Right Royal Jake - and for that WDW gives thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone across the pond as well as to those Americans (ie, Jake Gyllenhaal) who may be spending their Thanksgiving on these shores. I hope our turkeys come up to scratch. And for this, I give thanks.

And for this...

This post comes with a tentative link warning, the reason being that bumping into the Queen and Prince Philip during my lunchbreak today is too untypical not to mention. 'Don't storm the car!' warned the friendly policeman - we politely said we wouldn't, and we didn't. 'People act irrationally when they see the Queen' said the policeman - we said we wouldn't, and we didn't. I didn't get a good picture of the waving Queen and Duke (thanks to a very tall bobby helmet) but I did get a picture of the next best thing - the car with a flag on the top.

The last royal I saw was, of course, Helen Mirren, when Jake was on hand to award her with the Bafta for best actress for The Queen. On that occasion, I had to ask Helen (politely but firmly) to budge as she was blocking my view of Jake. I like to think that the other Queen would have done the same thing today.

As it is unlikely that Jake will have a bop with Queen Elizabeth in the near future, this will have to do. Jake shimmied to I Will Survive alongside Queen Latifah for the benefit of Ellen Degeneres and a hundred million grateful Gyllenhaalics who enjoyed the sight of Jake's cheeky wiggle.

And, finally, Jake himself, despite his protestations of Californian republicanism, is now becoming a royal figure in his own right - Prince of Persia. According to Sir Ben, Jake has the 'effortless confidence' to pull off his regal role. Fortunately, Jake is playing my favourite kind of prince - the type that doesn't need to wear a shirt and can get away with arm bondage, big boots, tight trousers, bare chest, jewellery and luxurious scarves - and for that I also give thanks...

Includes pictures from IHJ and WDW (the car with the Queen in it photo).

Hellen was not kind, don't you think? She haven't even look at Jake!
Ok, I'm not talking to her ever again!

Hi Monica O! Well, in her defence I did see Helen and Jake give each other a peck on the cheek outside on the red carpet :D And then she stood between me and Jake... never sensible ;)

I love the BAFTA clip, he's so adorable and cheeky :)

Although Helen Mirren is totally weird that she didn't take the chance to kiss Jake again - I mean any one would, right? :P

Glad to about your brush with royalty today.

My in-laws are coming in an hour... I think my Jaking will be slower... you all have fun and have a good night :)

Hi Winterbird! I lve that Bafta clip so much - the music, the walk, just all of it - and yes, Helen was bonkers, not to give Jake another kiss... Good luck with the in-laws - you're right, in-laws are not conducive to Jaking. Have a good night :D (My blogger word is 'dumso' and I take offence at that ;))

sulappo, oh thats appropriate, I must post, since I feel very sulappo after a really great t'giving meal and good conversation -

I will always remember the I Will Survive video as being a shout out of hope after death of Heath Ledger, even though it was, of course, filmed before, in many segments. But it sure raised my own spirits.

A clear and sunny t'giving day, the mountains all gone bare, though.

thanks, as always, for all of your amazing work of passion, WDW!

WDW did you see the Top Dogs? Did you chase the car? What do the tires smell like? Right Royal..is that where it ends Pain In the Aspic? Daddy likes to cook he's always talking about the aspics people make themselves. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Mail all dinner leftovers to me. If your not in US and don't celebrate turkeys send me your Thursday night leftovers it doesn't have to be a holiday. You don't have to send aspics Daddy says LA is full of them. MonicaO I love you too. Do you want to exchange muzzle hairs? My word today is ovess. How does blogger know Daddys ovess sees?

Hi Pia :D I'm glad you had such a great Thanksgiving meal - sounds like a good way to spend the day. I will always love the I Will Survive segment. Thanks for reading and commenting *)

Hey there Atti! Not a corgi in sight, I'm afraid. But you would have been Top Dog :D My word is cytera - sounds pleasant and pleasing. I hope you get more than just scraps tonight :DD

I looked in my trashcan to see if I missed anything to eat and it made everything go down the drain.

Atticus honey

I'd love to exchange muzzle hairs, baby. Tell me where and when.
I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, Atti, and I'm in a diet that doesn't give me enough to eat, you know? So my left overs tonight were really unattractive. But I can send you a picture of me... you'll be thankful for being loved by the owner of so beautiful muzzle hair.

woof!

Word verification du jour is "decali" which sounds quite dashing to me - rather like our beautiful JBG :D Thanks WDW for another wonderful post. Helen Mirren is obviously bonkers and not DOW worthy!:P

Morning Pia! I hope your tum's feeling ok today!

Ahem, I feel like a matchmaker between Atti and Monica O :D I think my leftovers last night were four chips... very disappointing.

Morning X! She is absolutely bonkers and she should be told and given some JBG lessons. My word is scembou, which sounds very nice or rather nasty - I can't decide which!

Have a great day everyone! Friday at last...

Morning everyone! I've been away for a couple of days. Great posts,WDW, it's become redundant to say so.

My late Thanksgiving wishes to everyone in the US.

Atticus, you're officially my favourite internet dog. Next time you see your Daddy, please don't forget to lick him. Very thouroughly. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

I'm sorry about your MP3, WDW.

Helen Mirren surprised me no end.

Puppy site can be addictive, if only there was a livestream camera filming Jake sleeping. I'd stay by my laptop for 7-8 hours watching him. That's my inner stalker coming out:)

Have I mentioned everything?:)

I'm in a strange mood now. I'm listening to Elton John's Love Songs album, although it's not my kind of music. His Baby's Got Blue Eyes ALWAYS makes me think of Jake. Which songs make you think of Jake? Let's make a survey:)

My word is "nonist". It sounds like some kind of a person.

Hey, good to see you Zodiac! Hope you had a good break. And no it's not becoming redundant as it makes me happy :D

Definitely agree with you about Atti!

I don't think I want to watch puppy's sleeping or doing anything but Jakecam sounds like a worthwhile service!

I've bought another MP3 so I'm happy again now :)

I love Blue Eyes too - there are a couple of Elton John songs which I would take to a desert island. Hmm, songs that remind me of Jake... Justin Timberlake's Sexyback and Rufus' 14th Street for starters. And Amy MacDonald's LA. I must make a Jake playlist :D

I'm thankful for Jake, and I'm thankful for his High Priestess WDW. Absolutely. ;)

Sweet memories about gorgeous Jake at Bafta 2007, Sir Ian McKellen would agree. ;)

A song that reminds me of Jake will always be Rufus' "Between my legs" and Aqualung's "Strange and Beautiful" but there'd be a lot more, so many things make me think of him...

It's friday at last...have a good weekend! :)

Thanks Xenia! What a nice thing to say :D OMG yes! Strange and Beautiful always reminds me of Jake too. I'm going to do a list for a post. Have a good evening :)
