Big and special thanks go to Susan because the below video is a treat from her to me and it has 'must be shared' written all over it. How good does Jake look as a pioneer! Historical drama next, surely?
PS No turkeys were hurt during the making of this post.
My review of My Week with Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams, is now up at MovieBrit.

Happy Thanksgiving to Jake and all who are celebrating this weekend:)
Happy Thanksgiving!
To all who celebrates and to Jake and his family, who celebrate for sure. Enjoy your turkeys!
By the way, my parents used to breed turkeys some time ago. One was very house protective, didn't want to let his landlords to come home. I was afraid of him, as Jake was afraid of ostriches. LOL.
Pioneering Jake is very funny! Thank you Susan for creating it.
Hi Carol! Maybe we should break out the chocolates and cocktails anyway...
Hi Mermon! No!!! No-one must eat a turkey! I'm not keen on them as they're bad-tempered beasties but I do think a nut roast is much tastier :D The video is so funny, I cried with laughter!
Sorry, Kate! I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I like meat. And vegetables too! :)Though nut roast sounds delicious. Maybe you could give us a recipe on forum. Could be worth to make.
Hi Mermon! No feelings hurt but I do like to encourage people not to eat turkey during these holidays. I'm afraid I have no recipe as I like the supermarket to make it and Mr WDW to cook it for me :D
Oh no. I can't see the video either on my work PC, nor at home nor on my smartphone. That's something I am NOT thankful for.
Jake in a period movie - love the idea.
Enjoy your turkey (or nut roast) everyone!
Kate! Very smart girl you are! LOL.
I got your point about turkeys. I'm sure it's much more killed than needed and probably bred much faster, to get them on time, than usually. So very unnatural and not pleasant at all.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating!
Very funny video, very creative haha
It's too late to wish a Happy Thanksgiving Day? If you are not happy Thanksgiving Day !!!!!! : D
Happy Thanksgiving!
wow Pioneering Jake video is very funny and lovely! Thank you for sharing it!
To be honest, I don't know the Thanksgiving well..
and I have not eaten a turkeys.
My country doesn't have this custom. I think it like a festival of autumn, isn't it?
Anyway, It seems enjoyable! :D
Have a good friday everyone!
Morning everyone! I hope all the US celebrators had a good day yesterday and enjoy their shopping today :D
Oh, I'm sorry you can't see it, Mrs JG :( That'll be flash issues unfortunately.
Morning Mermon! It's just like that with Christmas - not keen on the mass-produced element of it all.
Hi there Monica! Good to see you :)
Morning Daniela!
Hi there Mayumintolor! Actually, I believe it's something to do with the Americans celebrating being free of Britain! So it's not something that's marked here... ;) Have a good Friday!
Oh dear, my word is 'skiver'...
Party like it's 1621, LOL!
Thanks very much Susan and thanks WDW for sharing the laughter. Magnificent. :)
Happy Thanksgiving lovelies! You all and this wonderful piece of internet is one of the things I am always thankful for. Hugs all around!
I loved the video.
Thanks
sweetpea
Hi Lady Ekster! I loved that line too - how funny! And thanks to YOU!
Hi Sweetpea! I am glad and I hope you had a good Thanksgiving yesterday :)
I saw My Week with Marilyn tonight - Michelle Williams was wonderful. My review on MovieBrit
burp....uhmmm...sorry...still dealing with the uhmm...(sorry WDW)the turkey and stuffing. Can't see the video..unsure if it dealth with Thanksgiving or not...but for those outside of the USA, Thanksgiving here innolved the Pilgrims (religious peoples from Britian)who landed at Plymouth Rock in what later would be known as Boston. They did not have enough food to survive and the indigious American Indians helped them with food and seeds and taught them how to plant in this new land. Each year they would set apart a day to pray and to have a autumn feast or harvest feast. Later in 1863 a set day (final Thursday in November) for prayer and feast was proclmated by our President Abraham Lincoln to promote unity between the North and South in regards to the Civil War. Later in 1941 it became Law and a national holiday. Other countries have Thanksgiving including Canada for other reasons and on different dates with other staple foods and traditions. Hope this gives you a little history into this Holiday!
Thank you @lillyrosesNjake for your Thanksgiving story. It's a very nice tradition, gathering family together. What was your stuffing? I like it the most from a turkey. LOL
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Kate! Fantastic review of My Week with Marilyn.
I can easily imagine how happy Colin Clark was, having a chance to spend a week with Marilyn.
I would like to have a similar chance to spend lovely (I hope) week with someone we all know very well here. :))
Thanks for asking mermon. I did the stuffing this year that I had acquired online 10 years ago from Foootvnetwork. It has white and wild rice, onions, savory, sage, pork sausage, celery, and toasted bread. I add bits of carrots and red and green bell peppers for color. I love when the stuffing gets down in the bottom of the pan with the savory droppings! I know it probably has a 1000+ calores but it has a glorious taste! My mom made a simple dressing that was toasted old bread, cornbread, onions, celery and sage. Simple but VERY GOOD. God rest her soul. Another I occassionally make has apples, raisins, pecans, walnuts, cranberries in it. Not savory enough for all so I have to see who gonna turn up each year! ;) Hoping Jake shows up on a show to see how he helped with the meal and if Olivia was there?!
Thank you @lillyrosesNjake. Sounds yummy!
In Poland we have completely different style of stuffing - with a chicken liver, green parsley and egg. It's delicious.
I'm sure Jake spent great Thanksgiving with his family. I don't know if to mention this, but one year ago he spent that holiday with TS. It seems so long time ago.
Hi Lily! Thanks for the background info - very interesting. Such a fascinating period of history - there's a different perspective of it all over here. I love the idea of a thanksgiving holiday though - we should have something like it over here. It would be good to have a day to focus the brain on what we should be thankful for, especially at this time of year, which is really rather cloudy and horrid! Thanks for telling us abloout your dinner!Sounds like our Christmas dinner here (although I have a veggie version).
Thanks Mermon! The year has flown, that's for sure :)
Have a lovely Saturday everyone!
I don't know if to mention this, but one year ago he spent that holiday with TS. It seems so long time ago.
And she'll talk about it in a song. Of course, she will be the victim and he the villain.
Monica, that´s not a song it's a nightmare! I hope she has the decency to keep her mouth shut.
Hope everyone had a good Saturday! I have been sooo lazy, rather nice actually.
