Playing catch up - and falling for Atticus

After all the excitement of new PoP images of Jake Gyllenhaal wet and in a hurry, time to take a brief pause and catch up. Jake is in Philadelphia while Reese films and both have been enjoying the city's dining establishments. Last night they were at Alma de Cuba, a restaurant with a formidably delicious menu, and someone snuck a photo. Not the best shot but it's a picture...

Edited to add: 'The couple both sipped a black cherry caipirinha, the national cocktail of Brazil, then Gyllenhaal switched to Red Stripe beer and the couple dined on a ceviche sampler, King crab salad, empanadas and a corn side dish.'

Before Jake left for Philadelphia, he was seen in LA spending some time with Atticus and today a lucky blogger posted an account of their encounter with Jake and the floppy-eared one. 'I looked at the docile eyes in this dog and ‘fell for him’ instantly. I got the dogs’ attention and he leaped up a bit to come near me. The owner said, “Atticus!” It was his way of having the shepherd obey and ‘stay put’. I still managed to pet him a little.'

'I whispered to Alan, “How cool. He named it Atticus. I bet he named it after the Gregory Peck character in ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, one of my favorite movies.” It was our turn to order our coffee when I looked to the side and recognized the dog owner. He was with a tall, chubby blond guy but the owner had a white ski cap and sunglasses. It was obvious to me that he was slightly disguised but he was none other than actor Jake Gyllenhaal.'

Meanwhile preparations for Love and Other Drugs continue encouragingly apace: 'Casting forces on "Love and Other Drugs" put out a notice for a real-life Parkinson's patient for a sequence involving a Healing through Humor lecture. Anne Hathaway is playing a woman afflicted with Parkinson's Disease in the Ed Zwick-directed film, also starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the pharmaceutical salesman who falls for her. It's based on Jamie Reidy's humorous memoir, "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman."'

kisses and hugs to Atticus. German Shepherds are the best :)

getting a dog in LA will improve your chances of meeting Jake, definitely :P what a lucky dog owner!

Jake tried to disguise himself? LOL... he needs to do a lot harder than that.

love the encore of wet PoP!

Hi there Winterbird! Lots of love to Atticus - what a lovely and well behaved and friendly dog :D Yep, as the old adage says, if in LA get a German Shepherd and then thou shalt meet Jake. I can't leave Wet Jake alone :P

I hope everyone's having a good evening :)

hey WDW thanks for the pic of Jake. I was wondering when filming for her movie was going to be going to Philly.

I wonder how much time Jake spends with Atticus. With all the traveling he does I wonder who looks after him? Does seem to me he gets to spend much time with Atticus.

I wanted to ask if you are having problems getting into IHJ? I have not been able to get into it all day.

Thanks for all you do

Hi Sweetpea! IT's not much of a pic but I'm grateful for anything :D I could recognise those calves anywhere...

I think, from recent sightings, that Jake spends more time with Atti than we think - and that makes me happy :)

Thanks Anon :) I've emailed Steph for an update :D

Hope for Atti's sake you're right! And it makes such a nice change from the other dog he's seen with so often....a bearded collie I think ....

Hi K-9 - I must admit to owning a robotic K9...

I just spoke to Stephanie and the whole suddenlaunch server is down. I'm sure it'll be fixed son.

So nice to see Atticus, such a beautiful dog. :)

Alma du Cuba sounds yummy! And speaking of yummy, I can't make up my mind between these two PoP pics, he's just so gorgeous in them. Gemma looks beautiful in them too, I love her hair, the twist or braid on the side. I love his expression in the second one, and that amazing chest, back and shoulders that Gemma is holding onto, and those thighs - and I love how wet he looks in the first one, and his beautiful chest hair, and the swords, like a samurai. *thud* That first one is very tactile. Sorry! ;)

Hi 23:14! That restaurant sounds delicious! I was reading the food and cocktail menu and I could have eaten the lot (probably as I'm on a diet at the moment and it's making me impossibly hungry and food-obsessed).

I totally agree about the two pics - I can't make up my mind at all and I've been swapping new avatars this evening...

Yay 23:15! I'll have an Atticuddle if one's going :D

I have tomorrow off - phew :)

Great stuff WDW! I love Jake and Atticus sightings!

As far as coming out the front door of that restaurant and then turning around and going right back in...well...I have a few comments about that but I think I'll just keep them to myself for now.

On a brighter note...back to Wet Jake indeed. Wet Dark and Wild to be exact! Was a nickname ever more appropriate than now?! I some how stayed away from those photos mostly all day...and got a lot done because of it too!

P.S. I never got a chance to comment re: an earlier post and didn't want to miss the chance to say Thank You for a Pilot/Highway post! Man I love that movie...so under rated and missed by many. I could watch Pilot all day long! And re: Nailed's new status...GRRRR...this movie is killing me.

Late!

:-)

Hey K-9 :)

BBMISwear! I'm so glad you caught and enjoyed the Pilot post. That post was long overdue.

The pics sum up all the Wet Dark and Wild for me too - sigh - just gorgeous :-)

Enlarge the restaurant pic to 400%. What the hell shoes is Jake wearing? Those are not regular tennis shoes. Am I imagining things or are those a tennis-shoe-clog-open-toe-sandal combination and he's wearing them with white anklet socks? Awful! No wonder there's only 1 pic. Those hideous shoes broke the photographer's camera!

Hello....I need a update on NAILED PLEASE.....Ive been gone and i wanna see this movie...

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Good morning everyone! Taking it easy with a day off :)

Atti!! Good to see you - and I love you too - we all love you, and cafe guy loves you :D I wish you lots of luck with plenty of heavy petting with strangers while Jake's away :D Now he's away, we could all come round for a party? We'd tidy up again afterwards... Let us know when he's back ;) Love you, Atti xx

Hey Cracked Lens! Good work. When I first saw this pic I did a double take of these shoes. I thought they looked open toed with white socks but then I thought they just can't be, that would be too.... (supply appropriate word). But I don't know. Sometimes when I look at them they look like normal Nike with a white toe, and it's the light on them. Hmmm. But I'm afraid to say, that having seen some of Jake's shoes in the past, they really could be open toed horrors!

Hi Anon :D No good Nailed news I'm afraid. It's been listed on proIMDb as 'Status unknown' and BBMISwear heard that it wouldn't be out this Autumn. I do think it'll be out though in some form, but there's a good chance that most of us will see it on DVD and not in the theatres. But I'll take that. We all need to keep our ears open.

Have a good day everyone!

PS I'm doing something about Nailed in the post today, Anon :)

Lots of wonderful stuff in this post! :D

Aww, I adore the bloggers account of Atticus and Jake. Unfortunately I had a very scary incident with a German Shepard as a kid, but I know the majority are great pets and Atticus seems like a beautiful and smart doggie. :)

Great Philly sightings/pic too.

Good to hear news on new Jake films and I like that it is Jake and Anne Hathaway again.

Thanks Get Real! I sympathis about your bad German Shepherd experience. I had one of those when I was a child, but with a Jack Russell. Fortunately, Atti looks like he knows just how to behave :)

I like the Jake and Anne thing too :D And if, as some films ites have rumoured, she is to be in Damn Yankees too, we're in for another treat!
