The Love and Other Drugs feature from W has now made it on to the magazine's website with the photograph above - a shame that they have spelled Jake's name wrong though.
A tweet today suggested that Jake may have arrived in London: 'Just seen Jake Gyllenhaal whilst at a client press day! He's looking good!' No mention of the beard and when I ask if he had shaved off his beard, the answer was 'No, he was sporting the same stubble as ever!' I'd hesitate to call Jake's Sasquatch look 'stubble' (unless Jake has shaved just a bit). In fact, by the time of the Love and Other Drugs premiere, Jake could look like this!

Great news about the London premiere and maybe December 31st being the release date (again)! Is that typically a reliable site? They certainly don't have much info posted there. Can't wait to hear more...I'll be so happy for you Brits after all the ups and downs involving this movie's UK release.

LMAO at that pic!!!!! I happen think the beard in the real pic yesterday wasn't that bad. *ducking the stones thrown at me* It actually works with the length of his hair, the shirt, etc. Although I do hope he shaves very soon, especially for the Saturday event.
In fact, I wish he had grown out his own facial hair for BBM. I still don't get why they had him wear a fake mustache when we know he can grow tons of scruff.

It is a pet peeve of mine too. If I were Jake and especially his PR who's job is to make sure that spelling is correct I would be all over all these press articles that misspell Gyllenhaal...grr! :p

I'm thinking that the scenes where a moustache was required were very short (in the whole scheme of things), and it would have been a waste of production time to grow a real big one out for just a brief filming.
gyllenhaalisgr8, the issue is that it didn't look as real as it could have if he just took a few days to grow some real facial hair. Many reviewers gave Jake a hard time because of that and I think it would have added to the authenticity of those scenes. BBM was a truly brilliant movie that affected all of us but I do take issue with the fake mustache.
gyllenhaalisgr8 - you may be absolutely right about moustache. It was short scene, and moustache were quite thick. As I remember very young Jake - his facial hair was/were? very delicate at that time. It wouldn't look like a very mature man moustache.
I will have to see BBM once again to check this fake moustache. For me it looked real, I didn't suspect anything :)
Oh, Jack Twist! So badly missing Ennis, who was not brave enough to reach for happiness. Though Jack was mentally stronger, he couldn't convince Ennis to live together. As much as I understand Ennis I wish he would have at least try .
OMG that's my birthday. Will definitely have to try and get over for that one:)
The way a majority of movies are made maybe some scenes were done with the mustache and a week later had to film something that happened before they were older.
He couldn't keep growing one and then shaving it off..and then a week later have to have a scene with it...looking just like it did before.
Just a thought.

I didn't expect him to jet off to London, not when he has a date in NY with the New Yorker mag interviewer.

I had a little discussion with a friend of mine yesterday regarding the mystique of physical attraction. (Whom I incidentally infected with the Gyllenbug - She's not quite reached full blown Gyllenhaalicism yet, but judging from the feverish onset of her symptoms, it won't be long now. Mwahahaha! *evil grin* ;-)
Anyhow, we ended up pitting our turn-ons and our turn-offs against each other. And, on showing her gyllenhaalisgr8's ZZ-top inspired Gyllenbeard pic, I uttered (to my own astonishment and hers): I'd still love him even if he sported a uni-brow, a bald head, a barrel belly, a hairy back, hairy ears and wonky eyes... (in vino veritas?!)
All my friend could say was: YOU ARE TOTALLY BONKERS!

Good morning! This possible premiere in London makes me really excited!! Who knows... Maybe I will get to see Jake for real a second time this year? I just got a bit worried, cause I remembered, that I have a 3-day-meeting at work in December that I will have to attend! I am just hoping that that is later in the month! Argh!!

And he has a wonky walk, too (I watched Rendition the other day and had to smile at his walk again... :D), so I guess that should make up for the (so far) missing barrel belly... ( And his eyebrows definitely look like they are ready to mate on the top of his nose and then have little children on the back of his ears and back! :D :D :D
Maybe I should make clear, that I looove his eyebrows (I would be happy if they stayed where they are, though...) and that I find it adorable that he walks a bit funny...

In regards to Jake's mustache in BBM. I agree that the reason probably was that the filming schedule was not that long and that they filmed lots of scenes out of sequence. And also just to let you know I thought it worked fine too. But I think Jake grows great mustaches/beards and it would have been cool to see him have a real one. Even he complained about the fake mustache in interviews, lol. I still think Jake and the movie are brilliant! :)
I wonder about the Jake in London sightings?!?! He will have to be back in NYC soon.

Hi Serene Hill! I know, there's so little about LAOD outside America. I hope that changes soon. Jake (and Maggie) both go to that Medical Center quite a bit and it does pretty much everything from contact lenses and alternative therapies to dentistry so Jake could go there forr all his medical needs. He's papped there so often - no matter which exit/entrance he uses - that the running joke here is that Jake must work there :D

All of this talk of the imfamous fake BBM 'stache got me thinking: no one complains about a movie's worth of fake hair in PoP! He had a WEAVE, didn't grow it completely out all by himself. Hey, it's Hollywood. They do what they have to do. And we just buy our tickets and drool, real hair or not!!
