[Update] HQ Brothers trailer!

Jake Gyllenhaal on a big screen at last - I knew the day would come. And it comes with the prospect of Jake on Ice... Edited to add a different - and working - version.

Kate Bosworth on Twitter: 'Public Enemies was alright but the trailer for a film called 'Brothers' w/ Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire & Natalie Portman looks FANTASTIC!'

For the moment (and this is also updated), the Brothers film link takes you to a page being built, so keep watching.

And because I can't get enough of Brothers Jake, here are some more caps:

Happy 4 July to all those who celebrate it!

OMG! I have to watched it in mute, but I can still feel the tensions in the film! :PPP

Jake looks every bit like the black sheep brother, especially when next to Tobie! And the scenes he has with Natalie... wow.

oh.. and who's in the bathtub?? *g*

looks very promising... how about Public Enemies screen in UK? Are they going to have Brothers trailer too? I do think it will be on apple trailers soon.

great surprise! thanks WDW :)

winterbird said...

I have to watch...

Public Enemies screening...

Tobey...

damn.. I can't type or think in the morning.

I am thinking of going to watch "Bruno"... hope they will it there too! :P

Well a thank you to GyllenBabble would be in order WDW!.

Hi everybody!

Hey Winterbird! I've had to watch it with the sound off too. Looks great! I wonder if it'll be included with Public Enemies in the UK too - hmmm. I'm sure it will be widely available on the net soon whatever.

Ooh, a snarky anon :D I never expect anyone to thank me when they post my YouTube videos and I don't thank anyone for all their YouTube videos which are featured on WDW - and I feature them all the time. I'm grateful to anyone who takes the time to post a YouTube video and I am especially grateful to the kind person who took the risk to do the video. Take your tone and your orders elsewhere, anonymous (but recognised) person.

I hope everyone has a good day :D

winterbird said...

anon, blatant shameless promotion is so 1954...

Gretchen said...

lol you win WDW!(i mean your response to the (recognised?) anonymous person)

i watched it once.but i think i'll wait for the official HQ one to watch over and over again :D
(that's Natalie Portman in the bathtub winterbird)

btw i went to the Lionsgate site you gave the link to and watched the trailer for FAQ About Time Travel, looks funny.(Anna Faris is in it)

have a good day WDW.i have an exam tomorrow wish me luck :(

Carol said...

OMG a trailer at last. Counting the mins to lunch when I can have my first look at this.

This is a great start to the weekend.:)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Winterbird!

Thanks Gretchen ;D I'm looking forward to watching it with some sound. Surely the official version will be released soon... sigh. The Faris movie sounds like fun.

GOOD LUCK with the exam! And an exam on Saturday is particularly bad :(

Hi there Carol!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

OMG! Just saw the trailer with sound and it looks FANTASTIC!!

Silver said...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :) !!!!!

Finally a trailer!! It looks AWESOME.

What certificate do you think it will be given? i'm predicting a 12A maybe, or it could be a 15, it does look pretty intense :) oh and the rumours of a U2 song to be in the soundtrack were true! YAY

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Silver! I reckon it's gotta be at least a 15 in the UK. I can't wait for the soundtrack too now!

Carol said...

OMG just had my first sneaky look at the trailer. I'm going to have to examine it in way more detail when I get home but my first impressions are that it looks fantastic:)

I love the fact that U2 are involved in the soundtrack.

We have a film festival in our city every October and I think there is a strong possibility that it might get a showing there esp with the Irish connection. A lot of movies get shown there well in advance of general release. I'm hoping that will happen cause from what I've just seen I don't think I can wait til Decemeber....

TD said...

Yay the trailer!! Only another 10 times watching it on mute before I have the courage to put the sound on!
Thanks WDW!

Flower said...

This will be one amazing movie Jim Sheridan can't failed although picture is little bit foggy you can see beauty of Jake. Toby looks scary haha. To me Natalie is still kid from Leon, i don't see her quite in Mums role but she is still great actress.
Thanks Wet Dark.
Now back to work.. lot's of work these days..

Monica said...

Good morning, wet dark!
Very similar to original ... I hope they have a larger space for the character of Jake in this movie.

I hope that is a good movie. It's most important!

BertieCinema7 said...

I tried to wait - but I had to take a peek! This is wonderful, I'm feeling all conflicted now, poor Tobey, but he's scarey too. I'm wondering just who is the black sheep and who isn't now. Tommy seems to be wanting to turn over a new leaf and settle down, and it looks like the family dynamic is about to be turned around, jealousies, etc. Tobey seems to be about to explode. The girls are adorable and Isabel doesn't miss a thing, as kids tend to be. Nat is beautiful, it must be such a conflict for her, to think he was gone, and move forward, and then to find he's still alive. I like the music too. Can't wait to see -

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Nearly the weekend - phew :P

Hi carol! I think it's very possible Brothers will show in Ireland and also, I hope, at the London festival.

Hi TD!

Hey Flower :D Too much work about, for sure. I agree about Natalie - she seems too young to me too, but maybe that's part of the story? She's the one of the three I'm not so sure about. Tobey does look frightening! Jake looks, well, hot!

Morning Monica! That is most definitely the most important thing - I really do hope for - and expect - a good movie :)

Hey Bertie! That's interesting, about which is the black sheep - such a lot of emotion and everything turned upside down. I'm interested in the whole family dynamic here and I'm looking forward to seeing these emotional scenes between the brothers. I can't wait!

Anonymous said...

Wow, Brothers looks very intense, talk about drama! I'm wondering, for those of you who saw the original, does the story concentrate more on the time when Toby is missing or the time after he comes home?

I wanted to say, about the last picture of the previous post, that I feel kind of bad that Jake got his picture taken without knowing it. But God he looks good! Did he get his hair cut? It's a great shot of his hands and arm and that oh so kissable neck. I hope we get more soon. :)

Have a good day everyone!

Olympia

P.S.: LOL! My word is "matingel"! Something I bet Ennis and Jack used a lot! :D

lionsgate said...

Where is the link to this trailer?

Anonymous said...

Hey, I was just rewatching the trailer (it's so nice to see Jake on film again!) and I just noticed something. We asked for a Jake shaving scene (and the obligatory shower scene of course) and what did Sheridan give us? A Tobey shaving scene!!! Damn you, Sheridan! I think he did it on purpose. :D

Olympia

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi there Olympia! It's so good to see Jake again, I want more pics of him out and about in the summer sun. The trailer is so intense. I like :D

Hi Anon - the trailer's not out officially yet so there isn't a link to the lionsgate traielr - not yet!

That's damn unfair, Olympia, and it's Natalie in the bath and not Jake.... they'd better make up for this in Nailed and PoP!

Carol said...

Just saw the trailer in better quality on the Entertainment Tonight website.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Ooh thanks Carol! That's fabulous!! Just updated the site and I'm off to watch it again, right now!

Uli said...

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!!

Just saw this before I was about to leave Bratislava... Just watched it once - look forward to watching it again and again when I am back home!!!

Just what I needed after a really exhausting day/ week!!!

Hugs all around! Gotta run!!!

Anonymous said...

wow it's a powerful trailer. I have to wonder how many times this could have happened in RL.

Thanks WDW for sharing this
sweetpea

Flower said...

New one and better one!!
Love this..
Thank you again :))

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Isn't it great Uli! Good to see you - I hope you've finished with Bratislava for a while *)

Hi there Sweetpea :D It's so powerful.

Thanks Flower!

So good to be home for the weekend :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

PS Just added a bunch of caps of the trailer as I can't get enough. The Brothers Lionsgate webpage appears to be updating as we speak...

pia said...

Thanks WDW! Great to see this! Looks like Tobey's doing a good job, as well as Jake, with his role, and alot depends on Tobey in this story. Jake's a natural for the role -

And hoping Natalie can do "nuance" well -

I lov'd the Danish film (which you my darlin' WDW refuse to see, which I understand, but I do not have such self-control) and this looks like a good adaptation of a strong story.

Having known young men returning from Iraq with that "hundred mile stare" that doesnt go away for a year or more sometimes - and how hard it is for vets to re-enter their former lives - Im counting on Sheridan to do this well.

Anonymous said...

does anyone have more screen caps not just the ones of Jake?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Pia! So good to see you :D I know how much you enjoyed the original version, and because of that I'm looking forward to seeing it after our Jake's version :D I'm interested to see how Tobey will do here, too. Natalie's the one I'm a little worried about but I have confidence in Sheridan. Jake looks, well Jake looks amazing :) I like the colours here too. Very glad to see you *)

Hey anon - if you email me, letting me know which bits you're interested in, I'll send you some caps of them (wetdarkandwild@googlemail.com)

This tennis is... draining :/

Hey StillJerem! Jake looks amazing and Brothers is definitely on the way - AT LAST!!

Enjoy the Danish version, Nouskie - Love Jake on Skates xx

Watched the trailer again, recalled how heartbreaking is this story. Looks as if it's gonna be powerful.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

I think I must have watched this trailer 10 times at least this evening, Pia. So powerful. And as I watch it, I think Jake's continuing to make the right movie choices. This looks like a film to remember. I don't mind the wait so much when they look this good!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Good morning everyone! Another beautiful day - and I've already seen the trailer again three times... If anyone sees the trailer before Public Enemies (or any movie for that matter) in the UK do let us know - I hear that some places in the US aren't seeing the trailer with the film.

Have a good day everyone!

And a happy 4 July to all those who celebrate it!

Ruby said...

Brothers trailer looks good. Not fair that Natalie gets the touch the short, short hair. :( :D

Happy 4th July to everyone celebrating. Enjoy the fireworks (I love fireworks :D)

Anonymous said...

ARRGH this is really frustrating me! I can't understand some of the lines in the trailer due to my crap speakers..
could someone possible tell me whaat:
Jake says at 0:11
The little girl at 0:30
Jake at 0:51
Jake at 1:42
and who's on the bed at 1:13 :P

sorry :P thanks :)

get real said...

OMG..OMG!!!! Had to watch his on mute...grr, but it looks AMAZING!!!!

Can't wait to watch it with sound....squee.

Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone who celebrates in the US and have a lovely day to everyone! :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hello everyone - watching a very unexciting ladies final at Wimbledon :(

Hi Rubes! The hair is perfect in this film - I wonder how many times they did that scene and if there's more...

Hey Anon, sorry to hear you can't make it out on your speakers, some of it is a bit muffled and Jake's voice seems purposefully muffled. So this is what I came up with:

Jake says at 0:11 - 'What are you talking about?' [I think]
The little girl at 0:30 - 'Is dad really dead like your mom and dad?'
Jake at 0:51 - 'I'm starting to reassess, Snoop Dog' [Does he really say Snoop Dog or am I going crazy?]
Jake at 1:42 - 'I just want to be able to come over to see the girls'
and who's on the bed at 1:13 :P - that's Tobey and Natalie.

Hope that's a help!

Morning Get Real! I hope you have a fine 4 July :D It's amazing!! And just wait til you watch it with sound :D

I hope everyone's having a good day!

Monica said...

Good morning, wet dark!
Jake at 0:51 - 'I'm starting to reassess, Snoop Dog' [Does he really say Snoop Dog or am I going crazy?]

He said Snoop Dog!

Snoop Dog and first song that plays in this trailer should go to a crusher!

Happy Independence Day!

Gretchen said...

lol i heard Snoop Dog/Dawg too.but i thought my English was failing me.i'm relieved you heard the same.whew. =P

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Monica! Thanks for confirming that :D A classic line...

Does anybody know who's singing that first song and what it is?

Hi Gretchen! I'm happy too - thought I was going crazy there... I'll have to try and work Snoop Dog into my conversation more regularly :D

Wet Dark and Wild said...

To answer my own question, someone's posted on the YouTube video that it's The Fray and Never Say Never. Can't work out if I like it or not.

Monica said...

The Fray?? Argh!

Wet dark, you watched the Danish version?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Heehee, Monica! Not a Fray fan, I take it :D I'm stubbornly refusing to watch the original as I want to see this version fresh and uninfluenced. Afterwards, I'll take a look.

Monica said...

You are correct.
I should have done the same!

BertieCinema7 said...

Me too, WDW! I've watched this trailer now many, many times, and everyone is just so good in it - Jake, Tobey and Nat are outrageously good.

Happy 4th! :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

I hope it hasn't spoilt it for you too much, Monica. I know a lot of people have been very pleased to see the original version first.

They really are, Bertie! I hope you're having a great 4th :D

Flower said...

Hi everyone :))
Happy 4th July..
I wonder if Jakey would prepare turkey for meal ;)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Flower! Jake can cook me a Veggie Turkey anytime :D I'd like to see what he'd come up with :)

Flower said...

Wet Dark :D
Kirsten said that he is great cook..
Let's hope that it would be one great meal and not burn one. :))
Go Jakey Go..

Nice day to everyone!!

Anonymous said...

Thanks so much! :)
haha - snoopdog
Tobey does look amazing in the trailer at i have to admit :)

Anonymous said...

The food for the 4th of July are hotdogs and hamburgers. It's a very informal Holiday - going to Parks and there being entertainment and lots of, yes, hotdogs and hamburgers and then Fireworks.
Or staying home and having a barbeque with .. hotdogs and hamburger.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Flower - I bet it'd be a great spread :D

My pleasure 22:39! I do agree about Tobey - he looks great - much more than I expected.

It sounds like a great holiday, 22:45! I was in the US for it once and I remember the fireworks. And, although a Brit, I was made very welcome :D You're making me peckish! I need (veggie) hodogs and (veggie) hamburgers :D We could do with some fun holidays like that. I suppose May Day is the only one we actually 'celebrate' but not to such a degree.

BertieCinema7 said...

Just saw Public Enemies, no Brothers trailer :(, but the trailer for Shutter Island looks great! Ohhhh you will love Public Enemies; Johnny just smolders as John Dillinger, so smoky-sexy, and I loved Marion Cottillard and Christian Bale. A beautiful, romantic substory, the cinematography is beautiful, and the soundtrack was amazing, and lots of action and beautiful period detail. There's even something that reminded me of a scene from Batman, but from the 30s. I enjoyed it immensely, and I think I fell in love with JD all over again. So sad when he's dancing with Billie, a jazz singer is singing The Man I Love, and John Dillinger just isn't that kind of man. *sigh* He's gorgeous in this, Christian too, and Christian is so amazing in that he just becomes his characters and disappears into his roles. :)

Monica said...

I hope it hasn't spoilt it for you too much, Monica.

Very spoilers.

Anonymous said...

i just saw public enemies this evening and they showed the brothers trailer!!!looks even better on the bog screen did show a few extra scenes but otherwise the trailer is the same as we have seen cant wait to see it in dec all 3 look great and public enemies was pretty good also

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Good morning everyone :D I hope everybody on the other side of the pond celebrating had a great evening!

Morning Bertie :D That's a shame about the trailer. It's all so hit and miss but it sounds like you had a lovely evening - I'm glad yu enjoyed Public Enemies. There were lots of trailers for it on TV last night here.

Morning Monica :D

Hi Anon! I'm glad you got to see the trailer. It does look so powerful.

Has anyone seen the trailer in the UK this weekend?

Have a great Sunday everyone :)

Uli said...

Hi everyone!! I like the trailer a lot - and I like the The Fray song a lot... :)

Jake is so cute at 00:47... :)

Some of Jake's expressions/ moves in the trailer remind me of some of the scenes in Jarhead - or other movies? I can't decide - at least they look a bit familiar. It's weird and interesting...

I still can't believe how long its been since we last saw something new of him on the big screen. It's soooooo good to have this to look forward to - if only it wasn't so long till it gets released.
I am glad we finally have a trailer...

Have a good Sunday y'all!

BertieCinema7 said...

Hi WDW, we really did, I was surprised by how much I loved Public Enemies. I forgot to mention the costumes, so sumptuous, beautiful men's suits, trousers, waistcoats, fedoras, timepieces, rings and Scotch-on the-rocks, very masculine. The voices and accents were great. I could see Christian and Johnny working together on a Batman sequel, I really could. And some of the cinematograpy of rural Indiana farmlands was hauntingly beautiful. If my post about it is too spoilerish, please delete.

It was disappointing not to be able to see the Brothers trailer on the big screen, but at least I got to see it online, and I'm very impressed. :)
