And now he's back! Jake Gyllenhaal back in London

Now that's what I call a flying visit, and I don't envy Jake his jetlag. Today Jake Gyllenhaal arrived back at Heathrow, modelling another Free City top, which is set off perfectly by The Jeans and a spot of North Face. Glad to have you back in Blighty, Jake!

Aaaarrrggghhh, Jake!!! Take off that frickin' hood!! I wanna see your hair!!!! LOL!

He looks kind of skinny in those jeans... I wonder what Chris is wearing at the moment, while Jake ran of with Teh Jeans! LOL!

Wow, that was fast, lol! Ahh, you lucky Brits having him back in your neck of the woods. He looks totally adorable and that smile always lights up a room, even an airport. :D

Anyway, here was my comment just posted in the last thread.

Ahh, a post full of rare gems!! Thanks WDW for finding that great extra part of the Jake/Peter interview. Adore them together. So damn sexy and cheeky. :p

And the great Jake/Mark bits. I didn't know Mark originated Warren in TIOY? I do hope Jake does still have those friendships/relationships. We haven't seen or heard of him with Mark, Peter, etc. for a while. That was always such a wonderful thing to see and I hope we see that again soon. I would hope and imagine they are still very sacred relationships that are still going privately.

Yeah that OK! Mag. story sounds like they used part of last year's Halloween guest list. For whatever reason..

WDW, hope you and everyone who is under the weather is feeling better. :)

Okay, a stupid question, but where did the term Blighty come from for the UK?

Anonymous said...

I think it's Hindu - Biliti or something - definitely to do with the Raj ... maybe it was the word for home ... guess I'll wiki it :D

Hey Uli :D I love Jake's hoody - he's definitely been shopping down Melrose! That hair must really be bugging him. But how great to have Jake back in London and with a smile. Love Teh Jeans comment :D

Hey Get Real! No messing ound here :D Thanks for your last comment, I picked it up. And I'm so glad you liked the Jake and Peter video - I hope people will go back and watch it as it's really special - and sexy.

And I am really interested to learn that Jake and Mark had more of a relationship than I'd thought and I bet they discussed TIOY on Zodiac.

Thank you - feeling a bit better this evening - very sneezy though :P

You know, that is not a stupid question at all. We regularly refer to Blighty or here and I had no idea where it's from, so I've had a look on Wikipedia and it seems like it belongs to the days of the Raj and is derived from a Hindustani word - fascinating. So the ex-pats in India would refer to Britain in this way. It caught on :)

Hey Nouskie-the-all-knowing :D I wikid it and I had a 'I didn't know that' moment :D But I do know I'm glad Jake's back in it - but I hope this time we seem him out and about more!

I want his hoody. It's bloody expensive. Excuse my language. Of course, I've checked the price. I'm pathetic;) OK, I need somebody to borrow me a couple of thousand dollars, so I can buy:bamboo sheets, a set of cashmere lingerie, a 180$ hoody and, maybe, a bag of Sprinkles cupcakes. Anyone? WDW, if I end up with another Jake-related piece of wardrobe, you're the one to blame:)*blows kisses*

Jet-lagged much, Gyllenhaal?

P.S.I had to look up Blighty, too. This blog was the first place where I saw this word.

Wow, that is really interesting re: the history of Blighty!

Am a bit rattled, just heard there was a major assassination attempt, thankfully foiled, against Barack Obama. Some insane Neo Nazi skinheads set to do a huge amount of carnage.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Zodiac! * Blows kisses to you too * Jake is intent on emptying your pockets... I love this Free City stuff and I have a fair bit myself gathered over the years in LA. I want this hoody too! Maybe we should go halves and share it... I can do without the bamboo sheets and the lingerie if I can have a warderobe of Free City and a collection of North Face bags.

Jake is always saying he's jetlagged and I reckon he'll be saying it a lot next week...

I had no idea people didn't know the word Blighty, but I like it and I'm using it :D

I want some Free City shirts/hoodies too! And the Art Alive. Jake looks great in both.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Get Real :) That's bad news. Thank God it was rumbled. Can't be long to go in the election now.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

I think we should distribute Free City gear amongst us. I love it!

Uli said...

LOL at Zodiac needing money for all kinds of jakeish stuff...

I also need to say thank you for the Jake & Peter interview... Stupid me didn't realize at first that those were two different parts of the interview... I clicked on the link and was like "oh, I know this one" and wondered "why is she posting it another time embedded?" *rolls eyes*

And I agree, its good to have Jake back in London! The place where I live would be even better, but London is at least closer than LA...;)

Good to hear that you feel better WDW, sneezy can be still annoying, though...

An assassination attempt against Obama? Damn, imagine they would have succeeded!!!

An assassination attempt against Obama? Damn, imagine they would have succeeded!!!

I definitely don't want to imagine that, Uli.

Yes, WDW, Free City gear for everyone! ;p

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Uli! Nooooo, it's a different interview :D I love the bit about Troy making out with the cowboy:) Those two should be a professional double act.

London is good :D

Hey Get Real! We should set up a fund to get Zodiac and us all this gorgeous stuff.

It is nice thinking Jake's on London time tonight - I hope he knows the clocks went back yesterday!

Jake, you know you're not allowed to enter into certain pubs in England with hoodies?? *g*

I agree... I think he's quite conscious about his long hair (if he has hair extensions on, they can be difficult to deal with by yourself)

I wonder if LA has started early voting? maybe he has done his citizen duty?

Anonymous said...

Well, his citizen duty as a celeb was to come out against Prop 8 and do a "get the vote out" video, alone or with Reese. She has been supportive of and appeared at GLBT affairs, as has Jake.

Perhaps he returned to do this?

If not, sorry, Jake = you're on my S list.

Just sayin'

Thank you for posting that additional segment of the Jake/Peter interview, WDW! I really liked what Jake said about war being inside the mind of a soldier, and the way he said it...
Sorry for being away but I was in Italy for almost 2 weeks and hardly any time for Jaking... But at least I enjoyed the almost-summer weather.
So glad to see a flurry of new Jake pics these past few days and I agree this Free City wear really suits him!
Hugs,
Paola

Wow, so many things happened while I've been away...:)
I can see Jake refreshed his wardrobe, new hoodies and t-shirts except for the good old pair of The Jeans.

Thanks for the video with Jake and Peter WDW, what a cheecky sexy couple. It's always a pleasure to watch those two interact.:)

Pia,I understand your point of view but I don't think at the the 'celeb' status as an 'official' status with official 'duties' so I guess it's up to the single person or 'celeb' to decide what to do with his own personal 'status'. IMO of course.
This being said I wouldn't be disappointed to see him campaigning for Obama.:)

Have a good day everyone. :)

Morning everyone! Juggling popping back into work with being poorly, so I'll be back later to chat. Thanks so much for the comments - and good to have you back Paola!

Anonymous said...

Hey, Xenia! Thanks for your comment! Im pretty political, and the gay marriage issue is basic in terms of human rights, in my view. Jake said in Cannes doing Rendition press that it was because of BBMt he was there - his SNL skit was a shout out to the GLBT community, and I think he's got as much an obligtation as does Ellen G to speak out about this and support his "unique fan base". And California is his state.

Hoping to hear from you soon, friend Jake.

Mmm, Jake looks hot and happy to be home:D And he's brought the sunshine with him too! :) Shame I now have to go and spend the afternoon in a dark cinema watching HSM3 :( *sigh* Wish I was going to see Brothers:(

Hope everyone's well xx

Work sent me home so I'm curled up with a pot of tea and a rhubarb pie :D I'm wearing my Art Alive shirt as a dedication to Jake being back in London :)

Hi Winterbird! Excellent point about hoodies and pubs - don't tend to mix. I can't help thinking that some of that hair is extensions. I need to examine it to be sure...

Morning Pia :D I have to disagree to some extent. I don't think anyone is obliged to campaign for anything - I've never been that keen on the mix of celebrity and politics. It's much less common in the UK.

I'm not going to pass judgement on Jake if he hasn't done any active 'campaigning' as I have no idea of the background. Maggie's been doing a lot this time and maybe she is taking more of it on her shoulders for this election. Jake's done such a lot for these causes - GLBT and young voting in general - over the years. I'm not throwing stones if he can't this year. But who knows - maybe he did do something :D

Good to see you Paola! Hope you had a good break :D

Hi Xenia! So glad you liked the video - Jake and Peter together.... Can't get enough of that.

Have a good day everyone :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

HEY TL! My Spooky Twin - posting at the same time :D Great to see you. I hope Jake's adjusting to these decidedly non-LA temperatures (had a devil of a job getting the ice off my car this morning). Oh no... do you mean High School Musical? Maybe you should take some ear plugs, a little torch and a good book...?

Good to see you and I hope you're well xx

Xenia said...

Hey Pia, it's always a great pleasure reading your comments, so serious and funny at the same time (too bad my English is not so good to make such brilliant remarks myself), so you're very welcome. .:)

I admit it: Jake fighting for gay rights or any other kind of human rights in the public eye would be great but honestly I'm not expecting to be really aware of anything concerns Jake's life and commitments and I'm not sure I really care.

Hope your day will slow down eventually WDW. :)

Afternoon everyone, grey and rainy day here in Italy today.

Hey guys nod of respect to yr feelings re: politics. I wont have much else on my mind until this damne election is over, though. . .

rhubarb pie, though - that would take my mind off everything. . . :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Xenia - nothing up with your English :D There's snow about in the UK today. Far too cold. I'm ready to hibernate for the winter :)

Hi Pia! Oh, I can definitely understand why you're so caught up in the election. I've been in the US before and during election time on a number of occasions and it is pretty all-consuming. I've been following bits and pieces of it on the news here.

I love rhubarb pie :D I bet Jake makes a mean rhubarb pie - I would love to taste it...

Anonymous said...

Hey everyone,

Just want to say how much I love you all and the ongoing discussion around here. Even if we have differing opinions everyone can discuss it respectfully and very articulately. So, thank you all. :) And of course Jake is hot! ;p

It's a rainy mess here and thankfully I am able to work from home.

Pia, I am consumed by the election too. One week from today...

Hope you feel better, WDW.

I don't think a celebrity is obligated to take a political stand publicly, but it's certainly nice if they do. Shows what they're made of, what they value. However, Prop 8 is a very dangerous thing, the taking away of a group of people's civil right and using the CA state constitution to do it, and a special circumstance I think. Not everyone accepts gay marriage unfortunately, and that is their right in a free society (I do accept and support it, wholeheartedly), but they should also recognize the inherent right of any couple to marry.

But Jake certainly has done his share politically in the past, so maybe it's time for others to pick up the mantle. Maggie always does a lot too, and Jake's parents.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Get Real! That is so good of you to say so, and I feel that too. I'm glad we can agree to disagree on some things, or just see things differently because we're from all over the place. I know I'm very poorly informed about much of what goes on in the US and so I value you, Pia and everyone else telling me about it.

But my head is mush today and so I will leave an articulate discussion to the rest of you! I'll listen in :D

Oh yes, Jake is hot! (Although physically, as he's in the UK, he may not be feeling that hot at the moment, he may be feeling a little like an icicle.)

Hi Anon :D Thanks very much for the comment. And thanks for explaining more of the background to Prop 8. The idea that a state would take away a group's given rights is something I can't understand. Sorry that my head is too foggy today to be able to express myself.
