WDW four years old today! Jake Gyllenhaal celebrates with Mumford and Sons

It's time for a street party! Wet Dark and Wild turns four years old today. Pretty much house trained and not too badly behaved when dragged around to the in-laws. And so, while I wait for Jake Gyllenhaal to come round with trifle and cake in one hand (he does have big hands) and a magnum of bubbly in the other, festooned in bunting, it's time for a quick recap of what Jake has been up to this weekend. Mostly, he's been sorting out hats - and hanging out with this chap.

On Friday, Jake attended the Railroad Revival Tour show in San Pedro, which is in LA and not in Spain as I initially thought. It did include Mumford and Sons and so I wouldn't have been at all surprised if it had been Spain because Jake is, after all, their number one famous fan. The band also gives Jake the chance to holler at someone else for a change instead of being hollered at. Jake also grabbed the opportunity to hide his shiny noggin with another hand and distort his face through multiple funny expressions. Photos abound from fans at the event as well as tweets of sightings of Jake at the show and before it, engaged in one of his favourite activities, buying coffee. This fun picture is from Bobushnell and features Jake and director Emmett Malloy. There are some other wonderful pictures there of the event from backstage.

I recommend that you take a look at the Flickr account of blueveins333 for a whole array of pictures of Jake behind the scenes. There is another one here (hood and a cap combined).

A couple of catch-up videos. This first one, although not all of us may be able to understand the words, shows Jake looking, in my eyes, his most lovely. I'm also partial to a bit of knitwear.

This second video has the dubious honour of being just about the worst interview I have ever seen and I give full credit to Jake and Michelle Monaghan for getting through it!

There are also some great new Source Code stills. I particularly like the second. I love Jake set against bright blue sky.

Includes pictures from IHJ.

And finally...

A big heartfelt thank you to readers old and new who have made the journey over the last four years such a pleasure and a special thanks to Jake for being my inspiration. Here's to the years to come, for all of us! How time flies!

Thank you Carlota!

Thanks so much Lady Ekster. That's so lovely - and it's so fun for me too. And I'm so grateful to everyone for reading and being such a vital part of the blog!

Happy birthday to Wet, Dark and Wild and many, many more to come. In this comparatively short time you have expansively brought us bang up to date on Jake's 20 years in the business. There isn't one of hIs films we haven't discussed or tried to get information on. And you run this blog with such grace, slight irreverance and total respect for Jake and his privacy that is to be admired.

Its entertaining, healing, educational and total escapism when you need it. Yes, we've had some unbelievable experiences through here and I hope for many more delightful, unexpected ones.

So its with grateful thanks to you Kate that we celebrate these 4 years and we best start planning for the 5th anniversary eh!

Happy 4th birthday to WDW:) Time has just flown by.

You do an amazing job running this blog for all us Jake fans Kate. Many thanks for making this a fun place to visit and putting a smile on my face.

Looking forward to the next four years and beyond:)

Congratulations once again! 4 years around one guy? He must be worth that. Definitely. Thank you, Kate for doing it in such a special way.
In about one month, at the end of May will be my first anniversary of becoming Gyllenhaalic, after POP, of course :).

Mumford and Sons seems to be very good band, completely unknown in my country. I also thought that San Pedro is somewhere far like Mexico or something. Thank you for clearing this up for us. Looks like Jake had great time with friends.

Those two videos - on first one - Jake really looks his best and second one - was not so bad, quite funny for me.

Thank you Sheba! And thank you for sticking with me from the beginning! I think you're right, we've discussed all the films over the years and the things we've learned. And thank you, Sheba, for being there and 'getting' me. I'm so glad we've met too! And all the best to you xx

Thank you so so much, Carol! It's been so good to get to know you a little over the years. It's been an incredible time xx

Thank Mermon! I'm glad you found us. That was an incredible time last May. A lot of new fans came and went - I'm so glad you stayed! (I'm glad it wasn't just me about San Pedro... ;D)

It's a bit irrelevant but I've done a review of Monsters at MB tonight. I like to be busy :)

Happy birthday, WDW!! Like everyone else, hope to have you around for many many more years. Whatever we can do to help, just let us know. And congrats again! :-D

To Gyllenhaalisgr8... the first pic in this post is from last year. I'd say, June 4th 2010... Some dates I remember better than others. ;-)

looks like someone passed along Jake's college yearbook pic

That man must have some anti-aging genes, he hasn't aged that much since this pic was taken

Hi Kate! Happy belated 4th anniversary! Please add my heartfelt thanks and job well done to all the others posted here. It hasn't been quite a year since I stumbled upon WDW, and now I can't imagine what life would be like without it! Your blog feels like an amazing community of old friends gathering to share one very special common interest, and we owe it all to you.

So thanks for all the updates, pics, interludes, news flashes, vids, quips, and delightful commentary. Please keep it going for many, many more years!

I think dubbing should be illegal, anything that covers up Jake's voice in any way (like how they had an interpreter talk OVER Jake's voice) should be punishable by having their mouths taped shut and having to have Jake talk to them non-stop :D

I wish I could have heard what Jake and Duncan said. I have a feeling that these two will work together again. or who knows maybe hang out together, I got this vibe that they became friends and they might get together to hang out.

Hi sweetpea! I think it's a shame really these yearbook pics get bandied about. I agree about the dubbing.

Thank you so much Carlotta! I'm so glad you like it and thanks for saying hello :) What a beautiful place you live in!

Thank you Susan! Is it really less than a year? Well, I'm so pleased you found WDW. And I'll do that :)

HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY WDW AND MANY MORE!! Wow...4 years, huh?! Amazing! And thank you thank you thank you for all the wonderful posts over the years - always so informative and entertaining - simply the BEST!!

Thanks for the links to the Mumford and Sons show - looks like a blast. I saw sightings for another show too, as you mentioned, so maybe we'll get to see pictures from that one too.

Oh I hope my *possible* hair growth theory is right and I can prove you wrong like you want to be WDW - ha ha! I can only hope that if this film does cover a good amount of time then that won't be his haircut throughout - who keeps their hair the same for that long? Especially a young hot cop! *still hoping*

Well I survived my huge Easter holiday - barely! Now catching up on everything else - never a dull moment. See you next time!

:-)

What a great great day...
Ah..since this is a birthday, then we should make wishes... I wish that wetdarkandwild.com will be more spread out to the world and all Jake's fan out there, and I wish WDW will be and it IS going better and better everyday and here will always be the number one place where us, Jake's fans, could gather and share. Live Long WDW!!!
Thank you so much for continuing bringing us all the Gyllengoodies and this amazing friendship...:)
And always thank you for the posts WDW!!!
(you're absolutely right about the second vid, totally annoying... But I love the pics:D)

I just watched that interview. I am so sorry for Jake, Michelle and Vera to have had to endure that guy. That was aweful! They should let WDW do the interview if that's the best guy the have to the job!

Thanks so much, Sasha!

OMG that was an awful interview Mrs JG! We'd have done a better job I think :)
