Today, at last, we get the first pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway on the Pittsburgh set of Love and Other Drugs!



[Update] Today there was a Brothers press conference in NYC, attended by all three stars. While we wait for details, here is a tweet: 'Jake G was hilarious at press conf., The class clown while Tobey played serious actor and Natalie smiled silently, the goddess 'tween them.' I cannot wait to hear what Jake said/did! There is also a cocktail reception for Brothers tonight. Have one for us, Jake!

People's 'Sexy' issue this week has pulled out the stops by not only featuring Jake Gyllenhaal in its list of sxiest men of the year (as if there could be any doubt...) but by also featuring a brand new photo of Jake - a very pleasant change for these polls. This picture seems to hail from the same Needy Eyes photo we see in the December issue of InStyle. It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch of the imagination to think there's a whole photoshoot out there, just waiting for us. Many thanks to IHJ for uploading this scan.


The Brothers website has again been updated and includes new video clips featuring Jake, resulting in images for this post. Plus there's that wonderful new publicity still featuring Jake on the receiving end of a Mare Winningham hug.


Tomorrow, as we know, is the NYC premiere of Brothers at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, followed by a party at Abe and Arthur's. Another screening takes place the next day, 23 November, hosted by the WGA East at the IFC Center. A Q&A will follow with Jim Sheridan, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman. A notable absence suggests that Jake will be back at work on Monday along with the rest of us. Details here.


Last weekend, Natalie Portman took part in a Q&A at the DGA in LA. We haven't heard much about it, but there is one brief report, courtesy of Pete Hammond at the LA Times: 'Natalie Portman also turned up this week for a Q&A at a packed Saturday morning SAG screening of "Brothers" at the Directors Guild Theatre and mentioned that she had been friends with her costars Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal since she was about 14. She said she actually met Tobey in 1996 at the very same DGA venue at a premiere of a David Schwimmer movie, "The Pallbearer," and they have been tight ever since. They are now all grown up and playing the parents of an 8-year-old in the film, a new kind of challenge for an actress who started as a child performer and is now a mere 28 years old herself. She also talked about her production company, which is desperately looking for female-driven romantic comedies which, she says, are really hard to come by these days.'

Movieinsider yesterday updated its record of Love and Other Drugs to include a release date: 24 November. If this date sticks, I reckon we can bet on this week next year being even busier than this one - bring it on!
