One of the highlights of the publicity for Brothers, for me at least, was the Unscripted chat between Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire for Moviefone. One of the best things about it was that the questions came from fans. And now, thanks to Source Code, we will now get another Unscripted with Jake and his co-star Michelle Monaghan. It will be recorded on March 12 in Austin at the SXSW Festival and you have until then to submit your questions. The video itself will be available on 28 March. As a reminder of the treat in store, here are the clips of the Brothers Unscripted. Please note how I'm not mentioning merkins...
Thanks to the delectable MMM for the heads up.
Hill attacker
It's always great to see Jake on the cover of a magazine and that's just where he is for the April issue of Men's Journal. Not only do we hear he's styled by Molly R Stern - who seems to know exactly the right kind of clothes to put Jake in - we also hear he's the 'Barefoot running, hill attacking, fittest guy in Hollywood'. No arguments there although I'm glad to say that Nike has been making a comeback to Jake's feet of late. But before showing the cover, I think I want to look some more at the other image - Biker Jake. Can you hear that thumping? That is my heart.
Thanks to Laura for the heads up.
Pancake Jake
It's hard to Adam and Eve it, but Pancake Day has come round again. Admittedly, over the last year, Jake's pancake making credentials have been tarnished somewhat by his Oscar Pancakes that failed to reach his niece's high standards. 'They were the worst pancakes I ever made. It was weird', Jake said at the time. Jake didn't seem to get on too well with the things in Brothers either. However, wanting to mark the day but not having a photo of Jake wrecking pancakes for the occasion, I thought I'd post this entirely irrelevant picture instead.
And finally...
ManMadeMovies has another art poster for Source Code on its site today, this time by Daniel Norris. I suggest you head over there and check it out.
Updated to add that you can take a look at a new TV spot for Source Code here.
Time to conjure up some batter!

Hi everyone - the original Unscripted clip didn't work so uploaded another couple :)
Hi!
First of all - the newest poster, with a disintegrating DNA, imitating a ladder and a guy falling down with a gun - is the best one. Makes me feel curious - what's it all about, especially DNA awakes curiosity. I like orange colour, actually everything is fine. It's so good, that I even don't mind a lack of Jake in it.
Unscripted "Brothers" interview - great, one of my favourite. I can't wait Source Code one.
And finally - Men's Journal' pictures of Jake are just beautiful. Both of them. They are different, but great. I like Jake's hairy forearms a lot and of course his hands :).
Hi WDW. Great clips, wonderful photos, excellent marking of Pancake Day.
Mermon, you and I are on completely opposite ends of the poster spectrum now! :)
The latest poster on MMM is the worst one yet for me. A DNA ladder? Does this suggest that when all is said and done in Source Code, someone's identity will have been completely scrambled? A silhouetted figure falling toward a city skyline with a gun in his hand implies to me that he is totally NOT in control of anything going on. I prefer the blue tones to the orange, too...
Right now the only question that comes to mind is "What's up with all the weird posters?" and that probably isn't appropriate for the Unscripted questions.
Susan
@Susan - "A silhouetted figure falling toward a city skyline with a gun in his hand implies to me that he is totally NOT in control of anything going on" - I suppose that for the first part of the movie Jake feels exactly that way - like he's not in control of anything going on, later on he takes charge like you beautifully described it on forum :)
For me that poster is intriguing, amusing and in the same time - old fashioned like from old movies ("Saint" series with Roger Moore for example).
I hope that those unscripted SC moviefone won't reveal too much of movie mystery. It's not easy to ask questions about movie we didn't see yet and we don't want to know too much about before watching.
In that Brothers' interview Jake looks great. Completely different hairdo than in the movie.
Hi Mermon - I do like these art posters. I suppose the thing with the Unscripted video and all of these things is that you have to weigh up how much things can be spoiled. There's a good chance that much of the Unscripted video could be entirely irrelevant!
Hey Susan! I'm not so sure about the DNA but I do like the colours. I'm really pleased, though, that this film has inspired people to produce art in its name :) I like this Moon-ish buzz.
Updated the post with a new SC TV spot :)
I visited that "submit your questions" site and there are quite many good questions already. I somehow can't invent anything interesting. Maybe it to late for me. I ;ll try tomorrow:).
I've been waiting for your reaction to the "Biker Jake" photo - hee hee!! Isn't it gorgeous?! I think the cover photo is too and I thank Men's Journal for their great taste!!
I remember loving those moviefone Brothers interviews and I look forward to another one for SC - yay!!
Duncan is doing a lot of advance screenings leading up to the April 1st release - it kind of made me laugh because it seems the actors will do the TV shows and Duncan will do what he probably enjoys more than TV interviews - Q&As at movie screenings!!
So much great stuff going on - just the way we like it. Thanks for all the great updates WDW!!!
:-)

That is a FAB piece of news about a new Unscripted video. Thanks WDW and thanks Moviefone! :) I have watched those Brothers vids I don't know how many times... a lot. Still can't help but have a big smile on my face when I watch them. :)
Biker Jake and Cover Jake are simply irresistable... Excuse me while I faint. *thud*
I kinda like the new poster but the strokes of the DNA ladder make me think this is an Asian/Asia-related film instead of sci-fi. Plus, I miss Jake's gorgeous face. ;-)
I like that poster made by Daniel Norris.
The poster from yesterday, looks like a dvd menu!
I loved the unscripted piece. I can't wait to see the one for Source Code. I wish they'd done one for LAOD.
I couldn't find a copy of Men's Journal in the store I was in today. I'll have to look around
sweetpea
Morning everyone! Good to see you all - I hope any pancake making last night was successful...
There are a lot of screenings with Q&As etc lined up for the US - unfortunately, as far as I'm away, no events at all are planned for outside the US - not a sausage.
Have a good day everyone!
I'm confused by all these Source Code posters. But I'm very clear about the Men's Journal photographs. They're gorgeous.
HAHAHA! I totally agree Ruby, Source Code posters are confusing but Jake's charms have one language everywhere!
The Unscripted interviews are amazing, I caught myself smiling like an idiot while watching these three playful puppies!
I will squeeze my brains to see if I can submit a question :)
Carlota
Hey Rubes! They are indeed - and a lot less complicated than a poster glut. Good to see you x
Hi Carlota - so glad you came back :D It isn't at all easy thinking of a question, I've submitted so many over the years I'm running out! But I'll have a think :)
I've got an idea: a book of Jake faces split with top and bottom face pics. Hair in all different lengths and styles, and facial hair from abominal to none. That way, we can mix and match our favorite Jake look...kind of how ceiling fans used to come!
Morning Gyllenhaalisgr8! Blimey, what an Easter Bunny!
