Spring is in the air - and it's cute - and it's hot...

There can be no doubt, spring is gamboling in the fields, splashing in the ponds and rivers, and chirping in the trees. This is a gratuitous post, brought about by excessive levels of sugar in my bloodstream (due to Terry's chocolate oranges in five different flavoured segments) and due to excessive levels of cuteness witnessed in the countryside of southern England today. Today, if it didn't have fur or feathers and wobbly legs, I wasn't interested. It seems only fitting to indulge further and add Jake to the bounty.

Sometimes, you don't even need the furry bit - Jake manages all on his own.

So, to go off topic, here are some of my own Easter pics.

Includes pictures from IHJ and WDW.

oh wow... your easter pics look... interesting! :) Those huts! And sheep (what a BBM moment, eh?)

Jake and cutesy animal is a lethal combination. Although that pic where he tickles Atticus? I don't where to concentrate on... I mean, my eyes sort of draw to his, erm, Calvin Klein... :P

Happy Easter Sunday!

Hey Winterbird! You're supposed to be looking at the adorable animals and not Jake's knickknacks :D

I've had an untowardly historical day today - prehistoric, Roman, medieval, rubbishy Postmed, you name it, I've admired the brick/daub work. But only one sleeping pig and when the ducklings waddled by I was carrying a tray of Ploughman's lunches and so I couldn't grab a pic... Happy Easter!

Ah...I love Jake with animals. And Jake on the tiny bike in traffic always makes me laugh, he looks so out of place :D

"Sometimes, you don't even need the furry bit - Jake manages all on his own." Well, lucky for us, Jake can provide his own lovely fur so... :) You could have put one of those fabulous close-ups of Dastan after that phrase :DD

I'm glad you had a lovely day. That inn in the picture looks like a nice spot to sit and relax.

Happy Easter everyone!

Hi Olympia! That pub was lovely, with little nooks to sit in and a fire burning - and the beer wasn't bad... I love Jake with animals too - I'm not so much a cat person but I do love so much the picture of Jake with the kitten.

We drove past a sign today asking people to help with the lambing - that would have been too much :D

The cycling pic is definitely up there as one of my faves! An amazing picture :)

I hope you're having a good Easter :)

Your spring pics are gorgeous! and what a lovely pub. Is that river the Thames? What's the name of the roundhouse spot - is that the famous one where they made that TV programme a while ago?

Jake is terminally cute in that baby picture!!! Thanks for my Easter treat. Jake is better then chocolate...IMHO.

WDW, your own pictures are extraordinary! Truly lovely. Breathtaking actually. No joke. And this is where you live. I could weep.

It makes me nostalgic for a place I've never been,... except in Jane Austen novels! :) Any minute I expect Keira Knightly to come running thru the meadow, with Colin Firth running after her...or maybe Ralph Fiennes. Something like that, anyway.

Our Jakey cant be that little kid picture, could it???
And I just love the picture of Maggie holding Boo, I think its the cutest picture ever!

Morning everyone! I hope people are feeling ok and not too green after excessive chocolate consumption?

Hi TD! I'm really pleased you liked the pics - That pub and the river are at the same place, a tiny village called Northington in Hampshire and it's a Place of Scenic Beauty and I could see why, breathtaking meadows and the clearest water. The river's the Candover. The beer was bloody good even if I could only have half a pint and distracted me from all the stuffed fish on the walls...

The roundhouse spot was at Butser, where there's a hillfort as well. This small band of people have built some incredible roundhouses and other structures (including a Roman villa), experimenting with different materials, woods etc. And now it's thought that roundhouses didn't have holes in the roof for smoke they've covered them all up! The smoke inside, blimey.

The last living in the Iron Age programme was filmed at Castell Henllys in Pembrokeshire, Wales, which is a fascinating place to visit, in the most beautiful setting - you have to go if you've not been.

Hey Lady Caroline! Jake is far far better than chocolate - and far less fattening too :D Thank you about the pictures - that's lovely that they conjure up those images for you. And it's a coincidence you think of Jane Austen - we went through her village in Hampshire, Chawton, where her house is now a museum.

Morning Dailing! Yep, that's our Jake - with an owl on his head :DD Apparently he was performing Born in the USA for his dad... I love that picture of Maggie and Boo!

Have a good day everyone - last day off work...
