Jake's back - and he's got Reese with him!
Jake's been gone from public view for over a month and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's missed him. Well, our wait is at an end and, after all these months, the latest, much longed for picture of Jake is also, rather ironically, that never before achieved photo of Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon together. This time they're actually in the same car and, in my opinion, that's a relief. This post has now been edited to add more photos, courtesy of IHeartJake - and it is good to see Jake and Reese smiling and sharing a joke (click and they shall be bigger). The observant ones at DC have pointed out that these pictures are from two separate occasions - different cars. Well spotted!

This picture makes me feel ridiculously happy!!!! Happy to finally see Jake after more than a month, happy to see him not all by himself. I hope they will not get too much hassle from paps and continue to be low key, but at the same time I am very relieved they are finally just being natural together instead of all the evasive stuff. I'm sure they had reasons but this is much better. And they make a delicious looking couple.
Bobbyanna - Are you a mindreader?? This is spooky, because every single one of those words could have come from me too. I am so glad to see that they are both comfortable enough to be photographed together - they would have known full well of the presence of the paps - and not drive around in convoys with armies of assistants. I am so happy to see Jake!

Hi Happy Sass! Maybe the Jake Drought of 2007 is at an end. Jake's certainly shown us that he can keep well away from the public eye when he wishes, but I hope we'll get a few glimpses now and again ;D
Problem is, WDW, it's usually the paps who travel in convoys. And that's the bad part. If it were just a couple who were in the right place to catch a photo op, that's one thing. But they travel in packs and follow people and hang around houses. That is why it is somewhat necessary to perform "evasive tactics." I'm afraid that now the paps will go crazy trying to outdo each other for pictures, bcz they will make $$$.Maybe the publicists have made a deal with the wire services who buy up these pictures. Maybe they can try to control it. I doubt it. Hope Jake and Reese are strong. As Bette Davis once famously said, "Fasten your seat belts. It's gonna be a bumpy ride!"
I agree Bobbyanna but I also think if anyone can handle the circus, Jake and Reese can. A part of me hopes that this picture was part of some kind of deal but as you say, it's unlikely. It's a difficult one because I know I like the pictures.

I have access to tabloids, and I can separate fact from fiction as well. The friendship is well-established, and this new set of photographs prove the existence of a healthy friendship.
Everything else is unsupported, unhealthy, idle speculation. The tabloid spin-machine can't change common-sense.

Jake is back - excellent. He is with Reese - very good. They are friends or more - very good.
The pics are all over the net and some of the comments are beyond stupidity - not so good.
Honestly - I am relieved to see he is back and doing fine. But on the other hand I like the fact that he is obviously able to disappear if he really wants to...
And now I have something to complain - I don´t want to be a kill joy, but Jake is losing BIG TIME in the Hello voting!
He has only 121 votes so far - David Tennant has over 1.000. Looks like I am the only one voting at the moment and its time to go to bed now - so perhaps - when the exitement has slowed down - I would appreciate a bit support.....:-))

A while ago I warned him about his dangerous excalator riding technique and next pic we say he was following my advice and yesterday I said I'd love to see new pics of him before I went on holiday and what do I see when I log on?!!!!:D Thank you Jake!!! Anyway, it's great to see our boy back and looking hot and happy! So it looks like the rumours are true then...I have to admit I never really imagined them as a couple. I think he has more chemistry with Jennifer Aniston or Natalie Portman, but I know it's none of my business. And anyway with my track record I'm the last person who should be talking about other people's choice of partner, so as long as he's happy I'm happy for him :)

It's been a little odd as we've had two days of photos all at once. So who knows what the coming days will bring. I'm sure Jake will manage to avoid the paps when he can but now and again I hope we get a little peek!

As far as I'm concerned, I just want him to be happy. Seeing them together and laughing and joking, looking at that teasing, flirty look of his, I'm just beaming!!!
Sometimes I feel bad to always see him alone. She seems like a nice person. They don't have anything to "prove" to me. I think they are dating, and I think it's great.

I have to agree Sass that it is nice to chat positively about this. I do get a sense of trepidation with this subject but now there are photos of them together it feels different. And Jake does look so delicious in these pictures. I wonder if he ever drives Reese?

Ok, taking another deep breath.....I came home from work with an arm load of groceries and is my habit I immediately turned on my computer so it could boot up and be ready as soon as I changed into more comfortable Jakin' clothes. Of course today I had groceries to put away, too. My computer can be seen from my kitchen so when I heard the little bell telling me of new messages I took a few steps closer to see who they were from. The one and only one simply said "Jake turns up. Go to WDW first!"
I literally got weak in the knees and stood frozen to the spot where I'd stopped. After a few moments I clapped my hands to my face and started giggling like a teenage girl while I danced around. But for some reason, I didn't want to look right away. It was like I needed to savor the excitement of just knowing I was about to see him. So, I put all my groceries away, changed my clothes, got my dinner started and THEN with a shakey hand I clicked on WDW and saw those words "..and he's got Reese with him!" I confess, it knocked the breath right out of me. I guess I never really believed it because there was never THE photo. But all along during the rumors I always said that I liked Reese. They really do make a great looking couple. And now here they are together finally!
I studied the pictures thoroughly and then I read everyone of these 99% enthusiastic comments while I decided what I felt about it. The only thing I can do is echo those that are so happy to see him again. See him come out of hiding with Reese. And the two of them go for it if that's what is happening. I have never had a problem with the thoughts that Reese has too much baggage for Jake. She seems like she is a devoted mother and a lovely woman. She deserves another chance at happiness and I certainly want that for Jake. So my conclusion is I am happy, too!
One last thing. I was just thinking. I've really been "studying" these pictures and IHJ, too. I guess I never really thought about how truly lonesome Jake has seemed sometimes, until I saw these pictures of him laughing and smiling and interacting with Reese. I read on some other blog that according to the pap who took the pictures, they had absolutely no clue they were being photo'd. So the reactions were natural...and they were very sweet. I know these are just a few pictures, but the other thing is she seems to really look at him, pay attention to him. They interact equally. I've seen other pictures of Jake where he seemed like he was the nurturer, the initiator, the one performing, so to speak. Here, the giving seems more balanced, more shared. I hope it is so. That's all.
Yes! It's so good to see him again (that was a long 4 or 5 weeks)..... and he's with Reese!
I am probably one of the very few people on this planet that thought from the get go that they were a couple. They seem to have a lot of important things in common, and Reese just struck me as the type of woman he would be attracted to. (Remember his comments about common background and chemistry?) I think that Naomi and Maggie might be blueprints for the kind of woman he wants...... very intelligent and independent, with a real devotion to family. That seems to describe Reese.
Who knows? Maybe they really are "just friends". I just want him to be happy and loved.
I can't believe how people all over, in every blog and forum, are jumping to conclusions. Just because two people ride in a car together, sharing a smile and a laugh, doesn't mean that they are in love.
In my excitement at seeing the new Jake photos, I neglected to wish you good luck, WDW, at your new job. Hope it doesn't interfere too much with your most important job...... keeping this wonderful site humming along. Look how many of us depend on you! :D

I worry about these two. They are very chatty. Reese is looking at Jake more than she is looking at the road. And Jake is encouraging her. They need a driver. LOL!
(I know I could NOT drive if he were sitting right next to me showing me things and chatting me up!)
Funny, I was just thinking Reese was being a safe driver becasue in one pic it looks to me like her cell phone may have went off and Jake was holding it up to her so she could see who it was without touching it herself. But now that I look again, her eyes are not on where she is going very often. Who can blame her. My eyes wouldn't be on the road either if Jake was in my car.....You are right, Anon, they need a driver!

I'm convinced they are in a relatinship. They've gone to too much trouble to keep things very quiet for it to be just friends. Justfriends have nothing to worry about and come and go and laugh off all the gossip.And Justfriends are usually with others who aren't.

Where to begin? Some of these pics, especially the BAFTA ones, are just beautiful. There's an intense "look" in his eyes in them that I think is incredibly attractive.
I was very happy to see these pics of Jake and Reese as well when I checked in today - so if the rumors are true, and it certainly appears that they are, I think they make a fantastic couple! :)
Hi Marina! Yes, Bafta Jake is beautiful - there really was something evern extra special about him that evening, and it shone out of his expression. At the time I remember thinking Jake shone.
