Jake Gyllenhaal digs out his Jarhead hoodies and Prince of Persia on the box

Just as well Jake hung on to those hoodies... In a reminder of those Jarhead filming days, Jake Gyllenhaal visited a restaurant with a friend yesterday - the Tavern in Brentwood, LA - with his new shiny head double-protected from eyes and sunrays thanks to a P for Pittsburgh Pirates hat and a hood. He also brought a wide smile along for good measure not to mention something in his pouch. I don't know what the mystery object is but I do know it's not a hairbrush.

Thanks to IHJ for the pictures!

Sky's PoP weekend

If you're in the UK and you have Sky TV (I qualify for only one of those unfortunately), you're in for more of a treat this Easter than just chocolate bunnies, Prince of Persia receives its TV premiere. To mark the occasion, the April edition of Sky Movies is a Hollywood heroes edition, with illustrations of the heroes on the cover, including the Prince. This issue harks back to a time when Jake didn't just have hair, he had rather a lot of it. You therefore might have difficulty recognising him after the photos from today and yesterday. Fortunately, my mum does have Sky and so she saved me a copy to scan.

St George's Day, William Shakespeare's birthday and hot! Highly unusual...

Thank God for whoever invented the hoodie. But those shoes can't last forever...can they??

Thumbs up for the hoodie! I like men in hoodies, especially The J in a hoodie. :)

The Sky scans are great, thanks WDW. Makes me want to see PoP again. Blimey, almost a year since I saw it in the cinema... and still those ever present butterflies for Dastan. *swoon*

Hi Gyllenhaalisgr8! Hopefully the hood won't be needed for too long :)

Hey Lady Ekster! Glad you liked the scans. I can hardly believe it's nearly a year ago. That May was such a fantastic, wonderful time. I will never stop loving PoP, not least for the joy of that month :)

For me it's been only a year since I've seen POP in the cinema and my life has changed for good :). That year was so full and rich in so many things because of Jake that is hard to imagine.
I will never stop loving POP, just like you, Kate.

Tis a wonderful wedding week endless bank hol! So hot!
Hoodies on Jake?! Hmm I had not considered that aspect of the shiny noggin. A summer of Jake-I-the hood I can manage, always makes me think fondly of Donnie. OK, I'm embracing the concept now. Hopefully there will be a scene or two in 'plain clothes' in the movie.

Or maybe 'no clothes'.

I'm so glad I got to get here tonight to do some catching up! It's been fun reading the many comments about "the hair" (or should I say lack of it)?! I hope you had a nice few days away, WDW - I did but once I got back it was crazy days with work and then getting ready for 15 people coming to my house for the Easter holiday tomorrow - yikes! Tonight is my calm before the storm and it's been great to be on line catching up with all the new photos!

My initial reaction about the shaved head was not a good one like many here (especially after seeing his cop partner has hair)!! BUT...I thought about it and now have a little hope. I don't know if I'm right but I hope I am with my thought process here:

1) Based on everything we heard so far this movie covers a "long-term" friendship and partnership and, typically, cops have shaved or very short hair during their time training at the police academy so MAYBE these photos and the first week or so of filming will be when these guys are young - hence the shaved head! MAYBE this will be brief and then as Jake's character ages he will grow his hair out so most of the filming and movie he has his gorgeous locks back?!

And 2) Unless there are more promo photo shoots to do covering this time period of the movie then maybe the hair will grow back (to at least SC length) over the next couple of months before filming, then be shaved for the early July start of filming and then grow in again for the duration of the filming?!

Maybe?!

Okay...so I'm over analyzing a bit...LOL! But I needed something to distract me from all the Easter holiday prep and the fact that the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadians are in sudden death overtime at the moment and it's hard to watch (I don't expect the European WDWers to get that hockey comment)!

Anyway...I *might* be right and we *might* be okay! (Now I'm really laughing at myself for this deep hair analysis comment)!

Time will tell I guess. Happy Easter to those who celebrate and happy weekend to those who don't!

Until next time...

:-)

@BBMISwear - I like your idea of hair growing during the movie. It sounds very reasonable. In that way we will have different Jakes with different hairdos. Now it looks strange because is suddenly and it's a difference between the colour on the face and on the top of his head. But when he will catch some sun, will be OK. I liked him in Jarhead, so I will for sure like him bald again for some period of time.
I'm so glad they took those pictures. They gave us something to discuss and to wait for :).

Good weather in my city is over. Today - much cooler and rain since the morning.
Have a good Sunday!

Morning Mermon!

I do hope the weather lasts, TD :D I think I'll most certainly enjoy the out of uniform scenes the most :) I'm really not crazy about the uniform or the hair - but the eyes are good :D

Hi Sweetpea - ew, a full beard and no hair! That would not be a good look on Jake!

Good to see you back, BBMISwear :-) OMG that is quite an easter you have in store. Very busy. Just me here today so very quite. Just me and an array of chocolate eggs. I like that idea of the hair growing. Personally, I'm not so hopeful so I'm hoping to be proved wrong!

Have a good Easter Sunday all those who celebrate it and for the rest of us happy eating :D

WDW's 4th birthday! Congratulations!
Thank you for creating such a great place for all of us, Kate. For all that fun we have here. Keep going! Hopefully we have many years to cherish together over Jake.
Thank you all for being such a fine Jake's fans gang.

Thanks so much, Mermon! Time has flown by. And yes, here's to the next four years!
