[Updates] Jake Gyllenhaal - it's tennis but not as we know it... PoP stickers with a Jake grin and Source Code tweets

Jake Gyllenhaal rips his trousers off, swigs booze, wears skimpy shorts, models a headband, falls over, gets fallen on - this can mean only one thing! The Vampire Weekend video for Giving Up The Gun is here and I will never watch Wimbledon the same way again.

The updated bit...

You too can own 60 re-usable full-colour Prince of Persia stickers! And because there's only three weeks until this is out, you just about have time to plan what you will do with 60 re-usable full-colour PoP stickers. I'm already imagining what the dashboard of my car would look like. I wonder what thoughts Jake was channelling when he posed for this one. Thanks to Steph!

We have much to be grateful for with Duncan Jones. Not only is he enormously talented, geeky and fun (he's also not bad on the wii), there's a good chance that he will tweet his way through directing Source Code. Just after tweeting 'Lovely snow falling in Montreal this morning. Doing camera test today, then catching flight to London for weekend! Fun awaits!' Duncan gave us our very first Source Code set pic.

Of course, there is a downside to being a director and that is that your star may give you this stuff: 'Jake G just gave me a packet of something called "maple almond butter." I dont like the sounds of it. Hope this is not a Brokeback moment.' Give me beans, any day of the week.

Good luck to Duncan on BAFTA Sunday.

There's been so much going on today but I don't want this to be lost in it all because it is fantastic! And I could watch it over and over...

Hey, thanks a lot for the screencaps!! Where I am right now I can't watch the video unfortunately, but at least I know there will be something cute and funny waiting for me (apart from the new PoP video) when I finally get home after a delayed :((((( flight....

Nice shorts, Jake.

He looks like he's channelling Jim Carrey when he does that throat-slashing gesture. :)

*Waves* to poor Uli stuck at the airport not even able to play Jake videos for entertainment. xxx

LOL! He's even hot in that headband. I didn't think that would be possible!!! (Remembering pictures of Björn Borg in the 70's...)

Ahhhh, how freaking cute and sexy is Jake in the VW video!!!! I am at work and had to watch it with the sound off but can't wait to see it again.

And all the PoP stuff and the NY Times video and pic..

It's all Jake all the time...fantastic. :D

Ha! Ha! Ha! That was so great! I wish we could see every take they made, Jake must of had such a good time doing this. I agree with Anna, incredibly, he does look sexy even with that headband. I'm not crazy about those shorts, though. :DDD

Loved the "Making of" POP vignette, the movie looks beautiful. It was great to finally see those ostriches in the flesh! I can't believe people really ride those things! They look huge!

Hello! Trying to fit Jaking in with more pancake consumption...

Uli! You poor thing but I'm glad that the screen caps are alleviating the airport boredom. Two videos waiting for you.

Hey Rubes! I'm not mentioning the shorts...The throat slashing thing was Oscar worthy - watch and learn Jeff Bridges.

Hey Anna! I'm not mentioning the headband either - but I wouldn't mind owning it... Sigh, Borg, one of my first loves :D

Hi Get Real! I hate to say it but possibly watching it with the sound off is the best option :D If anyone asks, I didn't say that... So much Jake! And I have to see the PoP video again as I had to sneak a viewing of that at work today by pretending I was phoning up British Telecom and needed my office door shut :D

Hey Olympia! Wouldn't that be amazing?! To see a behind the scenes thing about this as it's way more exciting than Blame it!

I don't recommend ostrich riding.

I'm now going to update the post with some of the stuff I was going to put in the post! So much going on :D

You know, I wish we had with BBM all the stuff we'll get for POP. I'd love BBM stickers (especially reusable!) and Jack and Ennis figurines, complete with campfire, tent, whisky and beans. Instead of ostriches and camels we could have had a bear, an elk and a dumbass mule. Hours of fun! :D

Just saw the video on a music site and could not stop laughing - love it! I knew it would be here too for all the WDWers to enjoy! I especially love the tan lines with those horrible shorts!! Jake simply likes to have fun.

I wrote a comment about kissing ass and pahking cahs in the havahad yahd in the last post but it's gone (???) Something tells me Ruby has the access code and is able to delete comments she doesn't like - LOL! Well I will say it again - although I was accused of 'softening the insult' by referring to what a certain WDWer has in common with Jake (kissing ass) I did not intend to! But good idea for future commenting! :-) And, good question Ruby...can one park their card in the Harvard yard? You were there this summer WDW, right? Did you see cars parked there???

Great Great Great stuff coming our way every day...we asked for this...now let's see if we can keep up with it!! I love the new PoP featurette and now stickers?! Wonderful!

Looking forward to new stuff each and every day for a while to come! Happy Weekend all :-)

P.S. Just saw Olympia's comment about BBM stickers and the like - imagine?! Obviously BBM was not the genre that PoP is so there, of course, would never be that type of hype (or merchandising) but if there were we would would have bought every single item!! *heavy sigh*

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Olympia! I kind of keep BBM in this serious side of my head (which admittedly doesn't consume a lot of space) so I could never associate it with dolls. It's kind ogf in my heart, you know? But PoP!! This film is just so much fun - I want to surround myself in PoP stuff :D

Hey BBMISwear :-) Your comment is still there in the last thread, I just went back and checked. I answered you and Silver posted in between so just look further back :D

This video is unbelievable! Jake just knows how to have a laugh - he has a laugh and he clearly had a great time doing this! OMG it must have been a scream on set! What a cool thing to do!

It's a very odd pic of Jake on the cover of the stickers book :DD

You could have filled your Green Room ten times over, BBMISwear :-) I have a feeling that with PoP, Love and Other Drugs and Source Code coming, you're gonna need a Green House!

BBMISwear said...

I'm back...but promise I won't stay for long...there are other commenters that need the floor too after all - LOL! But I have to say that I am laughing at the green room/green house comment because I thought of that myself. What am I going to do with all this PoP stuff if the family says "keep it in the green room"?! The green room is too small...you know WDW...you slept there! I will have to make do I suppose. Hmmmmm.

Oh, and while you were here commenting, WDW, I checked back and saw my last comment...I Swear it was missing for a few minutes...it's Ruby, I know it is. She has funny magic powers an can do that kind of stuff!

Okay, I'm really done now. I must go be productive. The world does not revolve around drunk tennis playing maple almond butter eating Persian princes ya know (although it should)! :-)

Carol said...

Can't wait to see this when I get home later. It won't play on my phone:(

It's great that everyday seems to bring more absolute gems.....long may it continue:)

Ruby said...

blinkin' flip, what now?! First I'm an ass-kisser, now it seems I'm a witch...

Actually I'm a Persian High Priestess and that Prince is mine. And his dagger too! mwahahaha.....

Loving the Tennis Jake description BBMISwear :-) I love that green room - fill it up!

Hey Carol! I know - it's amazing. So much every day

Rubes! That dagger has my name on it (like the ring) :D

"I see you shine in your way, go on, go on, go on....."

Loved that video and catchy tune. That's the Jake I've missed for so long, ever since the 'Riverdance' in Donnie Darko. Nice to have that fun-loving, young, sexy side back.

He's fabulous and I hope he has a fantastic year in 2010 enjoying the last of his 20's. So much hope for him.

Thanks WDW for the PoP featurette too. Anything new is always a delight. As for PoP stickers, OMGosh, I'm gonna make them sick of me at work. First it was Obama all over the place, now it's Jake. My excuse, 'If you want to see me smiling all the time instead of my normal scowl - let me have my stickers'

Safe flight Uli and Brits keep warm this weekend. Brrrrrr.

Morning all! What a beautiful day! Colder than Vancouver though.

Hi BBMISwear :-)

Morning Sheba! I recorded the video last night and enjoyed watching it with my porridge this morning. Not that common to see Jake on tv here and it was great! (* whispers shame about the song though *) :D

have a lovely day! And GB got a gold in the olympics! Yeay!

sheba said...

Yay, stayed up to watch that last night. She was fast!

Just saw this Oscar interview with Maggie, not much new but she's a gem. Apologies if this has been posted already.

Last night I dreamed that Jake was filming a comedy about a klutzy camper who got tangled up in his tent. It was being filmed at a park a little ways up the street from where I live. I had been watching the filming with some friends, and it was time to stop filming for the day.

Jake gave me a lift home, as he was going right past where I live.
later I passed him on the street, and he knew my name.

That's how I knew it wAS A DREAM.... :-/

Any news on BAFTA presenters?

I loved the video. He looks so hot in those shorts. I had to fan myself.

And I can't wait to be introduced to the Prince :D

This afternoon I'm going to see "Shutter Island," which has many many links to Jake: Ben Kingsley ["Prince of Persia"], Mark Ruffalo ["Zodiac"], John Carroll Lynch {"Zodiac"], Michelle Williams ["Brokeback Mountain"], Elias Koteas ["Zodiac"], and maybe some that I didn't check on. Patricia Clarkson, one of my favorite actresses, is also in it.

Also in "Shutter Island": Emily Mortimer, who plays an escaped prisoner, was in "Lovely and Amazing" with Jake.

Hi there everyone! Been out for a busy day - good to see you all. I've also just been doing some video housekeeping for some recent posts - hope that improves things.

Hi Sheba! I have thoroughly enjoyed Maggie's Oscar interviews and it's lovely that Jake gets the mentions :)

Hey Paul! Oh I love dreams like that. I had a drream the other night that told me that the esxtras for the Brothers DVD included the full shower scene! I coudn't believe it! I woke up and then it was all so disappointing :D I'm not sure what to thig about Shutter Island, I feel tired of Scorsese and DiCaprio films.

Hi 16:53 - I thinik there is info on the Baftas website :)

Hey Sweetpea! Those shorts are... extraordinary...

I hope everyone's had a good day and is ready for a relaxing Sunday :)

Is Jake back in NYC? I guess he's there for the Hungry in America Project. I just read the following tweets:
-I just saw Jake Gyllenhaal in the East Village. Yes ladys, he's just as gorgeous in the flesh, if not more so.
- stalking Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman at the bookstore in the East Village made like...my day...

Morning all! Baftas Day!

Thanks, Anon :D Nice to think of Jake and Natalie out shopping together.

Have a good day - c'mon Duncan!
