Jake Gyllenhaal 20 metres tall - it must be IMAX! Jake's Easter visit to WonderCon, SF, and stuff...

Lots to get through... Hmmm, where to start? How about Prince of Persia is going to show in IMAX! This means that this May I will be able to see a 20 metre tall Jake Gyllenhaal on the screen. Admittedly, this may cause cricked neck issues, it may cause a swirly head and giddiness, it may make one not able to walk in a straight line afterwards. However, these side effects are a small price to pay for getting so close up to this...

and this....

and this...

Yes! Never before have we have seen such close ups of medieval Persian jewellery and armour!

Oh and we'll also get close ups of these three. This is the new American poster for Prince of Persia which, as Latino here points out, shows Jake, Gemma Arterton and Sir Ben Kingsley staring in different directions. Latino also remind us that some lucky ******** (insert word of choice) will be seeing Prince of Persia in its entirety at ShoWest in Vegas next week. The poster comes courtesy of UGO. May I say that I have Sir Ben Fear...?

There's a question on everyone's lips - where is the place to spend Easter this year? I have the answer for you: San Francisco! And that's because of WonderCon 2010. At 12.15 on Saturday 3 April 'Join Jerry Bruckheimer (producer), Mike Newell (director), Jake Gyllenhaal (actor, "Prince Dastan"), and Jordan Mechner (screen story, game creator), as they take the WonderCon stage to show an exclusive sneak peak from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time before its May 28 release. Set in the mystical lands of Persia, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an epic action-adventure about a rogue prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) and a mysterious princess (Gemma Arterton) who race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.' Thanks to BBMISwear for the headsup :-)

Trying to catch up with videos from the Oscars, here are two: Jake and Maggie and then Mr Blue Eyes.

Talking of the Oscars, they may be over with for one year but the eyes of some are already on next year. Jeff Wells has already speculated on a possible favourite: 'Just recently I heard from a guy — and I’m persuaded by reading the script — about a film called “Love and Other Drugs,” with a performance by Anne Hathaway as a Parkinson’s-inflicted woman. Sounds like it’s got the stuff.' It definitely has The Stuff - and it has Jake in it too...

And finally...

The suggestion that Jake Gyllenhaal could have been in Valentines Day, a film tied to one weekend: 'Jake Gyllenhaal and Orlando Bloom both turned down the role of Holden, which went to Bradley Cooper.' Another very sensible movie decision from Jake.

Valentines Day is a bad movie, but I hope that Jake will dare to play a gay character again.

More great stuff WDW, thanks for the update! I am so excited about having an IMAX theater 3 minutes from my house...maybe I can bop out and bop back daily and the family won't even notice I'm gone - LOL!

I wonder if Jake at WonderCon means no cute pictures of walking with mom holding a chocolate Easter bunny this year? :-)

Olympia! Quick! Send your info to Craig's List for the Ottawa casting call!!! (Does your tax season run until April 15th like it does in the states? I hope not or this won't be very good timing for you). Hmmmmm.

Loving all the Oscar video clips that keep circulating - what a great reminder of the great return of Red Carpet Jake who we missed so much! And, it really all pumps me up for all the great stuff to come this year. Whooowheee...what a year!

:-)

Hi there Pilot! I've not seen it but I've heard bad things... I think Jake will always pick a good role regardless :D

Definitely Anon!

Hi Silver! I'm flying north for the spring... :)

Hey BBMISwear - posting at the same time :-) If we don't know where to find you this late spring/summer we know now :D

Yes, It's time for Olympia to brush up on those acting skills - or sitting in a train skills... I'm glad you like the vids :D

OMG! They need extras for filming in Ottawa!!!???? Saddly, there's no way I'm available that time of the year, we'll be in the final rush of tax season that ends April 30. I couldn't do it anyway unless they made me play a simpleton because all I could do would be to sit there smiling and giggling like an idiot. :DDD But maybe I'll know someone who's in SC, I'll have to pay extra close attention while watching the movie.

There were no giant Dastan at my Alice in Wonderland viewing except for the "Courage" poster in the lobby.

Thanks for the close-up of the medieval jewellery and armour. ;D POP in Imax is great news but I'm not sure if I'll survive a 20 meter treasure trail. :DD

Hey Olympia! I understand completely - I fear my limited acting abilities would be... stretched! OMG a 20 metre treasure trail... now there's a thought... ugh!

Yesterday was shown a preview of 15 minutes of POP to the press in Paris. The site fantasy said the film is in line with Pirates of the Caribbean.

Good move on Jake's part to avoid Valentines Day. It had a few funny moments but a poor effort overall.

I got an email from Playusa aswell WDW that my copy of Brothers was in the post. That was a nice surprise when I checked my mail tonight:)

We have no IMAX cinema but there is one in Dublin so it will be an excuse to plan a weekend there. Not that I ever need any to do that:)

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Jake was offered the wrong character in "Valentine's Day." If he could have gotten Ashton Kutcher's character, the movie might have been a lot better.

Morning all!

Hi Carol! It's well worth a trip to London for me too - IMAX - wow! We'll have to see who gets their DVD first :D

Morning Paul!

New pics and they're H-O-T!

WDW, you gotta stop doing this!!! Close ups of Jake's bare torso are making it very hard for me to concentrate on my job.

I've never seen a movie in IMAX before. Maybe I'll make an exception for "Prince of Persia."
