[Updated] Jake out at Luxxe and Hal's 23 March - and Gemma's 'goofy' Jake 'not bad to look at'

After a weeklong Jake Drought, Jake Gyllenhaal more than made up for it yesterday by going out to eat/have a cuppa not once but twice - correction, updated to add three times. Having had lunch with Mike White at le Pain in Brentwood, Jake was then seen at Caffe Luxxe in Santa Monica, where innocent passers by were seen to fall for the all powerful GyllenCharm, and then later out for dinner at Hal's Restaurant in Venice Beach, dining with another friend we've seen before. That was a hat event.

Meanwhile, the feisty Princess of Persia was out on the razz last night celebrating the premiere of The Boat That Rocked about the raucous days of the radio pirateships. And Gemma Arterton had this to say about Jake: 'He’s such a lovely guy... He’s quite goofy, always messing around and trying to make everyone laugh on set. Not bad to look at either, which always makes the day easier.' Talk about an understatement... But good to hear Jake had fun on the set.

Many, many thanks to IHJ for the new pictures of the Luxxe and Hal's outings, and for more pictures of the lunch with Mike. Includes picture from the Sun.

"not bad to look at"

This is either:

a) an example of incredible understatement
b) a lame joke
c) proof she is a twit

By the way who is the guy in drag wearing the short blue Roman toga?

Hi Geri - A definite case of classic understatement, with tongue firmly in cheek :D Looks like it was some night! I can't help liking her...

I like her too WDW. I couldn't resist having some fun with her comment. :D

Hey Geri :D I know, some of the things she says are gifts! I had a laugh at some of the pictures of them all staggering home after the bash.

Jake must have some kind of magic. He is always drawing people to him on his movies sets. People who spend any time with him always talk about what a wonderful guy he is and we are always hearing about his kindness. It's as if he brings a joyful spirit where ever he finds himself.

Hi Anon :D Absolutely! We always hear how much fun he is. I think he gets bored and likes to mess around too and I can certainly empathise with that. He sounds so much fun to be around. And kind too :)

My word is joyeh :D

*Sigh* I just can't stop looking at that third picture. Which is pretty inconvenient since I'm supposed to be working right now. Damn you, Jake! I even think he looks sexy in the last one with the hat. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the hand close-up and the peek of chest hair. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Sigh... that is a lovely picture, Olympia. I like the smile. And I think the last picture is my favourite of the evening set :D The hand is good, and the peep... Hope you're having a good day, Olympia. I'm falling asleep at my desk here :D

Squee! I needed this today. :D

Nice to see Jake out and about and to hear his co-stars give him some praise. Although Gemma is making the understatement of the year, lol.

Hey Get Real! Posting at the same time :D Three lots of Jake from one day - it's just great! And yep Gemma's making me laugh again. I'm looking forward to seeing them on the big screen together :Dh

Hi all these are fab pics. Jake always seems to pop up and make my day when everything seems to be going wrong:) I especially like the last one of the evening set too.

I do like Gemma. She seems a real fun girl and her comments are so funny. I am really looking forward to seeing the boat that rocks.

Have a great day:)

Hi there Carol! I know, he pops up when we need him :D I'm looking forward to seeing the Boat That Rocks too - I didn't realise that Gemma was in it.

I have lots of gnat bites so I'm very irritably itchy :( I realise you don't need to know that... :D

I love the way Jake often puts his head down and gives those little secret smiles. He is entirely adorable.

He's so gorgeous.

Who is the guy in the white beanie?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Anon! I love that - that's one of those really endearing things about Jake - the head down with the quiet smile. Thanks for making me think of that, I'll come back to it :D

Hi TD! I don't know the name of that guy but he was seen walking around with Jake earlier this year. I've been thinking this could be something to do with a project, but that's just a meaningless guess.

I definitely have issues with Gemma's wardrobe. Mostly with her shoes. Does she have something wrong on her ankles? She keeps covering them...weird. And the Toga...ouch!
"He's not bad to look at...or to accidentally french kiss"...I know...I know...

As for our boy *sigh*....the hand close up is a killer. LOL!

Hey Monnie O posting at the same time! I'm always bemused by some women and their shoes. I've never worn anything higher than Nike Shox! But I have friends who would kill for shoes like those Gemma wears. I like Gemma's dresses though - they shout out personality. I know how you love Jake's hands :D

My word is phancy!

I love Gemma's dress, the color is stunning, and I always love her shoes. :)

Well...I'm a high heels person and I'm glad I don't need to "be in her shoes". LOL!

WDW, they shout out legs! :)

Morning everyone!

Hi there Anon! I do like Gemma's dresses - just wish I had the figure to wear them - or the opccasion for that matter!

Morning Monica O :D Ahh, you long-legged tall types, but I'm no good with shoes...

Have a good day everyone :D

I went to IMDB to check out Mike White and he has a very impressive resume'. He is a pretty successful writer/producer/director. Glad Jake is still in touch with his "Indie" roots.

Hi there Volus The Terrible (you don't go around imapling people or anything like that, do you?)! Mike is an extremely talented and successful guy who's worked on some interesting projects - good to see him out with our Jake :D
