Another change is that, after some discussion and a lot of thought and encouragement, I've added a chance to donate button. WDW is a product of love for a remarkable man and his smashing films and it's been propelled along over the years through the support of a commmunity of readers, many of whom have become good friends. But I'm not gonna deny that it takes every minute of my spare time and quite a few resources to keep up with Jake and, as I don't want to litter the place with ugly ads, this was an option. And it can be ignored! But should you chose not to ignore it, it does help and is much appreciated.
Talking of Jake Gyllenhaal - as is my wont - Jake has been nominated for two Teen Choice Awards - for two rather contrasting roles. Bearing in mind, that the voters are supposed to be 12-19, Jake may not be in for much of a chance with his portrayal of Tommy Cahill in the very adult Brothers, he must be a good bet for his swashbuckling and completely swoonworthy and hot portrayal of that Persian Prince.

So many categories... does this programme (aired n Monday 9 August) last a week? You can vote here - if you're a teenager of course. I can't imagine that anyone would want to vote for Rob or Johnny. Will Forte, whom you might remember as one of the very appreciative cowboys on Jake's triumphant appearance on SNL back in January 2007. Will has been reminiscing to Elle and, in addition to snogging James Franco, Will also recalls which 'male SNL host has made the female cast members most flustered?' 'WF: Jake Gyllenhaal. Not only did every woman have a crush on him, it seemed like there were a lot of dude crushes, too.' No doubt of that at all.

Love Dastan Jnr and what a breath of fresh air he must have been for them to have some originality in being interviewed. This deserves to be seen by many. In the end it ended up with Dastan Jnr being interviwed by them instead of the other way around. Sir Ben was hilarious and I can see why Jake would want him as his Amazing Race partner. That's so cool , also that you had received an email from him. Dastan Jnr is now part of our 'circle of fun' PoP ride that we're on. Look in the dictionary for 'fun' and the definition has now changed to Prince of Persia :o)

I mentioned this to you already but I enjoy the new design. I was someone who had a difficult time with the white text on black background, especially during the longer posts. This new design is already much easier on my eyes.

Thanks so much for posting, friends, I've been sooooo nervous! WDW has looked the same for over three years and it's a part of me! But I realised that after the last month when I've spent so many hours on it, I was tired of it and needed a change. I like the white background. But it's now so easy to change things that I won't be so afraid to touch it in the future.
But there's lots I want to do - Mr Ruby volunteered :D to help with the banner for me, but also Blogger now has pages so I want to make use of those for some things.
I put two side bars so I can ut details of news on there - Sheba suggested this too. I got rid of some things, like the videos and the Facebook and Twitter links. People know I'm there and they come here from them and not the other way around - and it's clutter...

Can I point out that the link words are a bit harder to find with the white background? Maybe another link color would help there. And personally I would put the links to Twitter and Facebook back on. I for one found this page via entering Jake's name in Google, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. But hea... this is your place. ;-)

I removed the Facebook and Twitter widgets as they weren't that useful (saying no updates for FB or showing private tweets), and FB and Twitter are intended to direct people here rather than vice versa. But I can add plain links. That shouldn't affect people finding WDW from google as the FB and Twitter links are relatively new. But I'll add something - thanks :D

I'm not asking for anything, I've just put the option up there - after all this time I'm still not going with ads etc as I don't want the site to look unpleasant. This site is indeed done out of love - I'm glad that shows! I don't want to get into justifying WDW here as it's my pride and joy and it fills my life with happiness and I won't stop. I just realised that after spending sometimes up to 5 hours a day on it, on top of work, that maybe it'd be nice if there was some way I could have some support to help me with some of the extras such as web storage space, newsbank subscriptions so I've been able to provide out of print articles over the years, the magazines I buy from around the world to scan, the IMDb Pro membership to get up to date news on Jake's films, statcounter (which has enabled me to identify and block people who've sent me threats) that kind of thing. It's entirely anyone's choice, just as it's mine to do the site. You start off with something and you have no idea how it's going to grow! People have been nagging me for a while to put a button up and so I thought I would during the revamp.
I am most certainly not forced to do WDW - I love it! I hope that shows. It's nothing for you to feel sad about, so please don't be! And now I'm embarrassed.
That's great lady Ekster! I couldn't change them much more - if it went lighter you couldn't see them against the ackground and darker you couldn't see them against the print. I hope that's a bit better. That was always a benefit of the white print!

Jake really has no chance against the Twilight bunch, does he. I was really surprised he was nominated for Brothers, it`s really not a teen movie.

Great new look, all freshly spring cleaned.
I just looked at the box office figures to date, and saw that globally "Shrek" (at $286 million) is not very far ahead of "Prince of Persia" ($263 million). Maybe PoP will climb past $300 million, which might make back the costs incurred in making it. Then it will go out on DVD and make more money. I think it will be profitable, though not a runaway blockbuster.
Loving the wider text field and the black font color. Not loving the "out there" part. Looking forward to seeing the final layout, WD&W. This site is always my first stop of the day :o)
WOW! Here I am catching up on both old and new posts (still a bit behind thanks to the PoP craze) and tonight I come here and see a SMASHING new design - love it! I'm sure there will be little tweeks here and there as well as the new banner but it really looks great!
Oh, and re: the Teen Choice Awards...I'm glad Jake is nominated but 12-19 year olds? Are they for freaking real?! Do these "teens" even get to see 1/2 of Jake's movies in the theater?! Not to be negative but with RP and that other wolf type guy from that weird movie in the race I don't think our guy has a chance (and I'm thinking he doesn't really care too much either - LOL)! Just my opinion...who knows what he (or the 12-19 year olds) are thinking! It did make me laugh though and of course it would be great to see Jake make an appearance on any awards show.
I just want to put my two cents in regarding donations. I am one of those people that sincerely believes that time is money. There are some days I would do anything to just be able to "buy more hours in a day" - it doesn't work that way - but that is what I need sometimes. Well, ya know what? I get it right here! Ya know why? Because reading articles and interviews about Jake and looking at photos and videos of Jake and following Jake's movie projects from beginning to end and hearing all the up to the minute news about Jake is truly my end of the day relaxing time - I love it the way an old guy loves to sit at the pub and sip an ice cold beer at the end of a long hard day. But I could never ever ever ever keep up with all the great stuff I enjoy so much if it wasn't for blogs like WDW and those similar that put everything in one place and post every new thing almost the minute it happens! This isn't even mentioning the fun, witty, entertaining descriptions we get in the process! I know that this blog is not looking for money but I feel it is completely acceptable to post a donation link and, in my humble opinion, it is deserving if the blog does raise some funds to cover the many costs. Done in this way everyone can do what they feel comfortable doing (and we don't have to look at ads in the process). I can imagine the hours that go into a site like this. I actually have a bit of an idea because I use to gather all this info on my own! No, not to put it on a blog, but to simply look at it all on my own. And ya know what? I know now I don't have to spend hours each day doing that because I have WDW to come to each day! So I will be one that donates every once in a while and will consider it money well spent. And those who can't...that's okay...those of us who can will (consider it a sliding scale...I love that concept...is it as popular in the UK as it is in the states)?! Oh, and who is this Jamie person? Talk about a person that does not get it at all. *rolls eyes*
Well, that's my two cents...more like two dollars, right?! LOL! Thanks for everything WDW! I'll visit here as often as I can for as long as you and this blog are here. There ain't no reins on this one.

I love the new look and I'll gladly donate. During PoP week I repeatedly wondered how on earth you managed to find the time.
I must mention that I liked the old design too as when eyes are tired a black background does cut down on screen glare eg you are not reading, just working next to a pic of Jake ;). But a change is as good as a rest, and I LOVE the new design! Its a new Jake-Age!
I've gotta just mention I made the mistake of going over to the DC forum the other day and got seriously depressed (they seem to take him so much for granted!) so I was quite relieved to see this blog post on AfterElton just now:

Well Jake's team beat his "boy's" team last night which means it all comes down to one game...Thursday night in LA. The series is tied 3 games to 3 games so this is the game that determines who wins the NBA National Championship. Everyone here is completely exhausted...too many late nights. Thursday night will be interesting (still no sign of Jake at the games...lots of celebs per usual...it is LA after all)!!

POP is still in first place in the Brazilian box office!
I saw POP for the second time on Sunday and this time the movie was more fun for me than the first time. Still having problems with the direction, screenplay and editing.
And Gemma Arterton is still the weakest part of the movie for me.
The film deserved to be successful, taking into account the amount of waste that debuted this summer (hello Iron Man2).
I don't normally like re-designs and face-lifts for web-pages and magazines etc(I loathe the constant changes to Heat for example) as I consider my favourite t'internet sites to be second homes but I have to say that I love this new look. I hadn't really appreciated how hard to read the previous layout could be until I saw this refresh.
