More Jerry talk on the Prince of Persia

I've spent this evening attending a lecture by the well-known Anglo-American broadcaster Paul Gambaccini on the past and future of new, original music on the airwaves. This is completely irrelevant to the post, but it does explain why I'm feeling sentimental tonight towards those who express themselves to an audience of millions through the medium of film and radio. Jake Gyllenhaal for example...

The other evening, producer Jerry Bruckheimer discussed why Jake will surprise us when we see him revealed as the Prince of Persia. Of course, many of us Gyllenhaalics will not be surprised at all - we know well the muscle definition that Jake can achieve when motivated. Today, more Jerry quotes have been revealed, this time from Latinoreview. Jerry said that, although he liked to be there on set, PoP was more difficult 'I can't be there all the time. So every couple of weeks I'll visit the set. That one is in London, but if it's in town I'll be there everyday, but when it's out of town, especially that film which shot in Morocco and London. So that's difficult.'

On whether it made sense to advertise a future film in a new film: 'I said, 'Why don't we put our own movies in here.' It's kind of silly to promote someone else's movies.' Another question focused on whether we shall see the Prince jumping from wall to wall: 'Bruckheimer: There's Parkour, yeah.' Jerry also revealed that a teaser trailer for PoP is still some time off - how will we stand it...?

Meanwhile, Maggie Gyllenhaal has been working with Fischer-Price for the Wildlife Conservation Society. Maggie attended the event today at the Central Park Zoo in New York City to launch the Precious Planet children's line of products. Hopefully, this should mean the end of red carpet fur wraps.
