First you have the game, then you have the movie of the game, and then you have the game of the movie of the game... Inspired, no doubt, by the box office appeal of his Prince 'you can call me Jake' Dastan, who looks hot in and out of armour, Jerry Bruckheimer has just announced Bruckheimer Games. Although Jerry is not a gamer himself, the potential of Prince of Persia to cross and recross media is obvious. The possibility of one day manipulating Dastan - looking and sounding like Jake Gyllenhaal - with a nanchuk, remote, mouse or keypad is also becoming a likelihood.
'"I think there are a lot of similarities in what we do in television and film that we can help with games," said Bruckheimer. "I felt the same way about television when we got into that about 12 years ago. We can add our expertise on top of what these great game developers are doing... I approach games the same way as I approach films or television, which is I hire really talented people and let them do what they do and support them," explained Bruckheimer. "That's been our company motto. We work very closely with the talent and try to help them get through the process."'
One of the scenes from Prince of Persia included in the ABC video caught my imagination because it does remind me so much of the games - the solitary, lone figure of the Prince on the cliff, contemplating the enormity of his task.
Movies and games... It reminds me of something Jake has said a couple of times, about the excitement and satisfaction he finds on a movie set: 'I love waking up at 4:30 in the morning and going to the set. I like staying in a hotel when I'm making a movie. I love being on set. I'm not the type of actor who leaves as soon as work's over. I stay in my trailer as long as I can. I love making movies.' This appeared in OK in March 2007.
Jake told Boyfriend magazine: 'I love waking up for work early, especially when it's around 4.30am. I love being on the set of a movie. Some people can't wait to get home, but that's not me. I could sit in my trailer or just hang around a movie set and be one of the last people to leave and be perfectly happy!'
I do like the image of Jake on a movie set perfectly happy. But at 4.30am? Personally, I love waking up for work late.

I finally realized how much muscle mass Jakey has gain for this role... After seeing that picture when he's training and wearing a blue top... I don't think I like seeing Jakey this bulky. It's almost like he have no neck! *Cries*

A good time for "Brothers." Much is made of Dec. being where the studios bring out some of their Oscar hopefuls.
Does this mean that "Nailed" will be released several months earlier than "Brothers" but only be seen in Kiev? Gosh, the movie business is strange. :-/
Hi all that's great news about Brothers. A little late but at least it's on the radar again.
I will b keeping my ear out for news in our media here as Jim Sheridans brother is directing the first ever stage production of the shawshank redemption which is having it's world premiere in Dublin later this month. So the Sheridans will be on the news so to speak.

First some very exciting new footage from PoP and now this, a date for Brothers release in theatres. What a week. :)
Let's hope we'll have soon Jake back in talk shows, on the cover of the magazines, wearing a tux on red carpets at premieres all over the world and topping the AfterElton poll. :)

I'll take December 4th! I wish it was coming out sooner, but that is at prime time movie season so that is really good news. It hopefully means it will premiere at some of the fall festivals like Toronto or Venice. Good news. :)

I have been hoping and hoping that a PoP game comes out around the time of the movie release with "Jake" as the prince instead of the normal animated version of the prince as the prince, ya know? Oh I hope they decide to do that. I will buy it for my son and at last ask him to teach me how to play video games - LOL!!

Brothers on December 4th?! You took the words right out of my mouth - this was the original release date - in 2008! What on earth is going on?! And, of course, on IMDB they are still listening 5 countries as releasing it BEFORE December 4th (ya right...a film like this released in the states after Russia)!!! Remember when getting to go see one of Jake's movies wasn't so freaking complicated?! I, like so many others here, cannot wait until it's all settled and we can not only plan away but we can get ready for tons of interviews, photos, talk shows, etc.! Whooowheee! I just love all that stuff!
