UPDATE: Here is a longer segment of the ET preview of Prince ('My friends call me Jake') of Persia. Whether this is the full feature or not, we'll soon find out. Judging by the printed extract on Etonline, there could be more. Just as well, as I need to hear more of that accent before I'm convinced - but Jake looks amazing!

OMG - I'm speechless! He looks amazing. Amazing. I love, love, love the costumes. Dastan's shirt, the view from the back, with the V shoulders and the color and fabric of the trousers. I didn't see the boots. I love his hair. I love the woman's costume too (is it Gemma?) He looks very strong, but not overly so, and also very light on his feet, great for the parkour. He looks amazing.
I love how he expresses himself, but I had to watch the clip without sound because I'm at work! Beautiful, strong, masculine hands. And of course, the eyes. He's going to be wonderful. I'm so excited to see PoP. Did I say he looks amazing?
How could I forget to mention the chest hair, the gorgeous belt. And the ring. I hope I'm not too spoilery. I love the costumes because they have a real action feel about them, the can get around in them, especially the woman's. She's giving Dastan a run for his money, it looks like, with the sword and dagger! Good for her. ;)

I couldn't agree with you more, Shy Anon :D And it was great to see something of Gemma - she looks like a match for Jake. And he looked much lighter on his feet than I was expecting. And yes, some chest hair!! I loved the costumes too - sigh... and I really liked the ring :D

OMG! How does he do that??? He can turn me into a puddle of goo just by standing there talking and smiling! So much sexyness and sweetness and strenght mixed together...he's so beautiful. "Sexiness, sweetness and strength" just about sums up everything I'm feeling right now. How wonderful to see him talking to us after so long. Actually, his first interview of the year after such a horrendous start and everything in between. He seems to be relaxed and having fun. The twinkle is back in his eyes.
I must say, loving the leather lookas well as that beautiful ring he's wearing, it's on my 2009 christmas wish list.
Did not hear the accent at all = good thing too. I suspect they're keeping it under wraps until the trailer.
All I can say is Gemma must be immune to the 'Gyllenhaal effect' or is extremely professional. Heck, I'd be gushing at every opportunity to talk about working with Jake. Even the reporter succumed to the looked absolutely smitten - her eyes were all over his body and could resist touching him.
It was all to brief but bittersweet. It already looks amazing, especially the fight scenes and horse-riding.
You've done wonderfully Jake, welcome back and hope to see lots, lots more, preferably with your shirt off *claps hands like on Ellen episode "take your shirt off"* :DDD

His voice is so lovely - and there was no more of the British accent - there was even less, they took out that part. But added more action scenes where we could see costumes!
And I really liked all the costumes... The leather vest (or however you call it...) was yummy...
And I love how he says he is gonna be fat and happy! LOL! Although I somehow doubt that... ;)
But the hair still don't look right. And that bugs me to no end, cause I really think I like him with the long hair, if only it wouldn't be so stiff and looking like it was glued to his head in some places!!!!
Jake, I am pretty sure you have your personal hair comber, stiffener and gluer for this movie - you gotta fire him/her!
Oh, and I have to admit, I think he doesn't look as light on that horse as he looks on his feet...
But there is one more good thing, too... Sometime ago when there were the pics of him coming out of his trailer eating an apple... There was one pic where his teeth looked very strange and I was a bit worried that he might have had something done to them... But I am relieved now, he still has his sweet teeth!
Jeeez, I guess some people were lucky if they had only to worry about the stuff I worry about, LOL!

He looks so good and I have to admit to being surprised at how much I have missed seeing him move. Do you think his people know how much we like him, or do they just read the Prince of Persia sites (where they are taking some convincing)? Also, since I'm on the subject, does anyone know where on the net everyone actually talks about JG these days? The DC forum seems to have nothing to say these days (though admittedly I'm not a member). Where did anyone discuss his Pinewood stalker, or the cut under his eye (other than here)? I saw Ted mention 'the SD boards' once - what did he mean? Thanks so much if you can help. TD.
Hi there TD and thanks for delurking :D I'm glad you like the site. It can be hard sometimes when there isn't much Jake news but on the other hand it can be a lot of fun coming up with ideas. And we have days like today and yesterday when it's just great! I don't know what 'SD' is, that Ted was referring to. I'll ask him.
I like to think that Jake's 'people' know how much we like him, and don't just take opinions from the gaming sites concerning this film. I imagine Jake himself is just keeping his head down and getting on with his job.

This is a swashbuckling role like nothing Jake has done before, and he's surprisingly good at it. The hair is perfect for the period this is taking place in. It's going to have subliminal echoes of the Cecil B DeMille movies that took the world by storm in the 50s.
I never saw "Lawrence of Arabia," but the epic scope of the landscape is going to be a wonder.
Yay! I was determined - and I found a TV station that repeated ET! I could watch the segment on the computer (and have) but I wanted to see Jake in is prince regalia on my big screen in HD! What a treat.
Well, I was not disappointed. He was magnificent! And not only that, the movie itself it seems will be magnificent! The scenes looked really great, and natural, not contrived or hokey. Jake looks so good - the arms! And whoever designed the costumes deserves an award - those beautiful pants fit him like a glove, and are, how shall I say, er, tactile looking? ;) The battle gear vest he was wearing and the fight scenes looked so natural too. I wondered how they, the double scimitar things, would translate to the screen, a very muscular man might not appear agile and be "clunky", but Jake has just the right amount of muscle and looks very agile and natural, a lightness which is just perfect it seems to me, but I'm not a gamer. It's beautiful. Gemma will be beautiful too. I like her feistyness. I'm very impressed, can't wait to see more. Jake is not only beautiful and funny, but seems very happy and has a peacefulness about him. :)
You are right, Paul, Jake has the swashbuckling look down - the flowing shirt (beautifully falling open)and boots helps I think! Classic like Erroll Flynn, and in a good way, his own. Jake's hair does look beautiful and natural. I have seen Lawrence of Arabia, and it is one of my favorite movies ever, and if the photography is anything like that, this movie will be beautiful. The landscape is beautiful in it, as in The English Patient.
What can I say Jake looks so gorgeous and sexy here. I've had to watch it a few times to take it all in. I love seeing him in full flirt mode and when he sticks out his tongue is priceless:)
It was great to see Gemma aswell. She wasn't in the Bond movie long enough - which was a bit disappointing.
The action scenes look really good and the shots on location in Morocco look stunning. Lawrence of Arabia is one of my favourite films so if the scenery is anything like that it is going to be breathtaking.
May 2010 can't come soon enough. The waiting is going to be torture. Hopefully Nailed or Brothers will pop up before then.
