Tonight, our investigation and celebration of Jake Gyllenhaal's journey reaches an interlude. It will continue tomorrow but something important happened last night - one of those landmark events if you happen to be a lover of a) good movies and b) good movies with Jake in them. Duncan Jones has been tweeting today that he has at last crossed the 'i's and dotted the 't's of Source Code. It is done and now he must release it upon us.
One of the many things that I like and appreciated about Duncan Jones is his exuberance and passion for film making. For making films that he wants to watch. And this spirit is evident throughout his excited tweeting today. 'Finished Source Code last night! On wY to watch it through now with producers! Review after' and his response to if he was happy: 'Very happy'.
There were also some mention of Jake: 'Was pitched by Jake saying, I want you to direct my next film, and me thinking he was a talented bloke' and 'Jake is going to win you over in this. I mean it.' It's a rare treat to get a glimpse inside the director's head of one of Jake's films and thanks to Duncan we can get a sense of the joy of completion. Roll on April!
Meanwhile, Jake has been out exercising his biceps and thighs. I would like to thank most formally the creator of the sleeveless running top. Thank you so much for what you have done for us. And different shoes. I miss Jake's Nike Thing but I can forgive much in return for those biceps. Pictures are scattered through this post.
And with thanks to Susan, here is Jake (and many other desirables) inside the TV Guide as they look ahead to the Globes red carpet. I love that Jake takes centre stage.
The journey continues tomorrow. Thanks to IHJ and Susan for the pictures.
My review of Blue Valentine is now up at MovieBrit.

he looks good all out and running. Actually that photo is not on the cover of the TV guide it is inside on page 19 I was going to scan it for you but I am glad someone beat me to the punch :D
I liked how they put him front row center and if you look you can see Anne is on his left and right behind him is Natalie, his two fave ladies in film (and friends in RL)
I love how Duncan tweets so us fans can find out what is going on in his head. Can't wait to see SC
Sweetpea
Hi Sweetpea - I've amended the post. It was great of Susan to send it to me - I love it! There are a bunch of interesting people in that crowd and great to see Jake at the front.
Hello! You can read my review of Blue Valentine over at MB :)
The beard might be growing back but he looks as ravishing as ever! I can't wait for The Golden Globes!
First, thank you so much indeed for the transcript, news, photos, reviews... always something new, hope he started to get ready for a new proyect, new movie.
Came the day, tonight go to see LAOD
Hi Georgie! He looks wonderful :) It'll be interesting to see if the beard stays or goes for the Globes.
My pleasure Karmentxu! I'm so glad LAOD has reached you - enjoy it and let us know what you think!
Working on Part 2 of yesterday's post :)
Looking forward to the next part of the in terview! :-)
It sounds as if Jake is an active mover in his career as well as his exercise regime. I have no doubt we'll be seeing him direct before long, but I hope he'll keep himself onscreen as a character in his movies.
lmao that's some horrible photoshop on the Glee girl.
Nice to see they put Jake in front. I really think he'll win his award... hopefully.
Hi Paul! I've just put part 2 up :) Fascinating. And yes, if Jake directs, I hope he directs himself on the big screen.
Hi Shelly - indeed, I have everything crossed! But so good that Jake and Anne were nominated :)
