Spot the Jake - at work and at play - Taking the plunge

Royal Mail has a lot to answer for sometimes. It was Robert Downey Jr's 44th birthday on April 4 and my invitation to the bash at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills failed to arrive in time. A shame, I had a good present. Fortunately for Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese, theirs did arrive but, unfortunately for us, the pap on hand seemed to be inexplicably distracted by unrecognisable people and all we got of Jake was an ear, some hair and a distinctive mole or two. We may never know what birthday outfit Jake threw together...

Having scrutinised the above photo for longer than it deserves, I thought we could have a go at Spot the Jake because there are a number of occasions when photographers think that if they surround Jake by umpteen other people they can keep him for themselves.

And, according to writer Jordan Galland, the second on the left at the front here, enjoying the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios, California, back in 2000, is none other than Jake Gyllenhaal. Didn't you just know that he was one of those who doesn't hang on with his eyes closed until the bitter end? I've been on this ride, and when the camera pops on that final water slope, as the T Rex charges, I'm more like the others on the front row. However, I've never done it wearing a poncho....

Hi there Anon! Good job it's such an attractive and distinctive ear but, I know, a bit more would have been nice!

LOL at the Jurassic Park pic!!! Jake looks like he's into roller coaster ride :)

I am proud to say that I spotted Jake right away in the party pic. He just stands out, period (or it could be I have a Jake-mind.. *g*)

Love the 4 Poofs and the Piano pic too. I remember they were quite smitten when Jake was on the show.

Wonderful pics! Thanks!

Hey Winterbird! I love that pic - and I want to go on roller coaster with Jake. I'd be scared so he'd have to hold me close.

A very distinctive ear :D

Love 4 Poofs and a Piano and they love Jake. A lovely pic :D Glad you liked them!

Ha! A fun game, Spot-the Jake! I played Spot-the-Heath too on the Oscar lunch pic.

I hate going on roller coasters but I bet I could be persuaded if Jake was there to hold me! :) Let me guess, WDW, I should go and form an orderly line behind you? :D

I just added a couple of pics - I can't believe I missed out my favourite Spot the Jake pic... :(

Hey Olympia! Yep, form an orderly roller coaster line behind me, and it's a good job I can't do roller coasters because otherwise I'd be on that ride with Jake 1000 times!

I'm terrified of them as well - lol

Love the 4 Poofs and The Piano pics with Jake, I do remember they were smitten, and who could blame them. :)

Hi Anon! Posting at the same time :D We are a big bunch of scaredy cats - we obviously need some roller coaster instruction from Jake!

That's a great pic with the 4 Poofs and a Piano, isn't it! :D

The airport one? Yea, that's a very good one. I remember how little time it took me to spot him the first time I saw it. It was like playing Where's Waldo, but a million times easier. How can someone stand out so much in a crowd? Wearing grey? It's amazing! (Hi!hi! I can't use that word without earing it in Jake's voice! :D)

Or maybe it's just so evident to us... :) Does this mean we spend too much time oggling pictures of Jake?

Yeah, that's the one, Olympia :D And it's a well known scientific fact that there aren't enough hours in the day during which to ogle Jake pics so we're ok.

Oh, such fun pics! Could spot Jake right away. ;p

Great to see him at RDJ's birthday, with the 4 Poofs (never saw that pic before..love it!) and the cool coaster pic. I am not a fan of roller coasters at all but Jake sure seems to be enjoying it, lol.

What a brilliant idea - who needs "Where's Wally?" when we have "Where's Jake?" You should copyright that idea, WDW;)
I've never seen that Four Poofs (the poor piano didn't get a look in apparently) pic before, absolutely love it! Thanks for posting it :)

Great pictures WDW - Like a Where's Wally. He's so distinctive and stands out in a crowd that he's hard to miss by Gyllenhaalic. Love the 4 poofs pic and screaming Jake - so fun. Just the pick-me-up I needed.
