Good morning Minneapolis! And a natural for Ol' Blue Eyes?

It's Jason Matheson Week on Fox 9 and, I'm sure you'll agree, it's been a long time coming... To mark the event, Jason presents below his interview with Jake Gyllenhaal from TDAT days, which begins rather curiously - something to do with a transvestite prostitute and her sister - and ends with one of Jake's favourite preoccupations: his abnormally sized head. Roland Emmerich's skill in ensuring he had multiple cameras on hand when tornados hit LA is also commended.

I was in a cafe today, reading someone's newspaper over their shoulder, and saw that there is talk afoot about who Martin Scorsese will cast in his forthcoming biopic on Frank Sinatra. Intriguingly, and rather surprisingly, the paper (it turned out to be the Sunday Express) has named Jamie Foxx as a big favourite. Reading around, Scorsese is searching for an actor to play Sinatra as a young man and, here, amongst the list of possible actors being considered, is Jake Gyllenhaal.

There are a few points to note here - a) Jake already has the hats for this role - this will save pennies on having to make special hats for Jake's abnormally sized head; b) It doesn't take a hat expert to know that Jake appears to have an interest in this period at the moment; c) Jake wants to sing and we want to hear it; d) Jake's eyes are the perfect blue.

Talking of singing, kind of, Ang Lee's film about a 'gloriously sloppy music fest', Taking Woodstock, premiered last night in Cannes. Below is a photograph of Ang, Demetri Martin and Emile Hirsch sharing a Woodstock moment.

Ohhhhh, a natural, I'd say - and now we know why he's been wearing fedoras lately? ;)

Love the pic of Ang, Demetri Martin and Emile from Cannes.

Off to see Star Trek today, have a great Sunday, everyone. :)

And who would play Ava Gardner to Jake's Frank? Sigh. :)

Hi Bertie! Definitely a natural. It does make you think, doesn't it? I think Jake would make a great choice and the film could be amazing. Enjiy the film, Bertie. I'm sure you will :D

Hi there Anon :) Now there's a question. I wouldn't mind putting myself forward...

I hope everyone's having a good Sunday - terrible weather here.

I hope he's not wearing the hats to cover his head!! It's really not big :P Maybe he's self-conscious..Jake you have a beautiful head! :)

Hi Silver :D I've always wondered if this fedora phase is movie-related - hopefully not because Jake wants to hide his head because it looks bloody good to me too! Yes! Jake you do have a beautiful head *) And the rest of you's not bad either...

I am YAY to the idea of Jake working with Martin Scorsese but not really keen/interested in a Sinatra biopic... plus I read that Scorsese is "very" set on casting Leonardo Dicaprio.

Jake looks more like a young Monty Clift than Frank Sinatra to me from that era.

Been very lazy this weekend, hope you had a good one!

I saw Ray Liotta play Frank some years ago. He was amazingly believeable in that film. I'm sure if Jake was chosen he'd do a good job.

Now I'd love to see Jake play the wonderful Jimmy Stuart or even Gregory Peck. Jake may become just as iconic as those two legends.

Hi Winterbird! I'm yeay on Jake working with Scorsese too - I just can't see Leo as Sinatra though. It'll be interesting to see who he picks. But I really can see Jake in a role from this period - Looking at Jake in that hat, maybe he thinks so too. Lazy weekend for me too :)

Hey Sheba :D Jake would do a great job I'm sure. Jimmy Stewart is just wonderful. I really can see Jake in a biopic of this kind (more so than a sports biopic).

Hi Anon :D Jake just looks gorgeous! And very funny too. Definitely working the hair and eyebrow products! I'll take another look to see how much plucking was going on :D

All three were holding hands, Sheba, so I thought maybe it was the emotion of the red carpet, for the photocall. It's a really nice picture :)

Hi Anon! It is a lovely interview :) I'm very partial to the name Smilesalot, someone special has it as her LJ ID :D

Awwww, what a sweet and funny interview with Jake! Sweet and funny - despite the definitely overplucked eyebrows...
LOL at the abnormally sized head again!
Thanks so much for posting it!!

Jake working with Scorcese would be great!!! But I'd prefer a thriller or something - maybe finally with Jake as a "darker" character?? Oh, I could soooooo imagine Jake in the role Leonardo DiCaprio played in The Departed...
Not sure about biopics... Not sure whom I wanted Jake to play...

Have a good start into the new week everyone!

Hey Uli! Jake is so funny - the start of this was surreal! A Scorsese thrill would be good - a very meaty role for Jake. I do love hearing Jake's name mentioned in connection, however loosely, with a great director :D have a good Monday to you too.

Great Post! Loved the video...so funny!

Oh I would love to see Jake as a young Frank...I think he's got the look no problem and we all know he can SING! I really want to see him play Joe Namath too...still waiting for more on that. So much waiting when it comes to this guy (as mentioned here numerous times)!
