But an Oscar, complete with a Jeff Bridges standing ovation, is most certainly due to IHJ for the most incredible effort in gathering everything together for us all. There are several videos of Jake, which chart his progress along a red carpet lined with ravenous interviews on one side and fans on the other yelling 'We love Jake!' Not alone there then. This gave Jake a chance to talk about Prince of Persia - 'No sandals for me in this movie'...
... to talk about why he didn't turn blue...
... and to give a message of love for Maggie. 'I can't express how much I love her as my sister, but this is an extraordinary feat and she deserves it. She has for so many performances given and this is just the kind of accumulation of all those. It's amazing to be part of it.' The hanky in the pocket was real, just in case he got 'sniffly', 'which I may if I see my sister up there'. And Jake then warmly thanked the interviewer for such a question.
More interviews to come no doubt, but now time to look at Jake himself as he re-entered his natural element - movie star shining on a red carpet. I can't think of any other actor who can portray such an array of emotions in just a few steps. So here are just a few of the faces of Jake Gyllenhaal at the Oscars, 7 March 2010.

Am at work...shhh....and will have to watch the videos when I get home to relive Jake's charismatic and sexy and wonderful self.
Also, if there is any video of it, Jake was seen around the limo line on the E! after party coverage. They stayed on him for a while, looking amazing, and said how they like him and how good he looked, etc.

Wonderful recap (part 1) WDW! The captions for each picture had me smiling and laughing and that picture of Jeff and Maggie brought tears to my eyes it is such a happy one!
Too bad the first video (reality tv fan or something like that?) has been pulled - I haven't seen that one yet. There's a lot I'm sure I haven't seen yet as today was much too busy of a day to look around but I'm sure a lot will surface over the next few days. You're right - something to enjoy while Jake is busy working!

Thanks, WDW, for your excellent coverage of Jake's return to The Oscars. He looked amazing, happy and so proud of Maggie. She, btw, was truly gorgeous in that dress. What style she has! Her choices are always perfect. It was a wonderful night and now we have all of these breathtaking pictures for our memories thanks to IHJ. I really mean it when I say this is the best place to come to for all one needs to know about Jake! :)

But really?? very sad??? He didn't look or sound sad! I looked though literally hundreds of smiling pics to choose the ones for this post and he looks like he was having the time of his life, supporting his sister and revelling in her happiness. Jake was so so proud. We have no idea how Jake's feeling, except for the photos and interviews and in most of them he has a big grin on his face, I'm glad to say :D And so do I when I look at them :)

Great posts we are so lucky to have you - I didn't get to see any of the red carpet stuff with Jake, watched Sky One and saw him walk past behind Angela Whats-her-name (used to be on Coronation St)and he was waving to the fans who all screamed in excitement (I felt the same watching at home:D)

Well of course we don't know how he really feels, but since a few months he looks and appears happier to me than had in a looooong time... So, from what I can see, he seems to be having a great time!! And to me it feels like we have "our good old" Jake back...
Oh, I wish I could see all the interviews, like, NOW!!!!! But I can't... And patience is not my strong side when it comes to Jake...
