Hi!
Congratulation Anne and Jake!
What do you think about those nominations?
I didn't see any of those movies. Do they have any chances?

Hi Mermon! I've not seen any of the other movies in Jake's category - two of them (Tourist and Alice) because I haven't heard anyone describe them as anything but rubbish. I don't know the other two but I hear they're a surprise on the list!

In Anne's category, the Kids are All Right is excellent (although I don't know how they'd decide between the two actresses) and Easy A was pretty good.

Nominations are always so bizarre - they're fun as a talking point but I don't take them too seriously. Another reason to get them out of the way here before my big post later today :D

I thought that Anne's performance in "Love and Other Drugs" was worth a nomination, given that angst is considered award-worthy by the powers that be. I was thrilled that they also nominated Jake. Comic performances so often get lost in the shuffle. They must have figured that Jake more than held his own, which of corse he did! :-) (Golden Globes has separate categories for musicals/comedies, and frankly I didn't think the competition was all that fierce this year.)

The Golden Globes are sometimes thought of as precursors for the Oscars.

Hi Paul! Anne's been getting some great reviews but I totally agree about Jake's performance. I think his character develops in a really emotional way. So I'm really pleased for him.

Waves to Lady Ekster!

Hi Susan! I know, that is a complete mystery and also nonsense.

Great, Sass! I hope it puts a smile on Jake's face too :D

To be honest, I didn't know The Tourist is a comedy??!?

And well done to Michelle for Blue Valentine, I am looking forward to that!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Me too, Sweetpea :)

Blimey, good luck, Winterbird! I was pleased to see Michelle on there too. I had no idea The Tourist was a comedy either. It'd be crazy if that film won a thing.
