very much for making me laugh so much this Sunday morning :D

Hi there Anon! That's a good point - if they don't want innocent bystanders to be swept away by Jake's sexy bod and hot stare, then they have to keep him covered at all times. Great comment, thank you :D

Hi Paul! It is very good to see Jeff Wells talking about Brothers even though he's in the same boat as the rest of us - longing for the first showing.

Good point, Anon - it could have been a naughty limerick, could have been some slash :D

Pia and Hoots! Thanks for your limericks - I'm gonna have to have some breakfast and get my poetic brain cells going... Good to see you Hoots and thanks for the restraint!!

Hey Tuxed Knight - ooh, thanks for that link :D I love that. The penguin's parents must be very proud... I definitely approve of penguins being given more roles in society :D Thanks for commenting!

well just bleep it out like Pia did ;DD

There was a young lady from Ealing
Who experienced a peculiar feeling
The Jakeness took over, she could hold back no longer,
..And Bruckheimer feeling left out and said "beat it" :o/

Thanks WDW - great post again, indeed HRH is an object of romantic passion. He inspires passion. My friend (who sent me the Fabric Jake interview) rang me last night and asked if I checked my emails as she'd sent me pictures of what she called 'the new and improved Jake'. She says she feels able to be a cougar and drool over him now as he doesn't look so boyish anymore(she's only 34!) - another recruit for Gyllenhaalism.

The Olympics have taken over my life at the moment - it's amazing! (thank goodness for interactive). Just about to watch Nadal.

Have a great day all.

Morning Sheba! There is definitely something to be said for older Jake :D Thanks for the poem!

I have used up huge amounts of energy cheering for the rowers and cyclists this morning. I missed all of yesterday's action so I'm having a day of catching up. Gotta see the swimming!

Chuckling at the idea of grown up Jake turning us into drooling cougars!

Have a good day!

OMG, those limericks! You people should write more! You had me laughing so much it hurt.

If there is any justice Nadal should win the Gold, after the unsportsmanship Gonzalez showed to James Blake (temporary object of my affection) during their match.

I fear we are all about to be swallowed up whole during the frenzy that will surround the release of PoP and the attention its receiving already even without any official pictures!!

I remember when Spiderman had the first trailer at nearly a year before it was released and they had just begun filming. I hope for the same.

I have no doubts about Brothers but for me will be bittersweet. I think that Jim will be loyal and protective of Jake and his privacy and choice to promote Brothers. I do find it strange however that we've only heard of one obsure review of audience feedback from pre-screening.

China has put on an outstanding games and the scenery, facilities, etc. are excellent. I wish I was there... or in Morocco...Oh well... back to the tennis.

Hehehe... Zodiac, join in, it's Pia inspired.

Abundant sunshine in the Berkshire Mountains and the Flying Fish did it! Love Mike Phelps' long torso and adorable grin!

Hi, everybody!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey there Zodiac! I laughed so much I neary spilt my tea :D

Hi Sheba! If only I had four sets of eyes and then I could watch all the sports at once... Watching the athletics.

I wonder how much information came out during the filming of the first Pirates film - I seem to remember there was a lot of buzz about it. It would be great to have a year of teaser trailers, images etc.

I've heard bits and pieces about Brothers being shown - including to directors in ireland - but it really is quiet. It'll be interesting to see how what happens over the next few months. Just 3 and a half months now...

Morning Pia! I missed Mr Phelps' swims yesterday so I'll have to find those on the net later today. Nice to have a lazy day watching everyone else wearing themselves out! Another lovely sunny day here too :D

actually sheba it was anon 3:05 that started (inspied) it -

Sorry, anon. 3.05 - I'd be proud to get fired over my poetry inspiration - Stephen would be so proud!

I love all the inspiring back stories behind the olympians. Phelps aparently has ADHD and was afraid to put his face in the water - amazing feat! James Blake lost his dad and brother and broke his neck 2 years ago same year and fought back to get to the semi finals of the olympics!

Doesn't help that those amazing athletic bodies and bulging biceps and pectorial muscles keep bringing me back to PoP :DD

I was out yesterday celebrating with the Jamaicans about the fastest man in the world - those Jamaicans know how to party :DD an amazing, inspiring 8 days so far.

Anonymous said...

Yes Usain Bolt is gorgeous. amazing grace!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

I caught up with that race this morning - absolutely amazing. I bet that was quite some party! So many athletes to celebrate - and so many gorgeous bodies :D Loving those rowing outfits... ahem...

Good job, Paul :D OK I'll have a go, please close your ears...

There was a young lady from Ealing
Who more often than not was found kneeling
The reason was Jake
Who made her legs quake
And gave her that 'had twenty pints' feeling

:D

Ola Monica! We're not the babblers here ;D

Jake is irresistable to all who see him :D I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Brothers and TIFF...

Hope everyone's having a good day!

Hello, wet dark!!

Sorry, sorry, sorry!!
Not that I understand the confusion!
It was while here and there.

OMG, they think that a woman will attack the Jake? If so you will have to "ban" whole world that is difficult not to fall in love with this man!

I believe that Brothers participate in any festival.

No worries, Monica :D And good to see you!

Oh Lord! I'm so hoarse from all that screaming at the TV - Go Jamaica :DD

LOL, Paul and WDW, gettin' your poety on :DD

"OMG, they think that a woman will attack the Jake? If so you will have to "ban" whole world that is difficult not to fall in love with this man!"

Tell me about it *roll eyes*. I was laughing about it earlier but its so not fair. I think we should write letters and emails of protestation about the banning of this poor, innocent Gyllenhaalic who had her private written 'thoughts' exposed without her permission *tongue firmly planted in cheek*. Come on Ealing Studios - have a heart!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sheba! I saw the Jamaican ladies - wow! Good to see a Brit girl in the final.

Just think, of course it isn't true, but if it were true, how terrible that is!

Hope everyone's having a good evening :D

I know I shouldn't say this but... I've had dealings with Slingshot interns in my work and frankly this article REALLY CHEERED ME UP ! After having one yell at a co-worker ... I DO so hope it was her that got the boot....

Believe me you wouldn't want any of them near your Jake.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Anon! Glad it cheered you up and thanks for the comment :D

Nadal deserved the Gold because he is in his best moment and played brilliantly. But I take offense in your comment about González. He is incapable of unsportmanship.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sara :) Nadal definitely deserves his No 1 position. I've not seen a single tennis match at the Olympics though, unfortunately. Please don't take offence at someone else's comment - we all see things through different eyes :)

I'm sorry WDW but when someone attacks Fernando González they attack our entire country. Our tennis players are national heroes here.
