The outing involved Jake switching bikes (this is because everyone wants the bike with the basket - it means you're much closer to the picnic), admiring a red car, PDA on an uncomfortable ledge, and, judging by hotels I've stayed at in the past, which also despatched their lunches in brown paper bags, a shared packed lunch of cheese and tomato sandwiches, a bag of salt and vinegar crisps, an apple, a Mars Bar and a bottle of pop (flat).
It is very good to see Jake and the others cycling their way around - much the best way to explore new places.

Hi there Anna! The Hat for Every Occasion. I'm beginning to think he must wear it in the bath as well :D I disagree about the bike though - I think he looks sweet :) It can't be easy cycling up hills when you know what you're doing and everyone else is 10 miles behind. Glad you liked the post *)

That part of Italy (in the province of Lecce, the south-easternmost part of the peninsula) is one of Italy's best-kept secrets and still relatively unspoilt.

Hi there Paola! It looks absolutely gorgeous. I can see what drew the family there for the wedding. I wonder how they knew it.
I think the woman with the long black hair may have been a guide or escort from the hotel. They are all very brave to go biking on unfamiliar terrain. Too hilly for my tastes...and my limited ability. Jake's mother looks very fit. Good for her! Good to see them spending quality time with his mum.
Hi Anon! I was wondering about the other lady and that's definitely a possibility. I suppose another is that she's a cousin/relative of Jake as I imagine that the hotel is full of GyllenClan (and Peter's relatives of course too) for the wedding. Naomi looks so great - she does look fit. It's so nice to see her with Jake :)

Jake's wearing a hat and obscuring the view, because it ruins the shot.
Jake's wearing the hat because he likes it, that's why he wore it at the wedding (and why he also wears it in the bath) :D
I love this - gorgeous, and what a great way to get around to enjoy everything. Jake's Mom looks great, as does everyone. I think Jake looks very sweet too. Congrats to Maggie and Peter! :)

Hi Anon! Cycling is definitely the way to get around in a place like that. I love how they all cycle - although I think Jake is probably better at the hills. Naomi looks great!

I am sure you'll look great in hat (even that hat!), WDW.. I am afraid Jake forgets that he has a special head, he can't just pick up random, ugly, unsuitable hat, he needs to be care when choosing head-gear :P

Thanks Winterbird. I'll take that as a compliment - although I'm afraid I look far worse in a hat than Jake ever could, even in that hat. I do think that it wouldn't hurt if Jake followed our tips :D

Oh, lovely pics! I am not a bike rider. Have tried to learn to ride bikes many times and just don't feel comfortable. :/ But they look like they are having a great time. :)

Hi there Get Real! I'm always getting dragged out on a bike as Mr WDW loves everything on two wheels - bikes, electric bicycles, motorbikes - but if there's something in the way, I'll crash into it. I broke my finger once by cycling straight into a bollard that was as obvious as day. But Jake looks like he's taking it slow for the others :D A great way to get around in a place like that. Looks a bit hilly though!
I have a bottle of wine from that region to enjoy this evening - it seemed appropriate, for Peter and Maggie :)
Jake is so adorable. I don't know do you all love Reese, but i have feeling that Jake and her are so perfect together. I love their style of living, they always travel somewhere and Jake is totally dedicated to his family..

Somehting just occurred to me: that looks like a Blues brothers hat on Jake's head. That's pretty cool! Some parts of Italy have jazz or blues concerts in the summer, so I wonder if Jake is planning to wear the hat to one of them?
[I shared the stage with an Italian gospel choir in Bagni di Lucca two summers ago. It was an experience I will never forget, though some parts of it deserve to be forgotten :-/]
But in any event, Italians apparently love jazz. I would like to see Jake in a Blues Brothers movie. ;-)
i am from Croatia, beautiful small country on Adriatic coast, so close to Italy..
I realize something... that most of people who love Jake also love Heath, these two were so unique, not only because of movie, but because of something in them..

I absolutely agree that many of Jake's fans have a real love for Heath. We all have very special feelings for Jack's Ennis and I think it goes way beyond that. I've done a new post, as Jake is on the move again. I hope you'll be back for that, Flower :)
