With mere days until Jake takes to the public stage for his live interview with the New Yorker and Ed Zwick on Saturday, the time may soon be upon us when we will know whether Jake has been letting his hair down for the summer break or if it is indeed for a new role. Hi 17:38 - Jake likes a wide range of music. Most recently we've heard him say how much he likes Mumford & Sons, Florence and the Machines. Others include Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Jenny Lewis, Sebasian and Belle, Bruce Springsteen, Rufus Wainwright. Lots of different sounds.

I like your comments, Lemniscate. Some guys look good in beards (Sebastian Cabot, Orson Wells) and some don't (the Smurfs, Gabby Hayes). Some look so bad that they give beards a bad image (Gabby and the Smurfs again). Jake is one of he better ones, I feel.
At one time or another, both of my nephews have grown beards. I was relieved when they shaved them off. Jake is having a little fun now, but probably his beard will be going away soon.

The depressed reaction is that Jake is growing up, growing older, hiding behind hair, losing his innocent fun - just like exuberant Jack did - from endless bitching and prejudice-for-prejudice' sake. Compare young Jack with old Jack - is that what is being created?
The funny-side reaction is that Jake now indeed has a beard; watching Ted Casablanca etc trying to deal with it is rather amusing. They suggested there was a beard... be careful what you wish for! (I wouldn't put it past Jake to have done this deliberately).
