An 'actual' teenager sought to star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal on stage and a test of time...

Are you an actual teenager? Got nothing to do this Autumn? Here's a suggestion:

'SEEKING 1 teenage girl to play ANNA. ANNA IS AN OVERWEIGHT 15 YEAR OLD GIRL. SHE IS BULLIED AT SCHOOL AND TENDS TO KEEP TO HERSELF AT HOME. SHE IS A LONER STRUGGLING TO NAVIGATE THE PERILS OF ADOLESCENCE. SHE LIKES TERRY VERY MUCH AND OFTEN CONFIDES THINGS IN HIM SHE WON’T TELL HER PARENTS. SEEKING AN EXCEPTIONAL ACTRESS WITH A STRONG ENGLISH ACCENT. SEEKING AN ACTUAL TEENAGER. NO ONE OVER 18 PLEASE.'

More details here on how to apply to act opposite Jake Gyllenhaal on stage.

Thanks to IHJ, we're able to see today that no matter how bad Jake's hair and beard can be these days, it could always be much, much worse... The photos were taken at the NYC premiere of A Midsummer Night's Dream in April 1999, the same year that Jake appeared in October Sky.

Thanks, Kate! Those photos are so cute. Doesn't everybody love seeing old pictures of themselves as teens?

According to my notes, October Sky was released in 1999, but it was filmed in spring of 1998. Highway was filmed in the summer of 1999, so when these photos were taken in April 1999, he was almost ready to be Pilot Kelson. Makes me want to watch Highway...

Speaking of October Sky, Homer Hickam has a new YA book out that is getting rave reviews. Check out Crater. It's the first in a trilogy (of course). http://www.homerhickam.com/

That casting sounds very exciting. Can you imagine being 15 years old Jake's fan and having that chance? Even overweight sounds like a prize. It could cure out of complexes.
Casting for autumn play is on and still no cast for An Enemy? They'll start to shot soon.

How exciting for "Anna" - whoever she may be! Imagine?!

Susan - you are so right that those young Jake photos makes one think of Pilot. How I love Pilot and the movie Highway. It may be time to pull that one out and give it (yet another) re-watch!

Hope wherever you all are it is not raining each and every day like it is here in New England. Ugh.

:-)

Hello! Love those photos of Jake in '99, how cute! Very Pilot.
Here in Birmingham UK it is pretty much raining, grey and dull every day at the moment BBMISwear, so I know how you feel - April showers have continued into May :(

Oh how I wish I was an "ACTUAL TEENAGER" hee hee!
