Jake Gyllenhaal thanks his Facebook fans, new PoP pics, and Jake and his 'plastic abs' do their bit for lego

I thought it was Monday. But I must be wrong because we have another Jake Gyllenhaal Facebook video! But this time Jake doesn't answer a specific fan question. Instead he thanks us all for joining the Prince of Persia Facebook fan page community. As if anyone could resist?! Watch it here.

Some people find themselves moved to poetry and art at the sight of a meadow full of spring's first flowers, or at the sight of a young animal, furry and taking its first wobbly steps, or at waves lapping on to a white sandy beach at dusk while majestic turtles bury their eggs - for me, it's simple. Stick Jake Gyllenhaal on a horse and I'll never run short of rhyme or paint. I thank you Disney for the new Prince of Persia publicity stills which are indeed works of art.

Sir Ben looks like such a nice chap...

While it's less than certain that I will be able to move Prince Dastan himself in to my flat, I can at least have Prince Dastan lego and it's good to know that lego has roped in Jake for some publicity and that he has been involved in a voiceover. By the sound of it, Jake recorded his piece in Montreal a couple of Saturdays ago: 'With Jake's busy schedule, it was tough to find the right time slot to record, but as always, we were more than happy to accommodate last minute openings. When we received word a few days ago that Jake could patch in through ISDN from a Montreal studio, we were happy to oblige. The Saturday morning session was a pleasant surprise. The recording went smoothly, and we even finished ahead of schedule.'

'Jake was quite the professional, even staying in character between takes at times! He was very friendly, and kept us all entertained with his playful side comments, (An example of his insight: We should all aspire to the ripped physique and "plastic abs" of his Lego counterpart.) Needless to say, Jake proved to be the perfect Prince of Persia.' The short will be released at the same time as the film. More here. I love how Jake stays in character even when he's lego.

We know from GQs of old that Jake keeps a journal. It therefore seems only right that Lego Jake Dastan does the same thing, as we can see here:

Jordan Mechner's graphic novel Prince of Persia: Before the Sandstorm has now been published. It's available from Amazon and you can read more about it at Jordan's blog.

The Volcano may have vanquished the mighty Iron Man, but Mother Nature has at last accepted my sacrifices and tomorrow the metal birds will again soar across the sky!

Pictures from links and from Disney, thanks to IHJ.

Hey WDW! ooooh 'citing, 'citing! Amazing pic...of the horse ;)

Cut this out of Sunday Times Culture to post here:

"West London's finest, the band Mumford & sons, recently made their US debut at the Troubadour, in West Hollywood, much to the delight of the Brokeback Mountain actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who applauded shyly from a celeb-only balcony. Jake was chatted up by Mumford mums, flown to LA for the occasion, who had no idea who he was. One confided afterwards that he is a 'very nice boy - but he does need a shave. His whiskers are very tickly'.

How. Does. That. Woman. Know. His. Whiskers. Are. 'Tickly'. Huh? HUH?

It's so lovely, sin't it, Sass?! Love to hear Jake knowing we're here. He is :)

Who complained about Jake's tickly whiskers?. arrrr.
I would pay to change places.
I would pay any amount of money... money I could afford of course)
My heart is going thump thump and pitter patter....*swoon* after this wonderful post.
I wonder if Jake will take a flat in the UK. He loves it so much over there...and they love him...maybe give his mom a place to visit and bring the grand baby.
*swoon*

Sass, my heart thumps like that too so many times as we run up to PoP :) How I would love that! Jake just looks at home in the UK. I'm glad he likes it although to me he is the LA guy through and through. But if he should fancy a flat in the uk to spend some time at, Oxford's pretty and very handy for London and the airports :D

A lovely thought, eh, TD :)

Oh yes. Agree. And agree Jake would decorate Oxford very appropriately too...Very pretty!

Loving all the great PoP stuff and the Lego stuff cracks me up (although the voice over sounds like it will be great to listen to)! All of this has me psyched to build my two PoP Lego sets. Well, not me really...I roped in a 13 and 11 year old to do it...ummm, I mean...help me! More later this week as things progress - LOL!

I bought the PoP movie storybook today...how funny to be shopping for myself in the little kid section of my local Barnes and Noble!

I finally read the GQ interview last night and, well, think I need to read it again. I'm completely blown away at first read but not sure I can really put it all into words (not that I need to or anyone really wants to hear it...but not sure I can really describe it even to myself). I don't think this makes much sense. *heavy sigh*

Looking forward to more great new stuff this week (I'm assuming there will be as there always is lately...man, we've been so spoiled - and loving it)!!!

Until next time... :-)

Hiya WDW; Hiya Fellow Gyllenhaalics

I love the action picture with his hair flying in the wind. He looks so relaxed and in control even when he's in motion. A true star. All these pictures are not helping me to remain calm. I cannot wait. So glad that it comes out on a holiday(Memorial Day). I can go to an early matinee showing then check it out later on that night. Can't stay all day or my family will wonder about me...

And Jake can only get a flat in the UK if he keeps his place in Cali. Because I plan on moving out West in the future and like the idea of him being just a few hours away from me. Then again, if I end up moving to the UK then he should spend most of his time there instead of here. He could invite us all over and cook for us(I know that is the collective fantasy of the fandom. LOL)

Morning everyone!

He most certain would, TD! We must suggest it :D

Hi 23:51! It's good to hear Kirstie tweeting that although it's not the first time she's done so and nothing happened the last time. But it's always good to hear.

Good to see you BBMISwear :-) and we're looking forward to those lego building reports! I've loved huying this stuff - with more on the way - but it's a shame that UK book shops (at least those round me) don't sell them. I'd love to see Jake on the shelves!

I'm glad you got some quiet time to read GQ :)

Morning Stace! I love that poic, how I love that pic! PoP is out here the week before our May Day holiday weekend so I've taken the Friday off (21 May) for a day of PoP indulgence - and then I can have two long weekends :D

Hi Sweetpea! It really is cute lego - it'd be great if they do a lego poP game like the Idiana Jones one, which I love. It looks made for it!

Have a lovely day everyone!

What's this about the metal birds flying again soon? Do you mean the air travel ban has been lifted?

I'm too old for Legos. Sorry. I might buy the new graphic novel--I liked the previous one. GQ is a possibility. I used to fead it a lot, until I realized that I would *never* pay the prices they charged for most of the stuff in that mag. Back in the late seventies, jumpsuits for men were fashionable. I bought a peach-colored one, and a light blue one. They were never all that comfortable, though. :-(

A random aside: It's so weird seeing Jeff from Coupling in a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and Sir Ben Kingsley. He was my favorite on that show...it wasn't as good after he left.

You guys are going to get me into this whole Lego thing soon...*sigh*

Nice PoP pics. Jake on horseback is always really great. Disney is coming out fast and furious with PoP stuff. It is hard to keep up. :)

My 8 year old nephew, who is the Lego king, will love those Legos, lol!

Nice to see Jake continue to do Facebook videos.

Thanks so much for the Gemma videos, WDW! It was so wonderful to hear her and Wossy praising Jake and PoP. :D

Btw, if any of you have seen the Rachel Zoe Project her assistant Brad tweeted about Jake. :)

And thanks for the SC Chicago filming extended video. Love seeing Jake in action.

One more thing, lol. It is so great to see Jake and Sir Ben Kingsley together!

Hi Paul! Bits and pieces but the wind is due to change direction later this week bringing not only no ash but HEAT! Oh blimey, I rememebr jumpsuits...

Hey there Paola! It's a truly wonderful lego ad - I've out a YouTube version of it in the new post - love it!

Hi Stace! I'm sure you'll get the lego bug - it's too cute not to get :D

Hey Get Real! Thanks so mcuh - I'm glad you're enjoying the updates. And that tweet is great! And love that you call JR Wossy too :D I like the idea of Jake and Sir Ben working together too. I find it hard to take in how amazing all this is.

Hope everyone has a good evening!
