[Updated] Watch the Oscars red carpet on WDW, a Love and Other Drugs DVD extra and a PoP photoshoot

Update!

Jake and Michelle Williams (source):

The post

The Oscars are looming. They're really looming. I'm not able to watch them myself due to a variety of facts - a) they're not on TV; b) LA has worse weather than England at the moment; c) some of us have got to go to work in the morning (when they're pretty much still on, UK time) and d) they're not on TV. Nevertheless, you can watch the red carpet streaming live here and hopefully you'll spot Jake Gyllenhaal in less time than it takes to say 'Is Jake wearing Ford?'

I'd like to ask for a moment's pause and solemnity here so that I can make offerings to the Oscar Gods and entreat them to see that justice is done - let me behold David Fincher with an Oscar! Let Michelle Williams win an Oscar! And may I never hear these three words again after tonight: 'The King's Speech'.

You can see a video of Jake talk about his Oscar memories on the AP livestream site. Thanks to La Brulee! You'll have to search for the link on the page - it's below the playing video - but it's there.

While Jake makes himself ship shape and Bristol fashion - and recovers from all those night before parties the night before - there is time to enjoy some new pictures from IHJ from a Prince of Persia photoshoot in London last spring. I must apologise to everyone for the wallpaper and decor in these images. Please believe that this is not entirely representative of English interior design.

IHJ also has some more pictures from Jake's haircut outing on Friday. I rather liked this one.

Love and Other Drugs out on DVD 1 March

Love and Other Drugs is out on DVD and Blu-ray on 1 March in the US. You can take a look at one of the extra features here.

And finally...

Thanks to Karmentxu for the heads up to this new Source Code still!

Break a leg, James and Anne!

Many thanks to IHJ for the new pics!

Hey WDW and everybody! The countdown for the Oscars has started ... It's going to be a LOOONG night and tomorrow I have to work but I don't care, I will stay up to see the whole ceremony and my boss will have to deal with my HUGE dark circles and my lack of sleep! :)

I'm very excited with some of the presenters -ahem- the hosts and nominees so can't wait!

I was checking here and there, looking for some news on the rehearsals and I found this little video. Not sure if you have already seen it, but I found it kinda cute, especially when he talks about the poison ivy incident ...

I can't find a shortcut/URL to copy and past directly -sorry about that- but if you check livestream site and click on the Oscars banner (on the top) where it says Academy Awards Live Red Carpet Coverage, you have to scroll to the right on the selection of Previous Clips and Jake Gyllenhaal's Oscars Memories will appear! Ta daaaa!

Thanks so much for the updates and for the LOVELY pictures with that wallpaper à la Laura Ashley ... priceless! :)

See you tomorrow!

That's a great link, thanks La Brulee! Enjoyed that and I've added it to the post. I would see it if it were on TV here - enjoy the long night!

Hi 20:11 - I really liked King's Speech (my review's on MB) but I don't think it was the best film of the year by a long shot and I'm tired of it winning everything! It's a very idealised view of English history - adapted for audiences.

Hi MK - in that case, I wouldn't see it. I loved Social Network - a supersharp script and acted and directed superbly.

I'm so excited about that night, but more about Jake presenting twice, and Anne and James hosting than the awards themselves.
New still from SC - nice, Jake looking good. The same with the pics from POP, it was a good time then.
Jake's Oscars' memories - charming, especially poison ivy story:)
Have a good long Oscars' night and please share and comment here - who's going to watch it, so we could find out in the morning, how it was.

I'll be watching the pre-show stuff on TV but will be sure to check here too WDW - thank you! I wish everyone could watch all this stuff on TV - it really is fun stuff. Well, there is always the internet tomorrow, right?!

Thanks so much, WDW and La Brulee, for the wonderful 'Oscars Memories' video clip.

"I don't really remember much except being and celebrating with the people that I made, ya know at that time, Brokeback Mountain with and that was unforgettable."

*heavy sigh*

I don't think I have much more to say at the moment...

Hi Mermon! I hope we hear about Jake too - hopefully we'll get a full report to wake up too :)

Hey BBMISwear :-) I hope so - I always just hope these moments make the net the day after but I do miss watching it live. That's a wonderful thing Jake said :)

Thanks, WDW, It looks like those mannequins were checking Jake out, who can blame them?

I am looking forward to seeing Jake present.

i'm in the uk too, i know you can watch the red carpet on livestream/ap, but does anyone have a link to a site for the actual ceremony?

mermon said...

Roger Moore from Orlando Sentinel has some nice words about Jake.
Few nice words about Jake in SC

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Anon - unfortunately Sky owns the rights to the ceremony in the Uk so all we get is the red carpet.

Hi Mermon! I saw that - very nice :)

I watched the whole E! show and never saw Jake :(

I tried to find Jake all evening in the audience, I don't know where he was hiding. At least I am glad to see the pic of him and Michelle.

I saw him present, it was too short. I hope that next year he'll be a nominee

i dont think jake walked the red carpet which i didnt think he would since he wasnt nominated for anything but he looked gorgeous up there with amy i didnt see him in the audience either so dont know if he sat in the audience or not or if they just didnt show him i read a tweet on gyllenbabble that hilary told jake that he was sitting next to her

i also saw my first tv commerical for SC

mermon said...

Hi!
And as I read there too, the viewers didn't like too much James Franco performance, Anne was OK.
So we had live stream!. Oh, I went to bed, woke up and saw last minutes of it! :)
"127 hours" didn't win anything?
Explain me - "King's Speech" had a right to be in all those categories, if it's foreign film?
Congratulation Natalie! "True Grit" - bad luck.
