And in the blue corner! Jake Gyllenhaal wins the Source Code Scrap. Namath a goer? And PoP in close up!

After all the GQ excitement yesterday, and I still haven't fully digested the interview yet and I want to return to its themes, we have more today! We have Jake Gyllenhaal in the blue corner and in the other we have actor Cas Anvar. I don't know about you, but my money's on the gorgeous, blue-shirted, ex-Persian sword-fighter.

We are, of course, in Montreal - aka Chicago - on the railway station set of Source Code. Director Duncan Jones tweeted today that there is less than two weeks of filming to go and that today was the lovely Michelle Monaghan's last day. He also tweeted that directing a movie makes you worry about the weather alot. At least he doesn't have Icelandic volcanic ash plumes to contend with. At least, not yet...

Jake's recent photogenic adventures playing table tennis and tennis may stand him in good stead. The Namath Project has raised its head again and it has a new name - you'd never guess it so I'll tell you: Namath. James Mangold is apparently keen to take on the project, having just finished directing Peter Sarsgaard (and significant others) in Knight and Day. Whether Jake is still connected to the project isn't known but, as the article speculates, with Source Code soon to finish, what will Jake do next?

Hopefully, Jake may be involved at some time this year in publicising Nailed - or The Nail. Cannes announced its in competition list today but the out-of-competition list is not complete. Speculation continues that Nailed may get a showing. The Playlist has quoted a source which suggests that Nailed 'is only now being finished'.

Richard Kelly has been talking about how proud he is in the success of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, a success in which a certain rabbit movie played quite a part: '"It was Jake's second or third film I believe, and it was Maggie's first film, and I just feel blessed to have gotten to be a part of their lives right at the very beginning... If Donnie Darko helped kind of shine a light on their talent and provide opportunities for them, it does make me very proud of them. I'm sure they would have found success regardless because of who they are. I feel so happy for them and see them both nominated for Oscars in different roles, to be doing so well and having these amazing careers."'

'But Kelly revealed there was a time he thought Donnie Darko would never get released. He said: "I always knew that I had something special, but when the film was initially released everyone said that it was a mess, it was incoherent, it was unreleasable. I remember when we showed it at Sundance for the first time. There was so much negativity, I just thought the film might not ever see the light of day. So to see it be rediscovered and to see it build into such a phenomenon over almost 10 years now, is something that's been a huge deal for me."'

And finally...

May I suggest that if you're able you get your hands on the new June issue of Total Film? The reason is that if you're not keen on the magazine's pull out Tron poster, you just turn it over and there is the Prince of Persia - and he's massive! This is just a little section of it - click and it will be very big indeed.

And isn't it Fan Question Thursday? Here's hoping for an update! For the moment, thre is a new WonderCon video there. Photos from PopSugar.

I so hope that Nailed (The Nail) will make an appearance in Cannes!! This is shaping up to be a good year of Jake films!

He looks very handsome in an urban action hero sort of way in Source Code. I am so can't wait for LAOD and this one!

Too many exclamation marks, sorry! It's a by-product of Jaking online!

Hope you are having a good evening, thanks for all the pics!

Hi there Winterbird! Ooh me too... But with it or without it this is a great year - exclamation marks are entirely suitable for such a year! I am, thanks! Hope you are too *)

Surprised to see Duncan's got a bit of a paunch! LOL! He certainly looked trimmer at the BAFTAs.

Jake puts so much energy into his work, I hope he takes care and doesn't get hurt!

Hi there Anon! It's good to see Duncan. I wonder how he's liking Montreal. And yeah I hope he's looking after Jake. That looks quite rough

Great pics! Not terribly pretty, but very dynamic. 'Ex-persian sword fighter' ? Excellent! I'm so looking forward to SC and LAOD, but I think the title 'Nailed' was more courageous than 'The Nail'. Could be The Nail in its coffin? (weak, I know).

Spent practically the whole day thinking about the article. I liked the interviewer's questions too. And have you seen some of the incredible ...re-imaginings..of it that can be found in the News aggregates? If ever there was a live example for a Media Studies course...hilarious!

Thank you for putting up the Richard Kelly quote. I have often wondered what he thinks when he watches the Gs. Hope he keeps in touch with the family. Jake's parents were 'thanked' in the credits for Darko weren't they?

Its a wierd wonderful world.

PS I saw Clash of the Titans. Have you reviewed it on your other site WDW? It was entirely worth it for the Pegasi. (I just love saying that word..'Pegasi' :0)

Hi TD! I need the weekend to spend quality time with this article - yeah it's full of potential soundbites and headlines!

I did do a thing on Clash on MB. It's the last main article. I wasn't too keen as I love the original but it was fun! I hope you read it!

Good days :D

Just a quick stop by as I have a lot of work to do tonight:(

Like the new SC pics. Jake is looking very handsome in them. I had wondered what happened to the Namath movie. From what I've read the scheduling might be right on all sides. Will be interesting to see if Jake is still involved in it.

Thank god the weekend is nearly here. Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Evening! hmmm, I do like these revised pics . Liking Duncan Jones too, though still haven't seen Moon. I will remedy that!

Just left a comment on MB, too. Lovely reviews.

I want to comment on the interview, i've only read it once, but i can't really organise my thoughts on it yet. I know it has made me love Jake even more..and it was very emotional, the part where they're talking about the scene with Fergus was..to quote a Jake word..intense.

Glad you liked the tweet TD and WDW, it was lovely of Duncan to take the time to reply :)

I just saw JB tweeted that it's a month till the POP premiere. I can't believe it's nearly here! I know i won't be able to go though as none of my friends would pay for a trip down to London :( i'll be exceedingly jealous of all the screaming brit gyllenhaalics. I just hope there will be opportunities in the future.

Good mrorning everyone! Sunny day despite all that ash flying above us!

Hi Carol! I'm very relieved it's almost the weekend too :D If Namath is going to move along, I hope we hear soon if it's Jake who'se attached to it. It also makes me wonder what is next!

Thanks for visiting MB, TD! Glad you like it :) Do see Moon, it's amazing.

Morning Silver! I know, 9 May is rocketing towards us now - very exciting. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the interview this weekend, when I'm not rushing around.

Hi Paul! That is indeed a major link :D I thought Gemma was absolutely gorgeous in Clash but that her character Io was an odd addition to the original...

Have a good day everyone!

Just read that Gemma is a guest on Jonathon Ross tonight:)

Hi Carol! ooh thanks for reminding me - that's the one that was postponed last week due to the bloody golf...

I hate Disney Brazil!
They changed the release date for Prince of Persia here. Will be on 03 June!

I would like to see Nailed in Cannes or any other festival.

I liked all these pictures of Source Code. And it's so good to see Jake talking with Jones.

I love pictures of Jake at work. He is so completely absorbed and so serious. Completely different from his personality that we see in interviews most of the time.

I think Joe Namath, himself, said he wanted Jake to play him.

Truthfully, Jake would do really well, but it would definitely depend on the script. The perspective. Joe was the first "rock star" professional athlete. It could end up being very dark and very funny at the same time.

FYI...new Facebook video up for PoP. Someone asked how it felt to be chosen for the role. Short but sweet. He is so handsome in these questions. Love the dark blue shirt...definitely compliments him.

Happy Friday!

Oh and about Joe Namath...if he does the movie, they MUST recreate this commercial:

I'll have to be sure to watch Jonathan Ross tonight - I love Gemma's character from what I have seen and read about her! :)

Hi there everyone!

I'm sorry about the change of PoP date, Monica :( These dates have been listed so randomly on IMDb.

Hi there Anons :D

I love these little videos, Stace! That was an incredible set for them.

Yep, I'm gonna be watching Gemma too. She has about a dozen movies in the theatres at the moment (slight exaggeration... :D)
