And more than that, there's a video of it. And it's all thanks to friends at HeyUGuys (an award winning UK movie blog that I urge you to follow) who recorded it and sent it along to me today, with a note that this might make my day. And it did. Please excuse my jumping up and down in the video - I'm usually very sedate. It's the Jake Factor.
Jake also has a strange effect on physics because I realise now Jake squeezed my right arm and not my left. And what felt like a couple of minutes is just a few seconds but Jake made me feel very special for those seconds. If you also watch the end of the video there's some extraordinary tongue action...
While we're talking about 9 May, here are some leaflets I picked up from the concierge desk.
We all remember Jake cooking the iPad on Jonathan Ross that week and we all heard about the Pickled Onion Eating Competition - behaviour that takes place nightly in pubs up and down Blighty. Now we can catch a look.
I am at least grateful that when I met Jake Gyllenhaal I didn't have a pickled onion in my gob.
And finally...
On 24 May, Jake popped by one of his favourite charities, New Eyes for the Needy. Read the full story here and more on Jake and his eyes here tomorrow. Hi Linda! OMG I was super excited! I think it shows - thank heavens the sound was low. I couldn't believe it when Dave told me today he had it on film - I had a horrible morning at work and then this made me grin and grin.
I'm so lucky, I've seen Jake about 8 times now - at the Baftas, at Cannes, at Toronto (several times!) and at Rome and I have 4 autographs hanging on my walls - but this was super special in London as Jake held my arm and said thanks when I told him I loved his films :)
If anyone is new to WDW do go back and check out the Cannes posts from May 2007 as it shows the moments when Jake was pointing and laughing at myself and my good friend Mouk! Lots of adventures over the years.

Thank you TD *) It's a wonderful memory and it's strange to see it as it's kind of like a mirror image of my memory! It all happens so fast but times does weird things when you have Jake in front of you. I recommend it! Also, it's not often you can see images of yourself truly happy. I hate seeing myself on anything but I look at me here and know I was so happy - I had stars in front of my eyes.
Straight after I knocked back 2 big glasses of wine! You wouldn't believe how fast they went down. It was so perfect. And then Uli and I saw PoP. This video is my best souvenir - it's something I can look back on and remember that it really did happen. I'll never be brave enough to ask for a photo so this does the trick :)
I'm glad you liked the JR vid - I'm sorry it's slow. It's probably due to the world cup on YouTube. But if you have any trouble tomorrow, I'll upload it for you and I can email you a link. The eye charity is interesting and relates to something I have for the post tomorrow. So more of that then.
Good to hear you liked the post - I had a lot of trouble with it - deleting, rewriting etc. I think it had a lot of emotion behind it, especially as I had a very bad day otherwise today.
Thanks Silver! I have no doubt you'll have plenty of times to see Jake! We're lucky in Britain, he does come over. I went all the way to LA to see him once (not that I need much of an excuse to go to LA, love the place!) - for the Zodiac premiere - and they cancelled it when I was there. It's never easy, and you take what Jake can give. But always worth it!

My slow catch up is slow but sure is fun! Each and every post here is so full of great stuff and it's against my nature to go through any of it quickly so I guess I've just accepted the fact this will go on for a week or more - ha ha! It's all good!!

Hi Kate, I have been following your website since I saw Prince of Persia in the cinema 3 weeks ago (yes, you may digitally punch me for not having known about Jake before ;)).
You do an amazing job for an amazing actor, and I'm so happy for you you got to meet him again! :-) I know what it feels like to meet somebody you adore and I can totally relate to your story. Seconds turn into minutes indeed, and being down to earth turns into drooling and absurdly wide smiles, haha. Great to have it on video.

Is it ok if I point out that the video runs really slow? I thought it was because of YT and the World Cup yesterday, but it's still not working properly.

Hi LadyEkster! There's something up with the video and it's not just my version - also on the Hotsauce channel so the problem's with the original. When I downloaded it it plays fine, but not when it's uploaded.
I just tried three new versions but the same. I'll work on it later.
