Pick a chest... spoil a dinner... spot the extras

It's been brought to my attention that People magazine is asking readers to vote for the Best Chest of 2008 (Best male chest, that is...). Ludicrously, Jake Gyllenhaal has opposition, although they shall remain nameless. I thought I would try and put matters right by presenting the true competition for this prestigious title.

Sea chest

Sleepy chest

Fit chest

Wet chest

Working chest

Sports chest

Holiday chest

Treasure chest

Jake and dinner

During the publicity for her new film, Revolutionary Road, the lovely Kate Winslett has been discussing what it was like to mix work and marriage with director Sam Mendes. Kate recalls that she has had experience of Sam bringing his job home before - namely for Jarhead: '"I had to remind him: 'Don't you remember on Jarhead? Because I was there when Jake [Gyllenhaal] would call you in the evening and you'd talk for two hours on the phone,'" she says. "Even if we were in the middle of a dinner that I'd spent hours cooking, he would take the call. And quite right, too."'

And finally

A blogger has been talking about the mysteries they encountered at Pinewood Studios last week, and they included tea drinking Arabian assassins - methinks work was still goin on with the Prince of Persia last week.

I'll end with a Hot Chest...

Includes pictures from IHJ and Just Jared.

Oh, Lord. No competition for Jake. None. What. So. Ever. He's got the Best Chest in the North, South, East and West!

Love that blue gown on Kate W. She looks like a goddess in it. :)

LOL... Jake is obsessed with his phone-calls! You think he texts with those shorthand codes?

I love all the chests here... especially the sleepy chest..mmmm....

welcome back to rainy England.

Hi Skyrina - Good to see you back! Definitely no comparison possible with any other chest. Roll on the summer and the end of winter's layers :D Kate looks just beautiful there - when I'm not looking at Jake in the background.

Hey Winterbird! Jake and his phonecalls... Yep, I bet Jake knows all the texting shortcuts, unlike me who knows none of them.

Thanks for the welcome home! A huge shock to the thermal system. My plane was very late and the ride very bumpy. But nice to be at home :)

WDW, happy you're back, I hate bumpy rides. Ugh...

Kate's blue gown is beautiful, I have noticed it too.

Jake's chest is fine. I'd like to stop here ;)

I try not to answer calls when I'm eating, esp form people I know might talk for hours(everything goes cold and I take my food seriously:) But if I saw "Jake" or "Gyllenhaal" blipping on my mobile's screen, I'd answer it, dinner be damned and I'd listen to this soft voice even for two hours sticking my fork absent-mindedly into the cold food.

Welcome home to winter, WDW!! Sorry to hear about the bumpy ride, though... You just need to think of sweet TDAT Sam on the plane, maybe that helps... ;)

Wow, just back home and already a post? You are something else!

Mmmmh, Jake's chest... The fit and the treasure chest are my favourites - now add the pic of Dustin Hofmann pulling Jake's shirt up and I might faint! ;D

Huh, I don't get this people thing... Can we vote there? I didn't even get to see the pic of Jake they are using... I have to admit I doubt that he could win that one, though...
And I have to admit something else: There is an ad for whatever (LOL, I really can't remember, so I guess you could say the ad failed...) on TV here with Matthew McConaughey showing his chest, and I reeeeaaaally enjoy that ad, he definitely has a nice chest... Mmmmh...

I hope you don't have to go back to work tomorrow already, but can recover a bit from your trip instead...

Morning everyone! Back at work and I'm a zombie...

Morning Zodiac! I think if Jake was ringing me at dinner time I'd have no appetite for food at all.

Hi Uli! Thanks! I'm missing that sun already... I was trying hard NOT to think about Sam's TDAT flight! There are just so many gorgeous chest pics - we're spoilt for choice. I'cve seen that Matt ad do - I like a hairy chest myself but Matt always makes me smile. I wish I could be off work for a day or two because I'm not feeling remotely human :(

Have a good day everyone!

Thanks WDW for enlighting my grey and rainy day, and welcome home.:)

If I have to choose, I'll pick the Sleepy Chest (even if,honestly, I crave all of them) with also the rest of Jake's body attached.

Poor Kate, but it's not Sam's fault, see? noone is able to resist a Jake's call.;)

Wish you all a good day.

Another great post WDW:)

Hope you had a good hol and weren't too washed out of it with rain in Disney. I'm only just back at work after being in NYC for the week so I'm feeling like a zombie too today:(

I nearly got to see Peter in The Seagull but unfortunately I couldn't convince my other half to go. He had already sat through two musicals at that point so he wasn't to be convinced for a third night at the theatre:(

If I was pushed to choose I'd have to pick holiday chest but I have to say that I love them all.

I really enjoy that D&G ad with Matthew McConaughey in it aswell. He definitely has a nice chest and he does oblige by spending a lot of time with his shirt off aswell!!!

Have a great day and thanks again WDW for making my first day back at work bearable:)

wow it got hot in here REAL quick! yep that chest, and treasure trail, should have it's own category. Hot chest and trail. The whole package should have it's own category. Do you have a place where we can vote?

are you back from Disney or are you still in the magic kingdom?

Hi Xenia! Thanks for the welcome home - so cold out there... I know, as if anyone could resist the opportunity of talking to Jake, who needs food?!

Thanks Carol! I hope you had a good time in NYC. I was lucky in Florida, just one morning of rain. It's hard going back to work, isn't it? I'm glad Jake helped make your first day back better :D

Hope everyone's having a good day! My word is sessar - sounds like something out of the PoP script :)

Hi sweetpea - posting at the same time :D Oh yes, the treasure trail is too good to be mixed with anything else in a post! I'm afraid the Mouse has released me and I am back to being a slave to a hot desk. I was feeling chilly last night - Jake certainly raises the temperature!

I saw "Milk" Saturday night. Great peformances all around. Since you're talking about chests, I'll just say that James Franco did well in that department. :-)

The cinematographer was Harris Savides, who also worked on "Zodiac."

Last night, I saw "A Christmas Tale" ("Un conte de Noel"). Those of you who saw "Quantum of solace" may recall Mathieu Amalric, who played the evil Dominic Greene. Amalric played the decadent Henri this time. (He also played the main character of "Diving bell and the butterfly")

My only gripe about the big movies of the month is that so many are too long.

And at the other end of the spectrum, "Nailed" is too short. :-(

I loved the treasure chest heading. Although I thought they all were. Thanks, I might need to take a few deep breaths after those chest photos.

Hi Paul! Oh, I can't wait to see Milk. I hope it makes it around here at some point. I thought Dominic was great in QoS.

Hey Gail! I'm glad you enjoyed Jake's chests - me too :D

Hope everyone's having a good evening!
