[Update] Tributes to Jill Clayburgh as Love and Other Drugs moves on to NYC and more videos of Jake Gyllenhaal from the LA premiere

[Updated] Jill Clayburgh, the actress who plays Jake Gyllenhaal's mother in Lover and Other Drugs, died yesterday of Leukaemia. At the NYC press conference today, Jake paid tribute to the Oscar-nominated actress, Jake: 'When I said before about people who live their life, some people have lived it shorter than others, but I think Jill is one of those people, unfortunately, who didn’t have as much time as some. But I think it’s a testament to the fact that we worked together for two days … I heard [that she passed away] this morning. She was just amazing. I know my parents just recently went through a divorce, and my mother said to me that "An Unmarried Woman" was just such an incredible film for her to watch and helped her so much. I think the work that she [Jill Clayburgh] did, and the woman that she is and was, she was just incredible.'

'Did you know that she had leukemia before she died? Gyllenhaal: No. I think that was maybe part of it about her. Her living with that for as long as she did made her appreciate all of the things that she had. Someone like her [in her medical condition], working for two days on a movie like this, it was insane. She was just loving and open and an incredible actor to watch — and giving, even with the few lines that she had, which is a great irony.'

Anne: 'She and George [Segal, who plays Gyllenhaal’s father in "Love and Other Drugs"] set your character up so beautifully with their performances, because you understood the world from which [Jamie Randall] came, who he was raised by. I think both of their contributions to the film — I think I speak for all of us when I say our prayers and best wishes go out to Jill’s family.'

On with the post...

I don't want to distract anyone from reading Lisa's amazing account of seeing Jake Gyllenhaal at the LA premiere on Thursday night, so, if you haven't read it, do check out the post below. However, it looks like the Love and Other Drugs publicity train has now moved on to New York City, with tweets that Jake, Anne Hathaway and Ed Zwick are in the city for a press day. This fits with the new photos today of Jake boarding a private plane. As we know from PoP, when it comes to moving around the world for film publicity, a private plane is the way to go.

[Update] You can read a lovely piece from Jeff Wells at the NYC Waldorf Astoria (18th floor) press conference here. Thanks to Monica for the heads up!

We have more videos from Thursday evening with no doubt more to come. And here are the introductions that Lisa photographed and saw from her hot seat on the front row.

Here is the interview from MovieWeb.

Anne 'told Access [Hollywood] she hopes the film’s adult themes won’t scare off viewers. ”[It’s] a lot racy, a lot racy, I keep talking to people who’ve seen the film I’m like, ‘Was it too sexy for you? You OK?’” she told Access. “I think it’s one of those [films] that you have to know someone really well to recommend it to them, but hopefully people wont hesitate to [see it.]”'

Jake spoke to ITN about his relationship with Anne: 'As a result of us being where we are with our successes and our failures and all the things creatively, we just came together in a really special way, in a very intimate way, that is rare.' You can see that video here.

There is another here from On The Red Carpet. '“We only had sex once in Brokeback Mountain and we have sex like 18 times in this movie,” laughed Gyllenhaal... It's racy but then I think it becomes about real intimacy and real love between two people.”' And we have more from PoPSugar.

That's lovely, Monica! I'll update the post :) Thanks!

Hi!
WDW - thank you for the fresh informations.
It's a "flood" of interviews! Good to see Jake and Anne in them.
On that picture you've posted he looks smashing!
"we have sex like 18 times in this movie" - what can I say? It's really a lot to watch and enjoy :)

It's so many reviews now, more or less positive, but mainly positive. I read also the comments and they are strange sometimes. People from Pittsburgh(where the movie was made)complain about the accent in the movie - that is incorrect. Sometimes I'm glad that my English is not so perfect, that I can really enjoy movie without noticing that accent things.

I like that interview - http://www.filmmisery.com/?p=5027

Jill Clayburgh died(66),from chronic leukaemia - great actress, played Jamies' mother in LAOD. RIP.

Sorry, not interview, but review :)

Thanks for the headsup, WDW. I was wondering where Jake was. Seems is he dividing his time between NY and LA.

The Waldorf huh? WOW first class all the way!

Just updated the post as Jake and Anne pay tribute to Jill Clayburgh.

Hi Mermon! So many interviews! But after PoP it seems easier to handle - phew! I've just added an interview about Jill. Very sad and something to remember as we watch the film.

Hey Sweetpea - press conferences do traditionally take place in lovely hotels. It's better than the alternative!

As I mentioned, just updated the post - again... :D

I was very sorry to hear about Jill Clayburgh. I liked what Jake said about her.

I wonder why they are in NY now? I mean there isn't a grand premiere other than what we already saw not too long ago?

Hi Sweetpea - it's not so much about premieres as getting everyone together for interviews by the press. This is probably the first chance for this in NYC. They could go back and forth for weeks!

So Mrs Clayburgh played Jake's mother? I had no idea. Read the news this afternoon but didn't know about the connection. Let's hope they find a definitive cure for all sorts of cancer soon. Ugly, ugly disease.

Again, so many goodies in the post! :-D WDW, I take my hat off to you for combining WDW with NaNoWriMo in GyllenTimes like this.

Ed Zwick is beaming in that video. :-D So nice to see. And boy, does he know how to put his glasses on in the blink of an eye. *big grin*

Did anyone catch what the interviewer says at the beginning of the MovieWeb vid that makes Jake laugh? I didn't understand a single word of it.

18 times!!! This fan needs a fan to cool down. A big one.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jake moves to NYC, eventually. He'd be on the East coast too (closer to Tennessee at least).

WDW thank you for this update about Jill Clayburgh and Jake and Anne' few words about it.
I read that her performance in LAOD was great and pity they didn't give her a chance to play more.

Lisa/BBMISwear - Could you tell us more about the songs from LAOD soundtrack, which one you remember? We figured out quite a lot - it's on our forum, but probably it's many more.
And tell us, please how is it to be hold by Jake :) Does he use any Eau de cologne? I still think about your encounter with him.
It's so funny. For him it was just few seconds in his very busy, hot promotion time and for Lisa and us all over the world it's such an exciting, drooling story. If he only knew!

Hi Lady Ekster! Yes, an ugly disease is a good way to put it. I think it's a joke about Marshall Herskovitz, the produce of LAOD, but it's not very clear.

Hey Leslie! Jake does seem to be very attached to NYC these days, especially now Maggie, Peter and Ramona are based there.

Hi Mermon! Aaah the question of how Jake smells has been around for such a long time :D It's almost legendary. I remember that when I was pushed against Jake in Toronto back in 2007 I realised I should have taken a big sniff!

I'm looking forward very much to the soundtrack for LAOD :)

Good Morning!

Very charming interview with Jake and Anne. They talk about their characters in LAOD. We can see a glimpse of Jamie Lee Curtis. I love the way Jake is moving his body and leaning his head talking to someone.

Hello everyone! I'm having a go slow day today, sorting out music :D

Hi there Sass! I'm afraid to say I've not seen it - I'll put it on my LoveFilm list. I'm really glad you're enjoying the posts.

Hey Mermon! Thanks for the link :D

I hope everyone's having a good Sunday -I'm watching My Boy Jack with Daniel Radcliffe (about the son of Rudyard Kipling). It's very good.

I may of mentioned before but Zach G. was the guy in the little building waiting for the bus in 'Bubble Boy". On the commentary they talk about how he kept adding to it and they kept it.
Jake's timing and reactions in that scene are perfect.
I liked Jill a lot too. I rem. when she was with Al Pacino for 5 years. As she had said just as well they weren't right for each other But they did remain friends.

Thanks for all the new pics and the new vids. Enjoying all of it. Jake has such great poise, class and charm. I love the way he deals with these interviews.

His comments about Jill Clayburgh, RIP, were so lovely and touching.

In case we needed any further proof what a great actress Anne Hathaway is she pretended to flip out on a journalist at the press conference.

It was seriously one of the scariest things I've seen, especially when she was back to smiling right after shouting at the journo.

Source Code: Out of the American Film Market, we now have a full plot synopsis and the first photo from Jake Gyllenhaal's upcoming "Source Code" sci-fi movie, which hits theaters on October 14th, 2011 and is directed by Duncan Jones (Moon). Check out both below...

Worst Previews

Hm, this preview of Source Code sounds quite interesting.
Except the date. I think they made mistake. It suppose to be 14 or 15 of April 2011, not October.

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good day. More fireworks going off here and countless bits of rocket littering the place.

Hi 14:17! Ooh I didn't realise that was him - he was wonderful in that scene. One of my favourite moments from Bubble Boy.

Hey there Get Real!

Thanks for the tweets Monica and the link. They have the date wrong there, as Mermon says, elsewhere the date is show as April.

Hi Mermon!
