Jake Gyllenhaal unleashes his lethal weapon for gritty LA police drama End of Watch

When you're filming a gritty LA cop drama there's only so much fun to be had from waving a camera at burnt out cars. Yesterday (2 August), Jake Gyllenhaal took gritty police drams to a whole new level by swapping the camera for a gun. Admittedly not as big as the gun Michael Pena had modelled in initial images for the film but, nevertheless, a bit more deadly than a camera. And then there's the car that goes with it...

Pictures from IHJ and many congratulations to IHeartJake for its wonderful new look. I know it wasn't easy but I think the results are tremendous!

I saw the new look on IHJ earlier today and LOVE it! That really is a lot of work and they are to be congratulated.

Jake in a police uniform with a gun looks a bit more natural than Jake in a police uniform with a camera... but I guess you can "shoot" with either one.

Thanks for the photos, Kate. Keep us informed on the EOW action. My opinion on how it might play out on screen changes on a daily basis, so it's fun to see glimpses of how it's going.

Hi Susan! I think they've done a great job. I've been following it as they change and they should be proud :)

ooh, I like the 'shoot' comment! And it's a pleasure :)

Thank you for fresh pictures and new post, Kate.
We may feel so spoiled with that movie, cause so much police action takes place on the streets, so we may have a close look. So far - two days of shooting and two set of pictures:)
I was thinking lately about policemen-partners. Usually is a bad cop and a good cop. What do you think? I think Michael will be the bad one, cause he's constantly so serious.

My pleasure, Mermon! It's interesting to think about the bad cop good cop thing here. I tend to think it'll be more complicated than that. It'll be so interesting to see. But I do kind of think Jake could be the bad cop!

A quick hello during a very busy week but, man, all these "police officer" photos are certainly helping my attitude as I trudge along through the week from hell! It sounds like everyone else is enjoying them too!!

Hope to get back again soon... :-)

Nice post, Kate, thanks so much. I enjoy Jake as a cop, no matter what he shoots with.

The new IHJ layout is so fresh, great job.

Mermon, interesting question. I'd like to see Jake play the bad cop for once. I know he has it in him.

BBMISwear, I hope your week is over soon and you get spoiled this weekend!

Hi WDW...
Jake as a bad police would be very interesting to wait for, don't really know how this EOW will turn out, I rarely watch cop movie... But of course I look forward to anything that has to do with Jake, and since Jake choose it, it may have something special in it.. And I like Jake in the police car :)
The IHJ new layout is refreshing, love the big pic of Jake attempt to shave with the big scissors...
And finally, finally I have watch SOURCE CODE yesterday (so very very late and not even in the movie theatre, it didn't make it to my city) and it is really fantastic, it's so tense, touching, funny, emotional, surprising, and it has so many highlights, so many elements in a scifi movie, I think SC is a very unique special movie... I just complicatedly love it, haha, I love all the cast, I think SC is Jake's best movie to date, Jake was fantastic as Captain Colter, Michelle was great, and I love Vera Farmiga.. There is so much to say about how fantastic SC is, I could go on and on, which if I do I'm afraid would be so very long or maybe I would never finish this comment (see, it's long already)
In SC, Jake has the most amazing, funny, attractive expressions I've ever seen... And he stare/glare a lot there, it was so funny :D
Have not been here for so long, miss you guys...:D Thanks for the always wonderful posts WDW!!!

Good to see you, Serene! I'm so glad you got to see SC at last and that you lied it so much, although I'm not surprised :)
