Jake Gyllenhaal on the LAOD 1990s: Mixtapes were a whole lot of effort. An Australian catch up.

After an extremely productive day working out which New Year Resolutions to break first and which clothes have to be given to the charity shop in order to make my PoP collectibles more comfortable, and before I embark on Phase 2 of the physical and mental clearout, time for a quick catch-up with Jake Gyllenhaal: Jake's on a train.

Catch-up over, here are a couple of interviews from the Australian leg of the Love and Other Drugs tour and if these don't make you laugh then you've not eaten enough mince pies and veggie nut roast this Christmas. In this interview below, Jake Gyllenhaal's flirtation skills have clearly recovered from their jetlag and the lucky interviewer feels the full weight of Jake's GyllenCharm. Jake also gets bonus points for quoting from Almost Famous.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway talk Love & Other Drugs

This audio interview below with the Perth radio station Nova, is a joyful and no holds barred celebration of what matters about Love and Other Drugs (and it's not the story or the romance). I particularly enjoyed Jake's description of making mixtapes in the days before 'drag and drop'. There is also a lovely moment when Jake and Anne are told how highly Perth regards them because they were in Brokeback with Heath and this is his town.

Waiting for a Source Code train cap from IHJ.

Happy New Year and I'm happy to stop back here to comment on a couple of things I didn't get a chance to over the last few days! First...I just read the 2010 recap post and it was terrific WDW!! So many great things went on for Jake (and therefore for us too) in 2010 and I loved reading it month by month the way you laid it out. It made me smile when you said you came face to face with Jake twice in 2010 because I did too and it made me think about how we have each had such great Jake experiences...maybe one day we will finally get to experience something like that TOGETHER!! I hope so!!

I also wanted to mention your LAOD "reports" from a bit ago (I have a lot of stuff printed and am taking my time reading when life allows me). I so enjoyed both your LAOD article on Bleeding Cool and review on MovieBrit. You are an amazing writer and are always informative and entertaining and you should be given many, many more movie related assignments in the future IMHO! Great work!

Thanks for today's post...I've seen the video already (it's indeed a good one!) but the radio interview was new. Jake and Anne did a good job while talking to complete idiots (in my opinion). Too bad when Heath/Perth/BBM was mentioned Jake and Anne could barely comment as the idiot female interviewer jumped in about seeing them naked. Lost moment for (maybe) a nice comment from J or A about Heath. *sigh*

Well I'm looking forward to 2011 and all the new Jake stuff that will come our way. Hopefully some great surprises will be included...I love surprises!!

Until next time...

:-)

Happy New Year, BBMISwear! :-). I'm still catching up on so much stuff. I'm glad you liked my recap. And thank you! It's been so good for me writing for Bleeding Cool.

I'm afraid I really enjoyed the radio interview :D I love the Aussie sense of humour and it did make me laugh. There are still so many interviews to catch up with. Jake and Anne were so busy. Good to see you! Here's hoping for some big surprises! And yes it would be so great if we could have one of our Jake adventures together for once :-)

Hi WDW ! I absolutely adore this radio interview. The great humor & the wonderful chemistry between Jake & Anne really shines through- it is just addictive . The radio hosts have fallen under their spell.

Hi Jen! So glad you liked it! You could probably hear me laughing from there. I thought Annie was particularly good there. What can you do but just go with it? So funny. And you could tell how pleased the hosts were to have Jake and Anne on. I don't know what it is but despite his beautiful face Jake is great in radio interviews. Some of my very favourites have been on the radio.

Hi WDW!! I'm finally back from my holiday travels and have spent most of today catching up on your posts. It's quite a bit to absorb and I've had such fun getting up to speed. The recap was great, all the new interviews are lovely, and I'm really looking forward to lots and lots of Jake in 2011 - one way or another. Even when there is no new Gyllenmovie on the horizon, I know we can count on you to keep us informed and entertained. It sounds like LAOD will be quite a big hit in the U.K., as we knew it would be.

Happy belated birthday, too, and thanks so much for all of your hard work.

Good Morning!
@WDW - "Jake is great in radio interviews. Some of my very favourites have been on the radio."

I absolutely agree. I like his radio interviews very much. For me is something in his voice. It's so warm and soothing, but not boring at all. I could listen to him even if I wouldn't understand anything. He will be great as a father reading tales to his children. Or he could read them, to me. I like fairy tales :)
I like that radio interview it's quite funny.
"LAOD - a love story attached to Anne's boobs" - hahaha.

Jake on the train - I like that picture. He looks so normal there, like any other guy, not like a movie star. It so sweet of him to give people the chance and opportunity to meet him in person :). He wants just lead normal life. Happily to us.
Have a nice day every one.

Jake + Anne on the clip - great as always - thank you WDW.

Good to see you, Susan! Hope you had a good time. I've missed you! Glad to hear you're enjoying the catchup. And I'm delighted to say that LAOD is doing really well in Blightly, coming in at no. 3, which is really good going!

Morning Mermon! I could quite happily enjoy Jake reading to me too - that would be sooo wonderful. I love the mix of ordinary Jake and movie star Jake, he does it really well, and it is good for him and for us :D

Have a good day everyone!
