Shooting a scene on the Prince of Persia, a further date for Brothers and a dip into the Imaginarium

The latest holidaymaker photographs from the set of the Prince of Persia have been taken more recently than the last and show a completed filmset and even a scene being shot - not a glimmer of Jake Gyllenhaal to be seen but it's so good to see something and we are very lucky Disney picked a site on the tourist trail...

Another film, closer to our screens than the Prince of Persia, one hopes, is Brothers and although all is still quiet, IMDb has quietly added a release date - 5 February 2009 for the Netherlands. Clearly, someone somewhere is thinking ahead and it's encouraging to know that this is earlier than the current Denmark release date. It's coming, folks!

Although still in post-production, we now have a teaser trailer for Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, giving us a glimpse into a world in which everything is possible and nothing is what is seems. It's hard to ignore the contrast between the centuries old Imaginarium and the difficult reality that Heath Ledger didn't live long enough to finish the film, his role being completed by Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp and Jude Law.

Wow - I love these latest set pics, the color and the detail. Glad to hear something about Brothers too.

What a great trailer for Dr. Parnassus - I see a trend with Terry Gilliam's films, he's very creative and imaginative, his movies are like fantasies, and Dr. Parnassus seems like it will be like curling up with a book of fantasy tales. There was one drawing of a cozy bed by the window in a cottage, which reminds me of a story I read or an illustration I saw in a book from my childhood. I love movies like that. Heath looked very regal in the little clip in the trailer from Brothers Grimm, btw. I never saw it at the theater. Oh Heath - what a loss.

Thanks, WDW! :)

Hi there Anon :D I love to see these pics too, makes me feel closer to Jake and the set.

When I saw this trailer it made me think of Brothers Grimm too. I find films like this enchanting and weird but they also scare me a little.

Thanks for commenting :D

*does a happy dance*

Oh, it's been such a long way...

kakolukiam...

I'm going to leave this word a mystery for those who haven't played the game or haven't finished it. I wonder if it makes its way into the movie.

Hey Congratulations Zodiac!! Does this mean you get to marry the Prince...? I've heard that word before but I don't know where... So you'll be starting on the sequel now :D I still have a 'bit' of a way to go, ahem :D

Thank you, WDW!

You don't get to marry the Prince but you get a kiss...Oh yes.

You should play further, WDW. You were so helpful when I couldn't get through at the very beginning of the game. If it wasn't for your advice I probably would stop playing all together because I was really stuck.

Wow, the set is looking pretty amazing! Are the bars and scaffolding-like around the walls going to be used for the Prince and Tamina to scale across on? (from pics in other posts) When I first saw the set pics, I thought they were for construction purposes. But then I started wondering if they were going to be used for the characters to move up, across, or down on. Maybe, I'm thinking too much into it.

I can't believe Brothers is getting closer. I hope Brothers will still be released early Dec. in the States as in, I don't know how much longer I can take it without seeing Jake on screen again :/ I'm hanging in there thanks to all the posts:)) We'll all hang in there together,

"For as long as we can ride it.":)

Be back in a few.
Have a nice Sunday everyone!:D

Oh yes, I now think that I've over thought the scaffolding comment. I think I've become delirious of late. Where's my rum;))

Ooh, you get a kiss?! Lovely thought. I'm glad I was able to help you earlier in the game. I have no doubt I'll be needing you later :D

Hi there Viv! I've got my Shiraz this evening... I think the earlier pics showed them constructing the set but these show it all ready and working. I wonder what those structures are on the top of the hill.

We'll have Jake on the Big Screen soon and we'll be ready :D

Good night, wet dark!

I am also anxious to see Brothers movie. Even knowing that the film should arrive here in 2009!

Dr. Parnassus seems to be a good movie. Thank you for the link!

Kakolukia sounds like a composite of some kind. Kaka is a very old word that describes a bodily function. Kia is an acronym for "Killed in action." Kia is also a car model, though I would doubt that the world of a 7th century Persian prince would include such a reference.

From my reading of the graphic novel, I would guess that Kakolukia might be someone's name, and might refer to someone who has come back from the dead. Just a guess, though.

Yes, what is on top of those hills?
WDW? No clue for me.?

And also, Dr. P seems very enticing to the fantasy world. I'm also eager for a fantasy film, the last from Heath. I'll be ready for that journey in Feb., March, can't remember which time...but, yeah Brother's Grimm was also very entertaining to me:) Thanks for the Dr. P trailer!:))

Oh, missing Jake:( I wish he would make some sort of appearance. Even walking from car to something, I can hold hope! Please, Jake, give us something!! OMG, where's my rum!;)))

Good night everyone, I'll think of eyes and lashes.....Oh, and yes, the lips;DDD...kiss...kiss.:)

Morning everyone! Monday... blurgh...

Ola Monica :D You're right, Brothers arriving in 2009 is better than norhting! Be funny if Nailed opened the same week...

Hi Paul :D Maybe it's a type of vodka? ;D

Hey there Viv! Oh I'm going crazy for a glimpse of Jake and so I keep telling myself it'll all pay off when we have PoP on our screens and then on DVD. I reckon the filming in Morocco will wrap any day now. Lovely images I have in my head now of kissing Jake :) Beats working that's for sure...

Have a good day everyone!

Morning everyone!

Paulh, "kakolukia" is not someone's or something's name. At least not in the game. But I won't say more. A promise is a promise:)

I'm not into Terry Gilliam's movies that much, but I'll see Dr.Parnassus for sure and not once.

Morning Zodiac :D I don't usually enjoy fantasy films at all (I'm possibly the only person on the planet who doesn't like Lord of the Rings) but Dr P is one I won't miss.

Hope you're having a good day - can't believe the sun's out. The weather's telling Jake he'll be fine if he gets over here now!

My favourite Terry Gilliam's movie is The Fisher King, that was indeed a great movie with a grat Robin Williams.
And surely I'm not gonna miss The Imaginarium, the last chance to watch Heath doing something new...

I'm glad there's a further a date for Brothers, I'm glad Jake is having an unforgettably funny experience with PoP but I'm starting to suffer severely for this Jake withdraw too...what to do?:)

Have a great day everyone and thank you WDW for releaving my pain...:)

The movie version of "Prince of persia" will give Jake a chance to bring out his gallant, romantic side.

Hi Xenia! After saying that I don't like fantasy films, I must say that I really enjoyed Fisher King :) Sorry you're in Jake Pain - me too :(

Hey there Paul! I love that :D I want to see Jake in a gallant hero role (so long as he jumps about too and makes all who see him swoon)

Me too, Anon :)
